05-26-2009, 12:14 PM
I have a swap and a few trades to get ready over the weekend, but will try to find some time to play. I haven't made any chunkies since the last a-thon, but maybe this will give me a kickstart on these again. Thanks for having another one of these.

05-26-2009, 07:00 PM
Oh dear... I'll probably have to play a bit. :D

05-29-2009, 03:41 AM
NOOOOOOO! This is one of the few weekends that I can't play. Stupid boyfriend treating me to a long weekend for our anniversary - doesn't he know I want to make 4x4's? :twitcy:

05-29-2009, 07:40 PM
I still have a little bit of time before I can play... anyone else around?

05-29-2009, 07:49 PM
I have some blank ready and a background mostly done. It's past five here, but it will be awhile before I have anything to post though.

05-29-2009, 07:59 PM
Well, I just happened across this. It is 5 minutes to 5 here--so, that tells me I should at least think about this! I have never made a 4 X 4before--but, I had never made an inchie till the inchie-a-thon...so, it will be a good opportunity to try!

05-29-2009, 08:07 PM
Here are 2 of mine......................

05-29-2009, 08:16 PM
I love the clown!!

05-29-2009, 08:37 PM
The clown is fun, but the fairy is pretty! I'm waiting for paint to dry. Will blast it with my heat gun if it isn't dry soon.

05-29-2009, 09:12 PM
I am wondering what you all use for the backgrounds of the 4 X 4's? I usually use card stock for ATCs..but, not sure if that is heavy enough for these. I did just buy my first pad of watercolor paper--says 120 lbs (whatever that means! LOL).

Or how about something like a cereal box cardboard?

05-29-2009, 09:32 PM
I use 140 lb watercolor paper or the cereal box should do. You want something heavier if you want to hang fibers and charms etc off the pages.

05-29-2009, 09:33 PM
I use 140 lb watercolor or a light to medium weight chipboard... the cereal box or a six pack carton. :D

05-29-2009, 09:37 PM
I guess I will make a trip to Michaels after the hubby gets home....get some of the 140 lb paper--cause, ya know.....any excuse to go to Michaels is a GOOD excuse to go to Michaels! LOL. Esp since I have a 40% off coupon--can't let THAT go to waste..right?

05-30-2009, 10:57 AM
Amazing chunkies Carol

Here is my first one. i'm waiting for another to dry.

Magenta Flower - Watercolour, uni pin fine line pens, krylon silver leafing pen. Back is covered with a patterened paper. (Traded)

05-30-2009, 11:09 AM
here is my second page.

Yellow Flower - Watercolour, uni pin fine line pens, Krylon gold leafing pen. Back is covered with patterned paper. This one is more yellow than orange. (Traded)

05-30-2009, 11:39 AM
Here's my first page... paper napkin collage. The back at this point is stamped script and tinted with inks.

I have a couple others in the works as well, so more later. :D

Seaside (Traded)

05-30-2009, 11:46 AM
WOW! That is beautiful! LOVE it!

05-30-2009, 11:54 AM
Beautiful, HHC! I have to drive over to see my BF so I will be out of pocket for a few hours. Hope to have some finished by tonight or tomorrow afternoon at the very latest. Will add fibers etc afterwards. I have a flat scanner so it's tough to scan anything with much dimension. Plus I don't feel like dragging all my fibers and charms with me.

05-30-2009, 12:23 PM
One more of mine..............It is hard to see but I added some decorative machine stitches to the background to add some texture...................TRADED

05-30-2009, 12:40 PM
I've got a few class assignments due Sunday I have to get done, but hopeully will be able to play Monday! Great pages so far!

05-30-2009, 01:20 PM
Love what you have done Helen.

05-30-2009, 02:04 PM
I guess my plans have changed to making 4x4s this weekend!
I just stumbled upon this thread....Does anyone have anything in particular they are collecting?
I'm looking for a few elephants to finish up my book of them if anyone is interested in doing an elephant....
I'll be back in a couple of hours to show you all what I have to trade!

There's already lots of nice chunky pages to drool over! Wow! You guys are good!

05-30-2009, 04:19 PM
I have four bases done, will post once I have embellished!!! Of course they are fabric!!!

05-30-2009, 04:56 PM
Well, here it is three hours later.... I 3 Chunkys in the making....a fish, a redbird and I'm not sure what the other one is gonna end up being. Haven't got very far on that one.
Another hour or so and they should be ready to post.

05-30-2009, 05:06 PM
I'm working on two pages right now. I'm going to try to finish them. Love what you all have done so far.

05-30-2009, 05:22 PM
Just back from the farmers market, and need to get out and take care of some plants. Yay for sunshine! I'll be back a bit later...

Dmnh, I'll have to see if I have any elephants... :D

Pippin, Can't wait to see your fabric 4x4's.

05-30-2009, 05:46 PM

Here is my first page- the first one I've ever made. It was fun.

05-30-2009, 06:01 PM

Here is my next one.

05-30-2009, 07:21 PM
Wow - great 4x4's everyone!!

05-30-2009, 08:55 PM
Here is one for dmnh if she wants it...................If she don't it will be available........ traded

05-30-2009, 09:08 PM
oooooo if she doesn't want it- I do!!! That is great!!!!

05-30-2009, 09:45 PM
if I can come up with something Monarch wants to trade me for that elephant, it's mine!
Love your dragonfly page, Cheery!
I know I said I'd be back in an hour or so to show you all some pages, but obviously that did not happen! A trip to the lake with the dog interrupted the CPAT. But fear not! Here are 3 chunkys for you all to look at! Let me know if anyone wants one, please.
Right now, I'm headed to my sister's house and you'll more than likely not get anymore chunkys from me tonight.

Excellent work you all!

Just give me a description of the one you're interested in please. Thanks for looking~!

First Fish (pink ribbon danglies) is traded

05-30-2009, 10:08 PM
Now I have gotten to wondering--as I am STILL trying to do my first page--what do you do with these? Do you attach them to each other somehow? Or what?

05-30-2009, 10:30 PM
Here is a fabric one.................

05-30-2009, 11:07 PM
Now I have gotten to wondering--as I am STILL trying to do my first page--what do you do with these? Do you attach them to each other somehow? Or what?

Most people bind then somehow from the left hand side. Some bind from the top or make wall hangings. You can bind with a variety of things like book rings, bind-it-all, ribbon, leather etc.

05-30-2009, 11:07 PM
Alright, after 2 days...here is my first attempt!

http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/gallery/images/459/medium/1_scan0526.jpg traded

I am looking for feedback--is this right? Is there stuff I am missing? I know I need to add beads or something to the edge...but, needed to scan. But, have I got the general hang of these?

05-30-2009, 11:09 PM
Here are two more:

Red Flower - Watercolour and Uni Pin fine line pens (Traded)

Lilac Flower - Letraset pro markers, Uni Pin fine line pens (Available)

All my chunkies don't have dangley bits. If you want dangly bits I can add them.

05-30-2009, 11:58 PM
Okay .. I'll start prepping some backgrounds tonight and then embellish tomorrow .... I want to play! Hopefully something will end up looking presentable! I am loving what you guys have done so far! ... grab a Guinness and to the studio I go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

05-31-2009, 12:07 AM
I want to make more but I'm getting sleepy!!! I will have more tomorrow.

05-31-2009, 01:17 AM
Here's another. Beeswax and napkins collage over vintage text.

05-31-2009, 01:23 AM
Beautiful Chunkies everybody!

I hope to make a few in the morning!!

05-31-2009, 01:39 AM
Helen where do you find such beautiul napkins? I keep looking but the pretrtiest one I've found was wine bottles and to big for atc's so I didn't buy it. The rest are for birthdays aor barbeques and such :dull:

05-31-2009, 01:43 AM
Linda ~ I found some great "kleenex" type at the grocery store and at Joann's and at Michael's. I also look everywhere I am shopping ` kitchen stores, Dollar Tree, wherever! (now you'll find them everywhere!!! just wait!!) .... oooo my handsome husband has just started the fire in the firepit ... grab a Guinness and out I go!!!!

05-31-2009, 01:51 AM
I haven't checked Joann's, the wine bottles were at the grocery store and I haven't found any I liked at the dollar stores. Sigh ...

Are the "kleenex" type napkins or kleenex? Gotta look again...

05-31-2009, 06:05 AM
Here is my first:

Collaged on heavy cardstock, back is white with my info. If necessary I can glue nice paper to it.

05-31-2009, 06:29 AM

05-31-2009, 08:19 AM

05-31-2009, 09:20 AM

05-31-2009, 10:47 AM
Another lovely 4 x 4 Tinka. If you would like to trade for it I have lilac flowers left which is in my gallery. I don't know if ill get anymore done as we have company for lunch.

I'm sorry Lynne, Bluelotusflower asked this one first...

05-31-2009, 10:58 AM
Here are a couple I worked on last night before I went to bed. I have not added any dangles or bits on the side yet...too hard to scan.

05-31-2009, 11:27 AM

Here is one I just finished. What are the thoughts on the dangles and side things?

05-31-2009, 12:07 PM
Good morning! Lovely pages you guys... I need to get busy!

Cheery: Thoughts on dangles and side things... I like 'em with OR without. If the piece is great without, I'm happy. If it's great with, I'm happy. How's that for an answer? LOL.

Neither I have done so far have dangles, but I have a couple I'm working on that probably will.

05-31-2009, 12:07 PM
my 3th one is finished:

05-31-2009, 12:31 PM
Thank you Helen!! Very helpful!! heheheeee!

05-31-2009, 01:14 PM
Here are my current available ones...................The kitty one is fabric...........

the first caterpillar is traded...................

Ooooh! I LOVE the hungry, hungry caterpillar!

05-31-2009, 01:49 PM

dmnh, here is an elephant for you if you like it!

05-31-2009, 01:57 PM
Ohhhhh I love this page.........................How cute!!!

05-31-2009, 02:14 PM
Cheery! That elephant is adorable! How did you do the background?

05-31-2009, 02:16 PM
OMG! Cheery that elephant is just too adorable! Yes, yes!!! I want him!

05-31-2009, 02:21 PM
Here in a bit, I'll have another few for you all to look at. Seems to be fish weekend for me! I have zentangle fishes, I have a fish drawn with markers on heavy cardstock and a collage fish which you won't see for a while still cause it's only about half done and the glue has to dry a bit before I can continue on with it. I also have a school of fish to offer too. I just need to do the backs of three of them and scan them. That shouldn't take too long if I've no interruptions.

Thanks so much for the elephants, monarch and cheery! Everyone is doing such a great job with chunkys this weekend. Beautiful work you all! I'm glad I stumbled upon this thread or I'd of missed out entirely!

05-31-2009, 02:23 PM
So I've been working on this one... it needs something but I can't figure out what. I tried butterflies, but none work. Asian images, but none work. It's beeswax, so embossing Asian script on top will be problematic. Maybe some gold thread dangles on the side... hmmmm.....

Asian Flower (Traded)

05-31-2009, 02:31 PM
I love it the way it is.........I'd take it on a heart beat.........

05-31-2009, 02:35 PM
I really like it, HHC...and if you add something I like the idea of gold...maybe gold images or threads up from the coin to bring your eye back around to the flower...just a thought.

I love everyone's chunky pages, but I probably won't get any done as I am trying to finish up some other projects.

Patti M
05-31-2009, 02:51 PM
HHC- love the beeswax napkins! The last one with the asian peony is gorgeous. As for chinese characters- I think the only pen that might work is a Krylon gold pen- just in case you ever wanted to try it.

05-31-2009, 03:48 PM
I'm sorry Lynne, Bluelotusflower asked this one first...

No problem Tinka.

Wonderful chunkies everyone. I had hoped to make some more but my day did not turn out as planned.

05-31-2009, 05:21 PM
Well, I have spent all day working on these three...and I am not sure I am really very happy with any of them! Ideas in my head, just aren't translating too great onto paper today.

Anyway, here they are...if someone wants to trade, let me know if you want fibers and other dangling bits.

http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/gallery/images/459/large/1_scan0531.jpg Had to get on the elephant bandwagon! LOL

05-31-2009, 05:23 PM
Here are three finished and ready to trade. If anyone is interested in these three just shoot me off a PM and we will work out the details.

bass fish is drawn in markers and attached to a cork coaster this one has traded

fish school is drawn with markers, sealed with acrylic glaze attached to a pc of a gameboard. You will need a heavy duty punch to put holes in it for binding.

zentangle fish is drawn in markers and attached to a cork coaster this one is traded

05-31-2009, 05:26 PM
Wonderful fish, dmnh!

05-31-2009, 05:27 PM
I really like all three of them, Tam! Course I'm partial to that elephant! I sent you a PM.
Too many really nice chunkys to choose from....you all are on fire!

05-31-2009, 05:29 PM
You know I been having trouble with those danglies today....sometimes I don't think they add a thing to the artwork and I'd rather not even put any on the page, but I have never not put danglies on....the ones today are just strings with nothing fancy added.
As to whether I prefer danglies on the pages I get in trade, makes me no difference if there are danglies or not.

05-31-2009, 06:37 PM
I will have one more chunky page for this CPAT. I should have it posted in an hour or so. These are three I still have to trade. If anyone wants one of them, please shoot me off a PM and we'll out the details.
Thanks so much for looking!

05-31-2009, 06:47 PM
Great pages!!!

05-31-2009, 07:24 PM
OK, now that I took the pressure off myself, what did I want to make...chunky pages!
So, here is an elephant for dmnh ~

05-31-2009, 07:26 PM
And here are available bird and flower pages ~

05-31-2009, 07:38 PM

05-31-2009, 07:54 PM
Remember - we still have tomorrow to play, if anyone still want to make more pages.................

05-31-2009, 08:19 PM
Oh goodie, I didn't pay attention to the ending date. :D

Here's two more... and yes, I'm stuck on napkins and beeswax! Both available. Let me know if you want dangles.

Oriental Poppies

05-31-2009, 09:12 PM
Okay, one more for a while. I'm keeping this one. :)

Kitties @window

05-31-2009, 09:16 PM
Oh wow!!! What a cool use of that new fabulous paper!!! Must get myself to Paper Zone to get more ... cuz ... I'm gonna copy you .... :jiggy:

Did you paint the background? Is THAT one of your fab napkins? ooooo ahhhh!!!:D

05-31-2009, 09:18 PM
Remember - we still have tomorrow to play, if anyone still want to make more pages.................

Great! Today was such a beautiful day with low humidity-rare in the Midwest in summer-that I had a hard time staying indoors. Glad to hear we can still play tomorrow.

05-31-2009, 09:24 PM
LOL! I'd love to say I painted the background, but it's from a magazine cover. :D If only I could paint like that.....

06-01-2009, 12:02 AM
What a wonderful card, HHC! I can see why you are keeping it!

06-01-2009, 01:46 AM
A fresh new day started for me and here are 2 new 4x4's of me. I won't have time this afternoon so I thought I better start early!

06-01-2009, 03:04 AM
And 2 more...

06-01-2009, 09:27 AM
Tinka, those are amazing!

06-01-2009, 02:00 PM
Thank you Cheery!
Here is another one:

06-01-2009, 11:56 PM
With swaps and other trades coming due, this is the only chunky I was able to finish. Need to add danglies, but I wanted to scan it flat so the image wasn't blurred.http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/gallery/images/2045/small/1_flutterby.gif

06-01-2009, 11:58 PM
Wow! Cool pages you guys. I had to work a long shift today, so didn't get any done. *pouty face*
Well, I worked on one this morning but it wasn't working so quit while I was behind. LOL

06-02-2009, 08:35 AM
Thank you all for playing this past weekend!!!!! I had fun!!!!

06-16-2009, 10:17 AM
Just posting to say SORRY, I have not finished the backs, and gotten the 4 X 4's done for the trades from this a-thon. Things have been crazy, busy! I promised myself to finish and get them into the mail on friday. Please forgive me, and be patient with me! They are coming! Also, I have gotten a couple in the mail, and will be leaving itrader soon!

06-20-2009, 07:55 AM
Signed, sealed and delivered (to the post office, anyway!)

Hope they make their way to you without any further adventures!
