View Full Version : Time for the Fabulous INCHIE A THON

05-14-2009, 09:51 AM
It's our Third ever INCHIE a Thon!!!
This is open to everyone!
We will be making inchies and rinchies all weekend long :jiggy:

Start time (in your time zone - when your clock says 5:00 pm Start) May 15, 2009 - 5:00 pm

End time (in your time zone) May 17, 2009 - 11:59 pm

__________________________________________________ ___________________

so post your inches and rinches to this thread - here is how to post from the photo hosting site http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2115
www.photobucket.com is another photo hosting site that is easy to use. you may also use your gallery or upload from your computer.

to post a pic from your gallery

go to your pic in your gallery - left click on the pic to bring up the menu - click on properities - this brings up the info on your pic - copy the address - go to your post and hit the "insert image" button (looks like a postcard) paste the address into the window that pops up and and hit ok - that puts the code into your post for your pic to show up

To make a picture loaded from the gallery smaller, you can change the last piece of the coded address. Notice the end of the code "w=l" (for large); you can change this after you paste it into your message to w=m (for medium) or w=s (for small).

(leaving the last bracket off the above so you can see how the address will look)

this pic is just a sample

To post a picture from your computer - one that is NOT uploaded to your gallery:

1. click POST REPLY at the bottom of the messages screen. Above the message box, click the paperclip next to the smiley face. Then upload as usual. This will upload your pic as a thumbnail.

2. If you go into the Quick Reply box at the bottom of the messages screen, click GO ADVANCED and you will get the paperclip above the message box.

__________________________________________________ __________________

trading will go on thru out the weekend - please pm the artist you would like to trade with rather than posting to the thread to insure they see your request - also please remember this is not first come first serve

And have fun - these "a thons" are fast and furious - but they are soooo much fun!!!

This is our second inch a thon so here's the link to our first one so you can see how it ran.

I'm starting my inchies now!

05-15-2009, 08:24 PM
I've not played in an inchie-a-thon yet....Do y'all trade sets? Or do you trade each inchie individually? (but maybe end up with several from each player in the end?)

Patti M
05-15-2009, 08:29 PM
It's really up to the traders. Some people post theirs with a set amt they are trading- like sets of 6 for 6, or 3 for 3, while others just trade one at a time. You generally set thAt up with the person you want to swap with.

05-15-2009, 08:39 PM
Thanks, ladies! I'll see what I can come up with. :D

There are some lovely collaged inchies up for trade already. I admire you folks who can collage on such a small space! I don't do collage inchies. I tried to once...it like to have drove me battier than I am already! Mine are all hand drawn and colored in with markers.
I'll be back shortly to show you all some.

Patti M
05-16-2009, 12:02 PM
Joy- the collaged are nice- but the pencils are wow!

Patti M
05-16-2009, 12:03 PM
Tamrantula- you make me jealous just by posting those rinchies! I long for a circle punch. The manager at Michael's swears they are getting them in! Very nice work.

05-16-2009, 12:04 PM
How come MY pencils don't work for me, the same way YOUR pencils work for you? I think it must be operator error! LOL.

I gotta stick with collage/stamped cards so they don't look like they were made by a kindergartener with their eyes closed!

05-16-2009, 12:05 PM
Tamrantula- you make me jealous just by posting those rinchies! I long for a circle punch. The manager at Michael's swears they are getting them in! Very nice work.

I would be happy to send you miles of blanks, if you would like! I am getting some ready to send out to some other people--so, let me know if you would like some and I will punch extra! Also, if you want white or colored backgrounds.

05-16-2009, 12:09 PM
Y'all are so sweet! The first two there are sort of "cheaters" I took the pencils to a couple of found images that needed color...but it was so much fun that I kept going...I think it will be a drawing weekend for me. :)

I might try some rinchies, I bought a package of one inch chipboard circles that would make nice sturdy bases...oh! maybe I'll paint them! :D

Okay...collage, to drawing, to painting...just that fast! Can we say A.D.D.?

I've got to make some more so I can beg for trades!!!!

Patti M
05-16-2009, 12:11 PM
Thank you so much for the offer Tam- but like Joy I broke down and bought some chipboard 1" circles to play with to hold me over till Iget my punch. It was very sweet of you to offer though.!:D

And Joy- I use that method myself on occasion! Cheaters that you embellish become yours anyway!

05-16-2009, 12:16 PM

Patti M
05-16-2009, 06:39 PM

Here are a few inchies I've just made. I'll try to make some more tomorrow but I need to go to bed right now! (it's 02:13 am here!)

05-16-2009, 08:28 PM
Wow! You all have produced some fabulous inchies while I was at an auction all day. My son kidnapped me this morning to go the auction. I haven't been to bed since yesterday. I have a grand total of three inchies completed since my last post. I do have a dozen of them drawn but only three of them have color on them. Should have taken the inchies with me to the auction. Fine time to think of that, now!
My van is full of foam core board (large, very large sheets...three of them), 4 file cabinets made of wood, about a dozen heavy duty 6' cardboard tubes of various sizes and a bunch of cardboard. Nothing totally exciting! I'm going back to the auction late tomorrow morning. I'm hoping to score a few boxes of letterhead paper, a box or two of envelopes and maybe some of those really cool zippered notebooks as well. We shall see if the bank account says I can actually try to accomplish that.
My belly is growling like a grizzley bear cause I've not eaten today either. I'll be back with more inchies early in the morning. I've been awake for 22 hours straight and my old body says, "FEED ME AND PUT MY HIDE TO BED!" First though, I have PMs to answer.

05-16-2009, 08:36 PM
Hi everyone. I'm making inchies now and will post up soon.

05-16-2009, 08:50 PM

Isn't it funny how a random theme becomes the big desire at almost every a-thon? You never know what will hit that chord, but you make something and it is very popular!

Char had those adorable penguins for one of the CATs, and everyone wanted them. I made a fish for a SAT, and had several requests....and there are more I can't think of right now. But, who would have thought a FISH would be popular? LOL. I think I ended up making 5 or 6 for requests.

05-17-2009, 05:40 PM
I don't remember the umbrellas... Is there a picture?

05-17-2009, 05:48 PM
Did everyone miss that Cheery made a Stick figure Stripper inchie? How random is that!?!???? Hiliarious!

05-17-2009, 05:55 PM
Did everyone miss that Cheery made a Stick figure Stripper inchie? How random is that!?!???? Hiliarious!

She is sexy- but I think overshadowed by the figure next to her doing a cannonball in the water! Hysterical. I would never have thought of doing that- they are great!

05-17-2009, 06:46 PM

Well, I took a break from inchies and got 3 cards finished for the Wizard of Oz swap! I am pretty happy with 2 of the 3--still want to get a host card done...but, at least working on these inchies got me in the creative mode!

05-17-2009, 10:28 PM
Oh - I love the colors in that Gecko! :wubclub: and wormwood is cool and a little creepy. :D

05-17-2009, 11:12 PM
Wow more FAB inchies - I do not know where the day went! Planned on playing more today but it just didn't happen. between yard work and having to get people, dog and cat food today the day just flew by. and I've not even made a dent in the yard work list yet. Loving all the inchies! wish the weekend wasn't nearly over :(

05-17-2009, 11:15 PM
Here is my 3rd set of hand drawn inchies. I made my first rinchies today!

05-17-2009, 11:35 PM
Beautiful! You have become a gecko expert, Mingo! LOL

05-17-2009, 11:51 PM
Cheryl, you know me - I don't usually do creepy. But that funny little crow with the boots just cracked me up. And when I found that wormwood pentagram, well...it was too easy!

Yep...sometimes creepy just happens.

I may try to come up with a few more collage inchies before the night is through...I'm up for at least a couple of hours longer.
This has been so much fun that I don't want it to be over!

05-17-2009, 11:53 PM
Here's more!

05-18-2009, 12:00 AM

I'm hoping to do a few more but Hubby is being fussy wanting me to help him with a thousnd different thing - mainly the photo program - just installed it and he's full of questions - I've spent the last two hours showing him but he's still full of qustions, why it was so importan to do tonight I don't know, so I may not but great inchies being posted. now if hubby will just settle down.............................oh no he just clicked on something he shouldn't have - be back............................

05-18-2009, 12:44 AM
I do wish I had gotten back to inchies this weekend but the ones I posted about needing color still, they still need colored. You all though, are on fire! Wonderful inchies everyone!
Thanks so much to those of you I've traded with this weekend. I look forward to recieving them in the mail. I will mail all trades tomorrow morning.
I didn't get back to doing inchies cause I slept most of the day away and then my packrat son called to say he'd gone back to the auction (same one as yesterday) and he needed my help to bring his haul home. Home being, my house cause he's not room at his own house. One pickup truck load full and a van full of stuff and we're heading back again in the morning to get the rest of it. I really have no clue what that boy is going to do with 19,000 beer koosies! You read that right....nineteen thousand. Nor have I any clue what he's going to do with 1500 magnets, 2000 letter openers and about 6000 plastic shopping bags. I do know what is going to happen to the 40 lights he bought though. There was a bunch of other stuff he bought as well that didn't floor me like the beer koosies and such. All this stuff has a logo for an insurance company that went bankrupt on them.
I got a heck of a deal.....they were free actually....can't get a better deal than that! on 12 cases of presentation folders. I have an endless supply of linen textured cream colored cardstock to make ATC blanks out of! Each folder will give me 33 ATC blanks and 30 inchie blanks as well. I could have taken all 128 cases if I had wanted them. I wanted them, I just don't have anywhere to store them. The boy took up all my storage space with his beer koosies and lights, not to mention the other goodies.
If anyone wants a beer koosie, a magnet, a letter opener or a keychain (I forgot about those...2000 of them!) let me know...I have plenty to share! Just send me a PM and we'll work something out.
Again, thanks for the trades this weekend. Perhaps when the next inchie a thon rolls around, I can stick around and make inchies!
You all have a fantastic week~!

05-18-2009, 01:13 AM

I think this is going to be it! I'm getting dizzy!!! I have had a ton of fun.

05-18-2009, 01:43 AM
This was so much fun. I've tried to reply to all who messaged me but if I have missed someone don't worry, I'll try to pick up where I left off. I am remaking some inchies for you who requested them and so I'll post up tomorrow what I have available again. All mine are gone, yay, thank you all, but I feel so bad for those of you who missed out that today is your day. Without further a do, it's off painting with me. Talk tomorrow, Vee.

05-18-2009, 01:53 AM
Great inchies from everyone!!! Thanks for posting and playing in the inchie a thon everyone!!

05-18-2009, 02:53 AM

Sweet dreams!

05-18-2009, 08:36 AM
Great fun everyone! Hope to mail everything out today :)

05-18-2009, 09:16 AM
If anyone has inchies left and still wants to swap, let me know. :) I still have some in previous batches (gallery posts list availability) and this is the final group I made last night but didn't get posted up.

05-18-2009, 09:41 AM
Oh Cheryl those birds are sooooo adorable!

05-18-2009, 07:27 PM
All mine went into the mail today, with the exception of dmnh....your's will go out tomorrow!

I had tons of fun playing with these little guys! I think I have the hang of them now! I did some beeswax backgrounds...THEN punched them. Much easier than the other way around I was trying to do it. Tough to beeswax an inch square! LOL

Anyone still want to trade, I got quite a few left...just send a PM!

05-19-2009, 12:11 AM
I posted all my leftovers in my gallery if anyone is interested. Boy, I didn't realize how many I made until just now... Hope to see everyone next time.

05-19-2009, 11:44 AM
Here are the inchies/rinchies I have still available for trade. Some are from the last IAT! If anyone is interested in a trade, let me know. They are all numbered, so that should make it easier!

Wow--it is not giving me the size options. Sorry it is so big!
