1on1: Pokemon ATC Trade

The Goal: to draw as many of the 493 current Pokemon as I can before I get bored.

The Method:
Pokemon Art Cards
These are ATCs focusing on one Pokemon (although sometimes I will add in the boring little ones that noone cares about, like Diglett). Most feature the name of the Pokemon and are based on the real animal that the critter makes me think of (whether it be intended or not)

I will make these in any size featuring up to 5 Pokemon in a scene of your devising. I am currently working on an Aesops fable inspired one (The Buneary and the Turtwig).

You can trade with me!

I am only really interested in collecting ATCs for myself, as they are easy to store, but will happily exchange 1 journal page for 3 atcs if you'd rather I did you a journal page. Does that make sense? I want to make them, but not to collect them. If you have a specific theme to your journal, I can base the picture around that.

Really, I just want to create, create, create and not have piles of my own pesky art hanging around.

Pokemon can be coloured digitally or in traditional medium. And I'm pretty easy with what Pokemon you choose to draw for me - draw me your favourites! There are some I hate or find boring, but that's okay. I also really like the more obscure ones (like parasect and the deep sea invertebrates).

There's just one teensy-weensy catch... The Pokemon YOU choose for me to create for you MUST NOT already be claimed or drawn.

PS: There are some Pokemon Art Cards that are listed as "Available for trade", PM me if you want them. I think it's Porygonz, Mudkip (noone loves mudkip :() and Sapslash atm, although the "Deep Sea Pokemon" picture was dexigned as a 4 card scene and can become one with the slash of my guillotene (I just haven't the heart to chop it up yet).

PSS: If you kid loves Pokemon, let me know and I'll make them some instead, in exchange for a picture of a lemur - yup, I'll make them 3 Pokemon cards for 1 lemur card.

Some time ago now I moderated a PBeM game called "Lake Eerie" in which you played wild pokemon. Although I left it some years ago, and had all but forgotten it, suddenly last night I got to thinking about it again and decided that it would be nifty to either draw my characters or ask other people to draw them for me.

So, here's my cast:

Goldy the Golduck
Goldy was my first character and, tbh, I cannot recall much about her. I think she was the deeply thoughtful type, always willing to help with advice and friendship. I do recall she was good friends with Blueberry and was tragically slain during the battle with Darkius, the great bird of Darkness.

Sweet and innocent with a distinctive way of talking, Blueberry partners up with Hanekko (http://uproar.fortunecity.com/amused/513/pokepalace/gsfaq09.jpg), a and together they have a daughter, named Goldie (in memory of Goldy above).

Goldberry the Marrill (http://pages.prodigy.net/maryjorhodes/marril.gif)
Goldie looks more or less like your average marril, despite her odd parentage. She is given into the "care" of the Unown (http://www.go-pokemon.com/common/img/pokemon/small/201_Unown.gif) in exchange for their help to save the lake. Her companion is a young Seel (http://guidesmedia.ign.com/guides/9846/images/seel.gif) known as "Slink" (if I recall correctly). The grief of losing her in this manner sends Blueberry to the grave, where she joins Hane in the spirit world.

Saffire is a snow-white vulpix with blue eyes when he comes to the lake. Struck with grief over the death of his trainer, it takes two young females (Rage and Surefire) to break him from it. After much thought he realises he cannot choose between the two and pairs with them both. Everything is happy, until rabies strikes the lake and he is forced to putSurefire out of her misery. He has pups with the other, and these go on to have further adventures. Which, alas, I don't seem to have chronicled...

One of his daughters was one of my characters and she wound up in the company of the Houndoom living in the volcanic belly ofthe mountain, but I don't seem to have her story archived. If you're curious - and she was one of those beautiful legendary dogs, suicune (http://www.arkeis.com/images/pokemonfactory/suicune.png) (like her mother), please let me know and I'll see if I can't find her name.

Dark the Nidoran (Akkhima?)
Dark is moody, aggressive and not particularly nice to look at. He's a deep purple - almost black. Thanks to a disease in his youth, his fur has fallen out in patches and his ears hang in ragged tatters. Despite these obvious flaws he manages to draw the affections of Lerla, a Nidoran female and the two of them have three offspring - happy-go-lucky Skip, deeply pensive Lark and the albino weakling, Pearl. Pearl is abandoned, but ends up getting adopted by a human child.

Lark/Lurk the Nidoran (Akkhima?)
Tragedy befalls Dark's family - Skip is slain and Lurk is whisked away, to be raised by Lerla's malicious sister. He turns on his family and eventually kills his own father. One of his ears hangs tattered and torn, and he bears a wicked scar over one eye. I'm not sure which, but it doesn't matter!

(If you feel the urge to draw her, Pearl was also one of my characters, she's basically just an albino nidoran female. She did come back into the story at a later date, as a nidorina).

Bracken the Stantler (http://faqsmedia.ign.com/faqs/image/ani234.gif)
Bracken is born with a prophecy hanging over his head. He bears a mark on one flank that resembles a star. He is paler than your ordinary stantler, but not markedly so. His mother is killed by the cruel Lucerne and he is raised by a small group of kindly carnivore Pokemon and a miltank. The Milltank has lost her calf to humans, and so Bracken and his friends (an eevee and a growlithe, if I recall correctly) set about rescuing the veal calves.

He then grows up and faces off against Lucerne, mating with the "Buttercup" featured in the third story log below. But that fight wasn't archived - sorry!

Buttercup was also one of my characters.

I think that's enough to go on now - but if anyone is bored I also have a pidgeot/murkrow hybrid called "Rumour", a Kadabra called "Spirit" and numerous other NPCs.

Kuri the Suicune
Saffire's daughter is small and puppyish. She was kidnapped by the Houndour to be used as a tool in the uprising of one pack against another. As you can see, I'm very big on gang wars and ripping off literature (the Bracken plot was derived from "The Prophecy" by David Clement Davies). At teh point where I left of playing she was in the "care" of a blind and cruel seeress known as the "Speaker to Shadows" who pretended that the gods spoke with her, whilst actually secretly manipulating others to her way. She kidnapped the pup in order to acquire Saffire as a tool in her schemes.

Sable Moonchaser the Houndoom
Saffire was being visited by this strange Houndoom known as Sable Moonchaser. If anyone feels the urge to draw him - he's sorta like a houndour folklore character, a demi-god I suppose. He turns up, speaks in riddles and both helps and hinders.

Rumour the pidgeot/murkrow
Rumour, my pidgeot/murkrow hybrid spent several days trying to persuade the other characters that they should let him eat one of their dead heroes. He speaks with a scottish brogue and has mites. But nothing flies faster than Rumour!

Lurk the Nidorino
When we left off, Lurk was roaming the underground in the company of a nyura (I forget the english name) called Iki. They loathed each other at first, but had to rely on each other to survive and eventually affection - of a kind - grew between them. Enough to father a child, Twylight, who never got played :( Which was a shame, cos a Nidoran/Nyura hybrid looked pretty derned nifty!

Thanks Chronata - you want me to draw Saffire for you in return? We'll trade Saffire for Saffire! In each other's styles.

Still finding (for me) new things on this forum ... met this morning gorgeous Pokémon-characters and Lemurkat, I would like you to make Pokémon-cards too. But, I am hardly familiair with those creatures ... my son is though ... he's got a lot of cards and often looks at them on TV ... I do know a lot of 'voices' of Pokémon. So, I played a little bit ... asked my son for his cards and picked Totodile because I love the way he says his name. I changed him just a little bit. Please understand, I just tried and played ... using multiliner and markers ... think colours will be better if I use pencils. But ... isn't it too much like the 'real' Pokémon?! Let me know what you think, do you want to take a chance and let me draw you some creatures too or do you think ... eh ... nah! :nah: Please be honest ... really understand it if you don't like it!

My son and I had a Pokémon-meeting this afternoon and we do have requests ... #216 Teddiursa, #395 Empoleon and #143 Snorlax. We chose Pokémon we both like as he's the Pokémon-fan but I'm the art-fan ... besides a lot of Pokémon he likes, scare me! I checked your deviantart-list and if I'm correct, the Pokémon mentioned are not yet drawn by you nor claimed ... no doubt you'll let me know if I'm not correct!

I will make you Totodile ... have to 'battle' a bit with him but I will win! I did see other Pokémon I would like to draw ... did like Piloswine and Mamoswine, and Wailord, to name a few. However, if there are Pokémon you would like to receive let me know and I will (try to) do them.

My son does collect the trading cards, yes ... but the Dutch ones only ... he's 9 years old ... does now a couple of English words but by far not enough to understand the English cards. Thanks for your kind offer!

According to my beloved son (judge of my Pokémon-cards) it's a stupid card ... it's not a Pokémon ... it's "Ice Age". Do you like it this way or do I make another mamoswine?!
