January 2010 RAK Attack!

Welcome to the January 2010 RAK Attack!




A RAK is a Random Act of Kindness, and a RAK Attack is this group of participants mailing some sort of surprise to a ‘victim’ who is selected by vote through private messages sent by you. Please try to send the name/user name of the ATCsforALL member and their address (if available) when you sign up. (Please one nominee, per person.)


This is not a popularity contest it is simply our small way of spreading cheer in our little community. This particular RAK is intended for members of ATCsforAll. If you have friends in need of a RAK feel free to open a new thread and let us know, there's always someone to step up and contribute.

One person per month, not the same person in a year. A list is maintained to assure no repeats. If you nominate someone who is ineligible I will send you a private message to send in alternate nominations. The RAK host (me) cannot be RAKed.

Who to nominate and why?



Any member who is going through a rough time and could use a smile, who has been especially helpful or accommodating, the victim does not have to be a participant in the monthly RAK, just any member of ATCsforAll.

What to Send On a RAK Attack



Anything Goes: ATCs, Arty bits, cards, Handwritten written wishes on handmade or pretty stationary, Envies, Handmade stationary for gift, Candy, cookies, Stickers, Books, Artwork, Encouraging words, Poetry, favorite quotes. You decide what to send based on how much time you have and what your budget is, look to the supplies you already have and all it will cost you is a stamp.


How Do I participate?:
1. Post in this thread to sign up

2. PM me one member nomination and their address, if you have this info, it is extremely helpful. This information is always kept secret from the participants so do not ask.

3. I will PM you all with the address of the RAK recipient.
Expect to see this info around the 15th-20th of the month. You can only receive this information from the host (me) so please do not ask others.

This is a surprise! Please do not tell the RAK recipient-let them find out in the mail.



Please PM me if you have any questions.

Remember, the RAK is to bring a smile to somebody and show them we care.

All participants welcomed! Nominations accepted until the 14th of the month.

Today in the mail i rec'd a package from our dear organizer.....i am so humbled to the January RAK honoree.
Today was a very painful day for me, i woke up in pain crying. Feeling down and discouraged.
My hands are slowly getting better, in the midst of my dog being so sick, my niece 12 yrs old being dx'd with cancer, her first treatment is tomorrow and because of all this stress i got shingles, terrible pain. In the midst of this i see a glimmer of love and randomness and i now get it, how these RAK's can make a persons day.
With tears in my eyes, i want to thank you all for thinking of me and as each little thing comes in the mail i will let you know.

My mailbox was overflowing with love today...a vibrant happy heart funky flower zentangle by Robin, a adorable little handmade photo book and a swatch of kimono fabric from Penny Quilter and a beautiful cross stitched amulet bag along with a pretty bracelel in lovely shade of blue from Wulfcwen, again ladies thank you from the bottom of my heart.
I have always sent out personal RAKs. I am in awe of how nice this made me feel and that is a tribute to all of your beautiful spirits

My mailbox was full today.....

Janjo33 sent a wonderful little art angel and some ATC blanks and some white mica paper, thank you

Nancy sent me a box full of bits and bobs, paper beads that are just too cool, a heart shaped shell!, tags, buttons and a card. thank you

Just Ducky- a tree spirit ATC that is tooo precious. Alittle heart adorns this tree spirit. so lovely thank you

Shawnicaitlin- a lovely card from the heart , thank you for your kindness

Kaisaj- a matching card and ATC of a geisha came, so gorgeous, thank you

and last but not least my friend Pippin.....the mastermind. behind all of this.
We met for dinner and coffee and she is grinning like a cheshire cat and pulls out a gift bag, lets just say my squeals got louder and louder......she gave me every colour that has been made by LuminArte Inc in the twinkling H2o's. thats approx 150 colours.
ALong with this gorgeous pendant. WOW Ms Pips thank you...you know how much your friendship has meant to me....its been so sweet.

I know ANg has posted in here that the RAKs really lifted her spirits, but you guys have NO idea how touched she was by all of this, receiving RAKs from people she has never traded with and hardly knows, receiving RAKs from members she knows are also struggling with life etc. really made me realise how much this can lift someone. You are all awesome and ROCK!!! I know I will do my utmost to never miss a RAK again no matter how busy life can be! She said her mail box has just been stuffed with goodness.

I too swear never to never miss a RAK, i really was blown away how it made me feel. And to be reminded that even when in pain, sorrow, etc giving is a key part of life.
