We're back! So the deal is a classic PIF, you post three recipe genres that you would like and the next person chooses one, lists their three choices and sends you a delectable card...

It has to be a 5" x 3" card and that's the only rule, one side, two sides, draw it, collage it, fold it, send anecdotes... PLEASE have some fun and do more than just cut and paste! And post your card here before sending so we can drool! :jiggy:

The first to sign-up will receive an awesome chicken breast recipe I invented last night!

I don't know where we left off (sorry) so I'd like:

a family pasta
a muffin with no nuts to send to school
a fudge recipe
:jiggy:

I would LOVE it if someone could gift me with a recipe . . .

for an easy lamb dish
for something that uses quinoa
for a fast one-pot or one-skillet dinner
or
for an entree that will make my chef husband say, "WOW! You made this for me!?"

KO PaperScraps...Here you are. Does this sound appetizing to you? I have your addy. Will post tomorrow AM if I am up early enough. I don't want it to sit in the damp mailbox all night.

Hope you like it! If not, this recipe is up for grabs and I will make a new one for you. I wasn't sure if you eat seafood. (Mods, please don't worry about blurbing my email on this post.)

{Queen of afterthought. I edit most all my posts, at least for typos. I just want to add that the labels on the front are both neon. Neon will not scan well. They remind me of sale stickers in the store. The Albertson's (a grocery store in Florida and maybe elsewhere...now out of business, I think) label is authentic, cut from a box of chalk pastels!}

Caster sugar, is just a finer grain than regular granulated sugar. Not like icing sugar tho, its a good bit chunkier than that. Did that help? probably not... Ria, Ria, calling Ria...

* check out amy's vamped up avatar - oooOoh!*

Hi Amyfaerie, this what I found to best describe it

Castor sugar : Castor or caster sugar is the name of a very fine granulated sugar in Britain, so named because the grains are small enough to fit though a sugar "caster" or sprinkler. Because of its fineness, it dissolves more quickly than regular white sugar, and so is especially useful in meringues and cold liquids. It is not as fine as powder sugar, which has been crushed mechanically (and generally mixed with a little starch to keep it from clumping).
If you can't get it, then regular sugar would do!

Ok, dumb question... I offered a recipe to someone... do I need to PM them to get their addy, or what? And do I PM the person who offered me a recipe? I am new at the recipe exchange...want to do it right!
Also, the size is 5x3? (Duh, I just thought... it's the same as 3x5! Where's my brain this morning???)
So if anyone can answer my silly questions, I'd appreciate it!

Hi
I PM'd grrrdjules this question but wondered if someone else can post a reply as I need the answer quickly so I can get the card done. Can we make say two cards for the same recipe if the instructions are lengthy?
It would end up like this front of card artwork back of card ingredients. Front of 2nd card instructions with art work on the back. The two cards would be attatched with ribbon so they fold together.
Does that make sense?
Or if three were needeed repeating things for card 2 so you have three cards attached.
I just wondered as the cards are small and I wnat to get it right this is my first time making recipe cards.
Sorry if this is daft question.

Stormarela, here is your BBQ recipe, Flank Steak. Since you are in canada, I will let you in on my lazy secret, sometimes I use PC Memories of Kobi Sauce instead of doing the full marinade. It is very similar, but more salty. Shhh don't tell anyone. I made a pocket with instructions inside, since you really won't need them after you've done it once, you will just need the ingredients. Oh, and I still need your address.

Is this strictly a PIF or can already made cards be posted here for trade?

Siena
09-12-2008, 12:11 PM
I believe it's strictly PIF...
But I was thinking about starting another kind of recipe swap. One person could offer three recipes that they would make (or have already made)... recipes that are tried, tested favourites like Mom's Famous Spaghetti Sauce and Miller Family Traditional Spice Cake, or whatever... so you offer up three of your best recipes, and someone claims one and offers three of their best.

What do you think? Would it work? Would anyone like to play?

Ok, Malinmaskros, Dahl Soup for you it is! I have to tell you, I LOVE this recipe... it's easy, and super healthy, and tastes FAB in the fall and winter.

Did anyone see my post #211 about doing an opposite style recipe PIF? Thoughts?

I would like:
- A fairly healthy oatmeal bar recipe--like something you'd send in a kid's lunchbox instead of a granola bar.

- Any tried and tested family favourite (meal, not dessert)

- Your very best muffin recipe (sweet is ok, but not TOO sweet!)

Hey, I've left this thread too long, I so want some more recipes!!!!!!!!
Have made all the ones I have received up till now, so what's up we offer 3 recipes? I can still offer recipes for the carnivores out there although I don't indulge I still cook for the rest of my family and they ARE CARNIVORES, I just make sure the poor creatures have had a good life and a quick end ( gulp!) Luckily enough I live next to a farm that keeps it's own poultry so I know they are happy ( not they are going around with big smiles or anything), but they do have lots of freedom running around a huge yard and field ( best place to get eggs!!!!!!), and the owners do try and make their lives as comfortable as posssible!

Anyways I'm still in for a few more veggie or vegan recipes and saw on this thread Dahl soup ( Yum Yum!!!!!!)

WHO's THAT HIDING UNDER A ROCK ????????? Get out Girl!
To keep interest going - sometime changes are good!!!!!!!! This is the rebel speaking (or is it the wine????? - Oh yes - drinking in the afternoon - what A Lush!!!! and do I care NOOOOOOO!!!!!!!,. and even worse I'm drinking on my own - Whoopee!, now tell me you are all jealous, OH YEh!!!!!!!)

Right so I don't get confused and be warned it don't take alot to get me confused, especially at my age - do I offer to make the oatmeal bar (I'm thinking flapjack here ) or do I now offer 3 recipes ????????

Ria
09-15-2008, 12:15 PM
I was just reading this and am drooling, OMG keyboard is now sopping wet !!!!!! SORRY, I'm just hungry, so much art to catch up with I forgot to cook dinner - sounds delicious, I'm going to try and print this off and have a go!!!!!! (NIfty bit of stealing!!!! Ha Ha! )
