Just stopping in to say hi everyone! Sorry to have to leave our great group :)

Are we going to decorate? I've brought along a comfy couch.

Let's hang some art prints

So - who is joining us for inky printing fun on Oct 18th? We'll be cutting printing blocks from cardboard so everyone should bring a sharp cutting tool and outline images to cut.

I'm wondering if chipboard cut outs could be used and then I could skip the tedious cutting part!?!

Sure, I don't see why not. The CPS article said you can use textured pieces to create patterns within the image. I was thinking of using some fabric in mine.

Russell

I still do not have my schedule for the 18th, but if I can make it what kind of images do I need? I'm not exactly clear on what we are doing I guess.

Janjo33
10-05-2009, 10:28 PM
Supposedly, we will cut a cardboard image with an exacto knife and use it as a printing block. I believe these blocks are normally sealed with varnish, but we may not have time to do that. I'm leaning toward bringing my chipboard alphabet and making a text printing block.

Russell

I hope I am not scheduled to work so I can join you. This sounds very interesting.

Happy Birthday Crazycat!

10-06-2009, 10:39 AM
Anyone interested in a Christmas card workshop at the Southport Archiver's should join Lisa and I there on Oct 21st at 6PM. It's four cards with diecuts and embossing and I think Angel Glimmer Mist. Two of our fun coworkers will also be there.
The cost is $15 and you have to reserve a spot: 780-7651.

The instructions in CPS suggests using a matte medium. I hadn't thought too much about how long it might take to dry. What if we used craft foam instead of cardboard? We can make two -- one with cardboard sealed with matte medium to take home and use later, and a second one made of craft foam pieces to make some same day prints. ???

I'd really like to take this, but how much $$$?

Does the matte medium just seal the cardboard so the ink/paint doesn't soak in? Can we use heat guns to speed drying? Should I bring fun foam?

Really, I had decided to use precut cardboard shapes, since I don't feel my carving skills to be good enough.

It's $15 - 4 cute cards - 2 hours of fun.

Russell

And you can use your 30% off coupon toward the cost of the class if you have one.

I checked my schedule and I am teaching the class that night!

Yes, I think the matte medium is meant to seal the cardboard so the ink doesn't soak in. I will experiment and see how long it takes to dry.

I have plenty of fun foam (somewhere), but if you have some handy go ahead and bring it along.

Janet, I don't think you need to worry about your carving skills. You should be able to use scissors to cut the cardboard if you want. I think using chipboard is a good idea, too.

I checked my schedule and I am teaching the class that night!

I have an out of town guest coming in so I'll need to double check our schedule to see if we're already booked -- lol

Hope to see some of you at crazycat's tomorrow!

I have my supplies about half gathered - what should I bring crazycat?

here's what I'm thinking:
chipboard for bases
thinner cardboard for cutting
image ideas
precut chipboard shapes (for cheating)
Exacto knife
spray glue
spray varnish
gel medium
big paintbrush
heatgun
acrylic paint
stamp pads
card stock to print on
snack

I bet you had a wonderful time! Mable777 and I were very busy at Archivers. Lots of customers, a seven hour swap going on and just the two of us working most of the day! But, we survived it.

Janjo33
10-22-2009, 12:18 PM
We're going to change up our plans for next month's get together! We'll be meeting at Archiver's on Southport Rd on Sunday, November 15th. For anyone who hasn't been there, they have a very comfortable craft room - big tables and good lighting.

This will be a FreeForAll! Bring whatever you're working on - ATCs, Chunkies or Christmas cards. If you have a quick project to share, make-and-takes are also welcome.

So, who's interested? We'll decide on times later - but Archiver's is open from 11 to 6 on Sundays. Janet

Yippie! I won't have to clean my basement! LOLOLOL

This sounds great. When we decide on a time, I'll send out the Evite.

Russell
10-26-2009, 01:47 PM
The earlier we get there the better choice of spaces we will have. Some Sundays the workroom is buiser than others. I will be there at 11:00 to grab some spots.

crazycat
10-26-2009, 05:06 PM
I sent out the Evite with a start time of 11 a.m. I guess we can stay there until we're kicked out, right? lol:chatterbox:

Janjo33
10-26-2009, 10:04 PM
When we get closer, we can all decide what time we'll be able to arrive. I'm hoping we can get lots of people and everyone will feel comfortable coming and going. Of course, I love all day art!

Russell
10-27-2009, 06:19 AM
I was in the store last night (doing a class) and found out that there is a photographer schedueld to set up in the workroom that day (professional family portraits on a CD for $20.00). I talked with the GM and she said we could have the classroom, but we cannot get it until 2:30 because of a class going on that day.

crazycat
10-27-2009, 09:53 AM
Does that mean we can't meet until 2 o'clock or should we still meet at 11 and play it by ear?

Russell
10-27-2009, 10:58 AM
We won't have a place to work until about 2:30 that day. The workroom will be filled with the photography stuff. The classroom has a free holiday card showcase class that should be done between 2:00 and 2:30.

Janjo33
10-27-2009, 12:39 PM
Okay - I say let's make the official hours 2:30 till 6. If anyone wants to shop beforehand (or get their photo taken!) they can go a little earlier.

Russell
10-28-2009, 10:50 AM

Here's some news!

Awhile back, I created a FB fan page for The Flying Cupcake (http://www.theflyingcupcakebakery.com/) bakery in Indy. Yesterday the owner of The Flying Cupcake contacted me via FB because she wanted to start a FB page for her biz, but I had already taken the name (plus my page has picked up 400+ fans!). I told her no problem, I would just transfer Admin powers over to her. As a thank you for helping her out, she offered me a dozen cupcakes of any kind I want!

Although I'm sure I could eat them all by myself (lol) I want to share them with y'all, so I thought I'd pick them up on my way to Archivers on the 15th.

Any requests?

Janjo33
11-04-2009, 10:43 PM
Spice cake with lemon frosting - LOL - all cupcakes are good!

Janjo33
11-08-2009, 11:58 PM
Okay - everyone should be getting art supplies together for next Sunday. I haven't actually decided what to bring. But I totally revamped my craft area this weekend, so many lost goodies have come back in view. Not to mention the cleared workspace on my desk - LOL

crazycat
11-10-2009, 10:28 AM
Cat update: It turns out this Sunday is the "social" for Kevin's RCIA class. Guess what time? 2-3 pm, of course! There's no way I can give it a skip and have a clear conscious, so I'm going to try to do both. I may not get there with cupcakes until 4pm. Does the store close at 6? Were we going out for dinner afterward?

Janjo33
11-10-2009, 08:07 PM
I'm up for dinner. There's several places close by - Uno's Pizza - which actually has way more than pizza - and O'Charley's. Those would both be the easiest because they're right in the parking lot.

Russell
11-15-2009, 10:43 AM
There is also a Longhorn in the parking lot and just on the other side of the interstate is Cheeseburger in Paradise, Steak and Shake, Texas Roadhouse, and several other places.

Janjo33
11-15-2009, 10:34 PM
I do want to try Cheeseburger in Paradise one day :P

11-16-2009, 10:26 AM
That was a fun little gathering at Archiver's yesterday! I enjoyed meeting Janjo33, even if she doesn't like vintage OR pop dots. ;)

crazycat, I'm sorry I didn't get to meet you! Next time, right?

Russell, it's so good to be double-sided real friends, which I think is sort of like double-sided red tape, except even better. See you soon!

Russell
11-16-2009, 01:38 PM
Maybe stronger than double sided red tape - although that stuff is pretty strong!

crazycat
11-16-2009, 08:48 PM
Sorry I didn't show. After the RCIA thingy, I was too tired to drive so I decided to take a "short nap" which means I woke up around 6:30. Sorry!

Janjo33
11-16-2009, 09:16 PM

If there is any interest in going to teh Arvey Paper store in December - they are at 1021 North Pennsylvania, Indianapolis, IN 46204. We had tossed out the idea of going to the store and doing a lunch somewhere downtown for our December get together.

Store Hours: M-F 7:30 am - 5:30 pm SAT. 9 am - 1 pm SUN. closed

crazycat
11-25-2009, 12:53 AM

AnnD
11-25-2009, 01:21 AM
I am excited but slightly frightened to go to a paper store that's new to me. If they're overflowing with completely brilliant things, you may need to tie me to the mast and cover my eyes, Odysseus style.

Russell
11-25-2009, 04:53 PM
Ah yes, the siren song of the paper harpies - we have all fallen prey to it from time to time!

crazycat
11-28-2009, 12:28 PM
I'm going to be out of town until after the 7th. I don't suppose we could do it after I come back? *hopeful look*

Russell
11-29-2009, 02:44 PM
I'm fine with waiting until after the 7th.

Janjo33
11-30-2009, 10:58 PM
So the 12th or 19th? Those are Saturdays - I can also do a weekday with a little advance notice

Russell
12-02-2009, 10:15 AM
From what I can tell it looks like the 19th would be good for me.

AnnD
12-02-2009, 10:42 AM
My calendar thinks the 19th is a Tuesday.

GoldenWolf
12-02-2009, 11:55 AM
If it's December 19th, I might be able to come up if the weather holds.

Russell
12-03-2009, 08:31 AM
AnnD - you do know you have to get a new calendar each year don't you? I know the numbers are the same, but the actual days they fall on change from year to year.

AnnD
12-03-2009, 09:54 AM
That's cute, Russell. I'm looking at a calendar in Outlook. It says January 2010 at the top, and then it says the 19th is a Tuesday. When I go on the internet and type January 2010 calendar, I still get that the 19th is a Tuesday. So I'm guessing . . . a) my computer is bewitched by an Evil Paper Queen who wants to make me miss this field trip; or b) the 19th is a Tuesday.

Vicki Z
12-03-2009, 11:13 AM
Yeh AnnD. JANUARY 19th is a Tuesday!!! My outlook says so too.

Of course, I think these folks are looking at meeting DECEMBER 19th, which is a Saturday.

I mention it only because I was trying to figure out if I could crash your little get-togethers, and how long it would take me to drive there.

You have no idea how jealous I am!!!!

GoldenWolf
12-03-2009, 11:25 AM
I thought maybe I was confused about the month, but back in post #45, Russell said December.

Is Arvey mostly cardstock or do they have decorative/handmade papers too?

AnnD
12-03-2009, 11:26 AM
LOL!

Nifty husband's birthday is January 7, so for whatever reason, when crafty cat said the 7th, I jumped right to January. Had no notion at all we were still talking about December! I are very, very bright - honest.

Vicki, we would LOVE to have you come down and crash! And if December doesn't work, we should plan a separate thing, don't you think?

Vicki Z
12-03-2009, 11:34 AM
Hey, slow down.
I have to figure how long it will take to get there, and how I can work this trip into my schedule.
That is the reason I haven't posted on this thread until now . . . . .

But I couldn't resist the temtation to say something about your Outlook (calendar and otherwise!!)

Russell
12-04-2009, 09:52 AM
Oh Ann, You do make me laugh so! Almost as much as Katilady's tag lines which nearly caused me to spit tea on my computer screen yesterday morning!

Vicki - work that trip into your schedule and we will plan a get together around you! That would be quite a treat!

GoldenWolf - I have not been to the store so it will be an adventure to see what all they have. I have heard from other friends that it is a great place though.

AnnD
12-04-2009, 11:23 AM
So . . . now that we're all talking about the same month (ahem), I am going to be in Chicago on 12/19 for my annual Mensa meeting (or I'm visiting my BFF from childhood - one of those). Please don't feel like you have to work around me, but if you wanted to work around me, I would not cry.

crazycat
12-05-2009, 12:56 PM
, and how I can work this trip into my schedule.

Let me know if you need a place to stay.

be in Chicago on 12/19 for my annual Mensa meeting .

You too??

Janjo33
12-05-2009, 01:48 PM
We need a place to eat, too. A couple of my faves are Bourbon St and Acapulco Joe's.

Russell
12-07-2009, 02:01 PM
I like both of those places.

Janjo33
12-08-2009, 06:24 PM
Okey-dokey, we need to pick a time and find out who can come! I'll try to make a poll here and hold it open through Thursday.
Yoohoo - CrazyCat - want to send an Evite for us? Or want to send it on Thursday when we have a time?

Janjo33
12-08-2009, 06:30 PM
10 AM is winning with 100% of the vote - oh wait that's my solitary vote :D

I figure, meet at store at 10, shop for 90 minutes, go eat about 11:30.

Janjo33
12-08-2009, 06:37 PM
OMG - they have mica-coated paper - now I really can't wait till Saturday. (I may sneak over on my lunch hour LOL) Arvey Paper (https://shop.xpedxstores.com/Portal.aspx)

Meeting at the store at 10 AM and then going to lunch sounds great to me!

GoldenWolf
12-09-2009, 09:55 PM
I voted for 11 am just because I'll be coming from Bloomington and I'm not a morning person by choice. If 10 am is the majority choice though, I'll be there then. Is it okay if I bring my BF if he wants to come? He does make cards so he might enjoy going through a good paper store.

crazycat
12-09-2009, 09:59 PM
I can send out the Evite: 10 a.m. on Saturday the 19th? Where are we meeting at?

Janjo33
12-09-2009, 11:22 PM
At the paper store - 1021 N Pennsylvania. 10:30AM would work too - since I see we have one vote for 11AM.

Janjo33
12-09-2009, 11:23 PM
Goldenwolf - I may bring my b/f too - depends on if he works overtime on Saturday.

Janjo33
12-11-2009, 04:04 PM
Any one else want to join us next Saturday? We have Russell, crazycat, GoldenWolf and me so far. The more the merrying - bring a friend!

I'm opening another poll with an end date next Thursday. So even if you voted on a particular time before, you can now pick a different one.

Russell
12-14-2009, 08:54 AM
I'm pretty open for most any time. I saw my friends on Saturday who told me about this store. They said that if you have a business license the store will set up an account for you and you get an even better price on their papers.

Have we reached a decision on where to eat yet? Any preferences between Bourbon Street and Acapulco Joe's?

Janjo33
12-14-2009, 09:54 PM
The nice moderators removed the poll - I didn't realize it's one poll per thread and then you're done!

This time, let's all state our preferences here and come to an agreement by Saturday. Mine are:
Meet at paper store 10:30.
Eat at Bourbon St at about noon.

Russell, did your friends say whether the store has a huge selection like the website has?

Lisa will be coming with me and I'll email my sister. Boyfriend still wants to come if he doesn't work next Saturday. :D

Russell
12-15-2009, 07:45 AM
10:30 works well for me also and I love Bourbon Street. My friends said it was like a big paper warehouse with industrial racks of papers. Jack may come with me also.

Janet - I may have some more donated stuff for your sister. If she does not come on Saturday can I send it with you?

Janjo33
12-15-2009, 07:02 PM
OOOOHH - a warehouse of paper - I'm all about that!

I think Dorothy is coming, but I can always carry items to her, too.

Russell
12-16-2009, 09:39 AM
I have not seen an e-vite for this outing - did one go out and I missed it? Just curious about how many people would be joining us for this field trip.

AnnD
12-16-2009, 09:59 AM
Not I. Sob.

Janjo33
12-16-2009, 03:04 PM
c-cat hasn't been on here since 12/9 - should we check on her!?!

GoldenWolf
12-16-2009, 04:26 PM
Well, I just checked my email that I typically get the Evites at and there was nothing. I hope she's okay.

I am planning on coming to Arvey's this Saturday though barring bad weather etc. I have your phone # so I can contact you if we can't come.

AnnD
12-16-2009, 05:27 PM
More sorrow, GoldenWolf! I don't get to meet you IRL!

GoldenWolf
12-16-2009, 09:32 PM
I'm sure we'll meet up one of these days, Ann. I go to Bloomington every other weekend. I just have to get my schedule to mesh with the meetings is all. Sorry I'll miss you this time though.

crazycat
12-17-2009, 01:20 PM
I've got a cold. Sorry I fell down on the job on getting the Evite out. I had a vague idea I had sent it, but it must have been the cold medicine.

At this point, although I really want to join you, I doubt I'm going to be well enough to come.

Why does the cry smiley have sideburns?

Janjo33
12-17-2009, 10:24 PM
awwww - we'll let you know how the shopping goes!

Janjo33

The Arvey Paper store trip was fun. All there paper is in 25 packs or more, so you have to be prepared to spend some $$

We did find some wonderful deals on bristol cardstock in their clearance section and I got a lage package of textured cardstock for only $7.99. It was a fun store to browse.

By the way Ann - with as many people as you are going to have in that clown car I think you may want the cruise set on faster than 35 to get them to their destination.

AnnD
12-22-2009, 11:32 AM
That's a line from Revenge of the Nerds. But with all the people in that car, I should probably be pushing 75 instead of quoting movie dads.

Merry Christmas to all my arty friends out there!

Janjo33
12-26-2009, 06:13 AM
Let's get some discussion going about 2010. Any ideas for art themes or field trips in the new year?

If there's a Saturday or Sunday in January when the workroom is open at Archiver's, I think we should plan to meet there. I like the big tables and good lighting.

Russell

A quick look at the class schedule shows January 10th as the only Sunday without a class, but we could meet any Sunday if we get there early and stake out some space. The workroom is always open on a first come first serve basis. They open at 11:00 on Sundays and 10:00 on Saturdays.

Any new techniques anyone would like to explore? I would love it if Lisa could show us how to use the encaustic wax she gave us. I would also like to know more about the felting she does.

I'm open to dates and January 10th is good for me. January is always a fine month for working on Valentines. I'm picturing cards, ATCs and Chunkies!

Russell

How about a valentine chunky swap?

Janjo33

Love the idea of an valentine chunky swap. Of course I can't get enough chunkies :D

Sounds good to me.

I just remembered that I don't leave the house when the temp is below 20. I think it was the 90 minute commute into work this morning that has me on strike for the rest of the winter.

But I'd love to do a get together in February!

Russell
01-11-2010, 07:52 AM
Had a wonderful time with Crazycat and AnnD yesterday making some art and just hanging out. Even Mable777 stopped by for a visit.

AnnD

Oh no, Janet, there were snow drifts 50 ft deep outside the store. That's why once I got there I found it so hard to leave...:D At least, that's what I'm telling Kevin.

I know that this is way in advance and the vendor list hasn't been announced yet, but is anyone else planning on going to the rubber stamp show at the fairgrounds the first weekend of March? My BF and I usually go.

I've been a little bit disappointed in the last one because they seemed to have a lot of the direct stamping companies like Stampin' Up, but they still have enough companies I do enjoy like Coffee Break Designs (great stencils, sometimes has Masonite and circuit boards cut to ATC size), Third Coast, Stampland and Stamp Camp, that I feel it's worth the trip from Bloomington. I usually go up on Saturday. If there are enough of us going, maybe we could do some in person trades?

AnnD
01-19-2010, 02:37 PM
That would be fun! I was disappointed last year, too, but probably not enough to stay away completely. The lure of the stamps is too strong . . .

Janjo33
01-19-2010, 11:56 PM
LittleRedShoeDesigns: I added you to the first message of the group - welcome!

Mable777: Stop in and subscribe to this thread and I'll add you to our list, too.

I'm beginning to think we should meet at the fairgrounds in March. The rubberstamp festival would make a great outing. We could all meet in the snack area at a certain time and trade ATCs or show off our purchases.

Janjo3--oops, didn't know I was official yet, thanks!!

Russell
01-20-2010, 12:00 PM
I do enjoy like Coffee Break Designs (great stencils, sometimes has Masonite and circuit boards cut to ATC size),

Coffee Break Designs has an amazing sale out of his studio the first Saturday in June. I got loads of stuff for hardly any money last year. He sells off all his older stuff. He had unmounted rubber stamps for .25 each and those acrylic ATC blanks 10 for $1.00.

LittleRedShoeDesigns
01-21-2010, 12:41 AM
OOO....this Coffee Break Designs sounds promising, if not just for it's great name!

Janjo33

The 31st? Russell - check the Archiver's schedule for us. But if the weather goes south, I'll probably be a no-show again.

Russell
01-22-2010, 12:40 PM
The workroom will be open. I am doing an ATC class in the classroom at noon and then there will be some open swapping after that. We have a theme of "circus", but any cards can be traded.

AnnD
01-22-2010, 12:58 PM
I'm bringing an apple for the teacher because I want an A and a star on my chart.

Russell
01-23-2010, 09:55 PM
That's pretty funny considering the teacher persuaded you to sign up for the class just so there would be one friendly face in the mix.

AnnD
01-23-2010, 10:34 PM
OK, I won't bring you an apple. I will bring my friendly face.

I still want a gold star. ;)

crazycat

Janjo33
01-24-2010, 08:33 PM
Ann - what is Food, Inc?

Russell - how long do you think the ATC class will last? Are there still openings? I haven't decided whether 12:00 is good for me - or 2:oo.

AnnD
01-24-2010, 09:01 PM
Food Inc. is a documentary about the food industry and big agriculture. Jason is a videographer, and at 1:22:22, you can hear Jason speaking as he's filming the opening of a particular witness' deposition.

Russell
01-25-2010, 08:09 AM
Janet - The ATC class whould be about two hours and as far as I know there are still some openings.

Russell
02-01-2010, 02:42 PM

Russell
02-04-2010, 07:38 AM
Saturdays are fine with me. I think I am open on the 13th. The 20th is make and take weekend at Archivers so I am pretty sure I will be working. No idea about the 27th at this time.

AnnD

My 13th is booked as well. I think I'm open for either Sat or Sun for the next few weeks.

Also, I spoke with Dana earlier this week and she says she misses us.

Janjo33
03-06-2010, 05:13 PM
How about April 3rd at Archiver's? Alternately, I could see doing a weekday evening, too, now that there's more daylight.

A date and a theme would be great. Anyone have ideas?

Russell
03-07-2010, 10:32 AM
Janjo33, AnnD, Mable777 and clmath1423 - it was great seeing all of you at the stamp show yesterday. I know I got a lot of fun new stamps to play with - how about you?

Janjo33
03-07-2010, 05:44 PM
Woohoo - I tried one of the brass stencils I bought and it embossed really well using my Big Shot. And I sprayed it with the Ritzy Ditzy Glitz - looks great.

The stamp festival is fun, but tiring. And it's really good to have a limited budget because I could have bought several things from each vendor!

clmath1423
03-11-2010, 02:22 PM
I got some great deals on unmounted stamps and placed an online order with Lost Coast- yeah! I will be out of town from the 14th to the 19th of mrch but Id love to get together any other time- April 3rd is Easter weekend, will that pose a problem for anyone?

Anyone been to Gallery 116 in Fishers? I went with my sister on Saturday and they have a really eclectic variety of art and jewelry for sale. It's mostly local artists - some pricey, but lots of stuff under $20. I got a beaded dangling thing to hang in my kitchen window.

crazycat
03-27-2010, 04:57 AM
Is there a particular time we'd be meeting? Not that I'd go, because if I say I'm going to be there then something -- transmission trouble, cat in need of rescue, outbreak of plague -- will prevent me from attending. However, you never know when I might be making a Flower Factory run...

clmath1423
03-27-2010, 06:39 PM
Im hoping to be there when they open at 10:00AM...

Russell
03-30-2010, 06:31 AM
If I can get the day off I would like to be there when they open as well. If not, I would hope to be there for the evening at least.

The ATC class/swap is on April 25th. Class will begin at noon and usually lasts about two hours so there will be time afterwards to make and trade some ATC's as well. I hope we get a lot of folks there to create and trade their art. We do have a theme (Western) although it is by no means necessary to stick with just that one category. Cards of all types can be traded - there are just some people who have requested we assign a theme so they can have some direction to work in.

clmath1423
03-30-2010, 08:28 AM
Western sounds fun! I will pull up my boots and throw on my chaps and be there.... Giddy up, partner!

Okay Indy Peeps - any interest in planning a get together for some time in June?

Janjo33
05-15-2010, 09:11 AM
I'm interested in art gatherings anytime in June except the 2nd weekend.

I'm going to try to get off work on the third Thursday every month, so I can continue to crash the Third Thursday group at Archivers. I'll be able to come this coming week for sure - probably arriving early afternoon.

ghillietoes42
05-15-2010, 08:24 PM
I'll be moving to college in Terre Haute (1 hour south of Indianapolis) at the end of August, and will be there through the school year (though not summers) for my four years of college. I'll probably be in Indianapolis at least once every week or two. Could this count for joining at some point?

LittleRedShoeDesigns
05-15-2010, 10:35 PM

ghillietoes42,
We would love to have you! Do you think you would be able to come over to Indy? We try to have some sort of get together once a month. There has been some fall off of late, but maybe we just need some enthusiastic new members! :D

LittleRedShoeDesigns,
The Thursday thing is on the third Thursday of every month at the southside Archiver's. Good news - that's this coming Thursday! I'll be there and I'm sure some others will come, some are not members here at ATCsForAll, but all fun, creative people. Hope you can come on the 20th.

That is such a wonderful idea (card for troops)!! I would love to do that. Would it be possible to make some on my own and to drop some off that day?? The reason I ask is I am currently in the process of moving from Columbus to NW Indy and don't know if I can make it! How bitter-sweet!! I'll actually be up there tomorrow (with my hubby and toddler) looking for rentals...so I guess I'm saying I have to flake on the Archiver's meet!

So, what are all the IndyArting folk up to now?

Well, I'm not in Indy (still), but I should be getting housing info soon! I'm so excited - for school and hopefully joining you all! End of August is moving time - it's coming up really quickly now.

I joined the June PAT (my first PAT) and made 4 fabric ATCs. I suppose no one knows that I started in fabric ATCs, well that and rubber stamped ATCs :D

I visited the new park "100 Acres" at the IMA this weekend. It's very tranquil.

Good luck with your move, ghillietoes!

Janet, I am so excited to see the new park! I've been a little chary of roaming about in this heat, but I'm going to have to get over myself, because I don't think the high temperatures are going anywhere!

I've been recovering from Rochester. Honestly, today is the first day I've truly felt like myself from morning 'til night. Yeesh. I am definitely not 21 anymore!

Ghillietoes - where are you going to be attending school? I ask because I work for one of the local universities.

Janjo33 - I checked your gallery - those fabric ATC's are very cool. I also loved your kickball chunky page. We may have to talk about a trade sometime when I feel more caught up than I am now.

Ann - it sucks to get older huh?!

Russel - I'll be at Rose-Hulman, in Terre Haute. It's a bit of a drive to Indianapolis, but it should be a nice break on occasion. Where do you work?

Thanks, AnnD!

I work at IUPUI (right downtown in Indianapolis) - Terre Haute is a little ways from Indy, but not too bad. Rose-Hulman is a very good school - congratulations on getting in!

Nice! I looked into IUPUI, too (and got quite a bit of mail)! I love that area...

Thanks Russell - I had a lot of fun with that Kickball chunky - hated to give it away.

What are we going to do next Thursday? The usual = whatever we want? I can come after lunch and will try to come after lunch and not 4 or 5 hours after lunch LOL

I have the day off so I plan to be there early to stake out some space. Hopefully I will get more than just socializing done this time.

Russell

I have not tried Swisscuits yet, but I did get some more of those fire roasted tomatoe and olive oil triscuits and I have the swiss cheese already so I may be trying them soon.

Those fancy gourmet Triscuits were good! I have to say I demolished those pretty quickly after they came home with me!

My goal for the month of August is to have the 3rd Thursday (+the day before and after) completely free of entanglements so I can GTFO and come join you.

Janjo33
07-20-2010, 08:59 PM
In August I have two appointments scheduled. Stupidly, they are at 12:00 and 4:00, so will have to work in my attendance at our 3rd Thursday either between or after. I will wait and see what time others plan to go.

Hi! I thought I was a member, but didn't see my name on the list. I know I'm not terribly active, but I wanna be! Does that count?

OK. Maybe I looked at an old list, because I see that I am included. Sorry for my confusion. When I think of a good excuse, I'll post it! :wideeyed:

I am SUPER determined to keep the right day Free.

What day are you getting together in August??

Janjo33
08-09-2010, 08:44 AM
It's the third Thursday, August 19th. I will have to attend in the evening - I think. I have appointments that day at noon and at 4:10 - which was rather poor planning. :D

I have the Rosemary and Olive Oil Triscuits in my desk right now, but I still like the fire roasted tomato ones better.

So I'm dropping Krystal off at IUPUI around 1 o'clock on TH. She seems to be rather resistant to waiting until 5 for me to pick her up, but I'm rather resistant to only having an hour to spend with you guys at Archivers. I'm not sure how this is going to pan out, but I plan on being there.

Janjo33

I have to come after appt at 4:10 - but should arrive around 5. Hope someo peeps are still making art when I get there!

I had a SUPER time yesterday and want to thank everyone for making me feel welcome. However, I must confess, I've now eaten all but 4 of the scones. I am SO off my eating plan...
