The All Types of Art-a-thon is scheduled for next weekend... brought to you by co-hosts Sniisk and HHC.

What we're doing is having a marathon CREATE YOUR FAVORITE ART weekend, done over the same day and time in each time zone... kind of like we were all together for the weekend to play with our art supplies.

We'll be creating ATCs, chunky pages, 4x4s, 4x6s, inchies, twinchies, charms, jewelry, art dolls, skinny pages, journal pages, tags, rollos, gothic arches, post cards or whatever type of art your heart calls you to create.

And we'll be collaging, sewing, painting, drawing, digital altering, photographs, metal work, beading, sculpting...

You can trade if you wish, or just show us your work. Or just stop in to admire what everyone is doing and chat.

EVERYONE is welcome to come play/visit.

Anyone else getting ready? ;)

This is something to look forward too!

There are actually quite a few out there in a range of sizes, the smallest being a business card scanner that fits in the palm of your hand. I opted for a slightly larger and more expensive model because I have business uses as well. Still it's around 1lb maybe a pound and a half and approx. $280. They have prices ranging from $99 though and maybe even less, I didn't shop it. Let me know if you want a link and I'll PM one to you.

Here is a link to range of portable scanners. I would stay away from the Neat Receipt Scanner, while it is portable and scans beautifully the software is set for strictly a business application and is very difficult to work with (first one I tried, not good for art.) I've had very good luck with Fujitsu Scanners. http://www.bizrate.com/scanners/portable-scanner/

Sanna, thanks for the info! I've been feeling kind of blah creatively lately, so maybe this will give me a little jump start!

Ugh, I really need to do some organizing and cleaning. I have piles of Halloween type stuff everywhere...

Pippin, I challenge you to take any scraps from your granddaughters' dresses and use them in an ATC, collage, art doll, or whatever.
