View Full Version : LIST: Waiting list for moleskine groups

07-31-2010, 02:21 AM
Having just finished my first moleskine group, which I enjoyed immensely I know I would be happy to do another. I don't have the necessary experience to start a group, otherwise I would.

Moleskine exchanges are a long commitment, so do consider carefully whether you really are sure you can commit before signing up. That said, they are also a wonderful journey.

Please read the Book Journal guidelines provided by Rkolig carefully, they are very important.

It is difficult to 'catch' an open group, often it's about folks getting together who know each other and know you are willing.

This waiting list is for posting that you are interested in joining a group.
Information you can add:
Whether you already have a theme idea, this would let others know what they might be letting themselves in for!
Whether you are willing to post international, as this can be expensive.
Whether you are ready now, or need some space before you could begin.

As this is a List Thread, one post only, please. This makes it easier to read and keep track of. You can edit your post to change your information at any time.

Excess chatter will be removed.

08-01-2010, 02:03 PM
I'll start us off:

1. My theme ideas (there are two since the first may not be acceptable to some)
- Naked women
- Dalmatian dogs
2. I can mail international
3. I would prefer to start after September this year

UPDATE - In Group 9 starting mailing Nov 2010

08-01-2010, 07:22 PM
I would love to join in on a moleskine group! Add me to this waiting list.
1. My theme is abstract or anything blue.
2. I can also mail international
3. I can start when a group is ready.

08-03-2010, 08:33 AM
I would love to be considered also....I had thought of starting one too, but I also have only hosted 3..There are several on the #8 waiting list....maybe we could PM a few of them...

I could start as soon as I get my hands on one of those little moley books

08-03-2010, 10:52 AM
Well, I have been interested for quite a while, but since I was away from the site recently, I won't be eligible to join until Mid-October. I'll brainstorm on themes and come back.

08-04-2010, 01:09 PM
1. My theme would be either ROYGBIV (rainbow) or Peacocks
2. I'm willing to mail International

2. Of course international since I`m in Europe ;-)
3. I can start any time

Please consider me for your next moley exchange. That would make me happy. Thank you. :)

09-08-2010, 11:56 AM
I'd be very interested too.
Themes, probably goddesses/myths or more vague like 'magical mystery tour' (but I'm not even sure exactly what that means, it just came to me, lol)
International - of course! ;)
I can start as soon as I get a moley

09-29-2010, 04:09 AM
Im dying to be in a moley group. I always miss sign up.

International?: Yes please!
I can be ready at anytime...please someone do another so I can be in it.

Cat's Cradle
10-06-2010, 12:30 PM
In Group 12; not currently available

1. Themes: fairy tales, Halloween, Doctor Who/Torchwood, Zentangles with a twist
2. can do international
3. Ready any time - I have Japanese moleys on hand

10-13-2010, 08:22 PM
I'd like to be listed as well. I've got a moley but haven't been able to catch an open group.

Theme? Nothing carved in stone but have a few ideas: Sailing ships, Travel, music, or artist's choice - but with a unifying color scheme. Or something else entirely depending on what the groups up for.

International? Yes, tentatively. I could mail overseas for a few rounds, but probably couldn't afford to do it everytime. So if the travel plan had me sending to the same person everytime, I'd prefer if they were in the USA.

Time? Can start anytime.

10-21-2010, 07:14 PM
Just squeeked into Group #12! so off the list for now.

I'm fascinated by the whole idea of these Moleys! I'd love to be a part of one.

1. Themes:
1. Vintage, industrial, steampunk, dark rich colors, paintovers.
2. Encouragement, words of affirmation, faith, positive energy.
3. Creepy, kooky and weird, zombies, one eyed creatures, more fun than truly dark.

2. International is fine.

3. Ready whenever a new group starts. Cant wait!!

11-04-2010, 01:39 PM

11-04-2010, 03:59 PM

I can do a few international mailings

12-12-2010, 07:53 PM
I'd love to join a group.

It's random. When someone feels like the huge task of hosting a moley group they can PM friends, look here, just throw it out there and see who signs up, any number of ways but usually a combination of the above. I read over the existing moleys a LOT before signing up for my first.

03-14-2011, 08:18 PM
Yes, I have been spending a lot of time reading about them. I was just wondering how the sign ups work. I look forward to joining one as soon as I am asked or one comes available to join. Thanks for the information=)

04-05-2011, 05:50 PM

09-15-2011, 02:28 PM
I'm interested in being in a group. You need to decide if my artwork is good enough to be included. I would choose the theme "take flight" to be interpreted by the individual artists in any way they choose and to be created in any media/style.
I'm available to start any time. And I would welcome international trades.

09-19-2011, 09:31 PM
I am certainly interested and will keep an eye out for the next group to begin. I'm not interested in hosting one, but I would love to participate. Of course I will mail anywhere. I'd choose my theme at that time. Who knows what inspiration will hit when?

09-27-2011, 08:31 PM
1. Fibonacci Sequence/Golden Mean
2. International mailings, yes
3. November 1, 2011

11-15-2011, 05:35 AM
absolutely dying to do this!

11-15-2011, 11:32 AM
I would also love to be involved
I am also UK so yes to international.
Theme pretty open (but not cute) - however I do like medieval stuff (books of hours), the idea of Janus (looking 2 ways, past future, light dark whatever); labyrinths and mazes.
Dec 1st onwards...
Fingers crossed!!!

11-15-2011, 12:43 PM
If I had the skill, I would host a swap...so much fun. Has anyone ever thought of doing the Moleskein watercolor book in a swap! I'd surely be up for that!

11-16-2011, 12:15 PM
zandra, are you volunteering to host, because if that's the case, i'm in.

11-16-2011, 01:15 PM

zandra, are you volunteering to host, because if that's the case, i'm in

oh me too!!

11-17-2011, 05:33 AM
well, no, i wasn't volunteering. but i wouldn't rule it out. i've never hosted before and i've never done a moleskine journal -- but if someone would mentor me, i'd consider it.

Carole Cadek
11-17-2011, 10:28 AM
Please read the guidelines for hosting these groups:
Book Journal Guidelines-PLEASE READ (http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10827)

Group leaders have to meet certain requirements before they can sponsor a group.

11-18-2011, 04:18 AM
Thank you, Carole. I'm not officially qualified, so I'm off the hook.

But I still wanna play!

11-18-2011, 04:21 AM
Oops I have just discovered that I cannot join any other circle book groups until I have completed the deco rotation group which has just got under way.:embarrassed:
So I have to remove myself from the waiting list.
Good luck to the rest of you:)

07-26-2012, 11:31 PM
I am also interested in doing another...I have completed two...and I loved seeing the progression in each of the books,,,I already have one that is ready to go... Please consider including me if you are starting a new group..

03-06-2013, 09:31 AM
Can anybody explain what implies to host? I want to participate in one I never did it before. So I would like to learn before to decide if I could do it.

03-06-2013, 11:55 AM
patgel, here is a link to the sticky note that describes the hosts requirements and responsabilities.

03-08-2013, 01:59 PM
thanks Kentucky
I read the rules, I can't be a host because I haven't hosted 5 swaps.
So we have to keep waiting until somebody takes the lead:sad:

03-18-2013, 10:59 PM
Could I please be added to the wait list? I would love to do this but just keep missing the sign up ship. Thanks! Looking forward to the fun!

03-27-2013, 03:17 PM
Yep, I will wait in line like the rest of us.

04-10-2013, 06:18 PM
Just finished my first group and would love to go again.
Thinking of themes.
Can do overseas mailings.
Not host-worthy yet.

05-06-2013, 10:09 PM
Finally found the moleskin books.....yeah so very very HAPPY!!!!!
Theme artists choice, (please no nude or crude, scrapbook style)
Yes can do international.
My journal has lines. Do I prep all the journal pages with gesso? Or does the individual artist affix their own preference?

Now who can host one?

05-21-2013, 11:18 AM
I participated in Moley group #16 and loved it. Since I haven't hosted any swaps, I'm not eligible to start one. I would love to join one again if anyone would have me!

06-08-2013, 10:28 PM
Yes we wait... i haven't hosted five swaps yet either....

06-14-2013, 11:33 PM
I would also like to do a Molely. I have journaled throughout my life and have the Holey Molely calling. And I have not hosted a single swap. Oh gracious swap hosty make yourself known and gather us who are longing to share the process of the Molely. The waiting begins.

06-27-2013, 01:12 PM
I'm thinking of hosting again - I've hosted several and been in several more - missing it
but please before thinking about signing up check out these two threads - it's a huge long thing and lost books hurt everyone so please be sure you are in a place where you can follow thru. :) If so please pm me and if I get a few more I will post and start it off

07-02-2013, 12:47 PM
The new Moley group is up in the thread. A few spots left as of this morning. Wish I could play in a second one, sigh.

07-02-2013, 04:12 PM
I am in Moley 19. Very excited this is my first moley.

09-11-2013, 05:34 PM
I like to join a moleskine journal swap with seperate pages ( and not sending the entire book around) is there one and who can tell me about t. Or: is there anyone who will do with me a two pages journal trade? Please let me know.

12-05-2013, 11:39 PM
I would love to be a part of a moleskine swap around. I have read a lot about them and have a moleskine ready and waiting. I have a couple of sketches in it already, but not a lot. Please please let me know when a new swap is being formed.

I love monochromatic blue and birds, separate and together. Anything Gustav Klimt as well. Black white and yellow always makes me happy.
Yes I am able to swap over seas
I am not sure if I am host worthy or not.

12-17-2013, 10:19 AM
Always seem to miss the moley threads when they come up... they fill up so fast
Got my moley (small book with the harmonica pages - not too hard to send overseas) ready but I'm waiting for the swap to join... maybe 2014 is my lucky year

12-17-2013, 11:49 AM
I've done several...willing to do another, but not going to host.

01-10-2014, 10:22 AM
Found this on moleskines... Fun to know and entertaining to read

02-19-2014, 01:51 PM
I'm interested in a new Moley group! I'd host but i don't have the credentials!

02-19-2014, 06:57 PM
I'm interested too - just waiting for someone to host. I'm hosting a Journal Page group right now so a Moley swap on the side is a bit too much!

We've got Will, Coyote, Lilbad, Trilove and me... that's quite a start - all we need is a host!

05-30-2014, 02:25 AM
I'm always interested...love to participate in any of them.

05-31-2014, 10:04 AM
Still no one to be found who will host a Moley swap? Got a moley here with only one participant that added... Can't wait to get more in my little book!

05-31-2014, 11:22 AM
I am in for a moley group....Have participated in four!

05-31-2014, 01:49 PM
I'm ready for one as well. Would be a fun addition to the summer to have moley's making the rounds.

06-01-2014, 09:02 PM
Just back from a long illness but rearing to go again. Still eager to participate in a moley group. I keep,my own moley journals but would so,love to belong to a group!:D
Themes. Goddesses, Indian art, dreamers

06-04-2014, 01:38 PM
Just had word that I'm allowed to host one - but I've got too much on my hands right now. If nobody started a group before September - I most certain will.

07-13-2014, 12:50 PM
Just finished No. 2,
have an unopened Moley,
and would love to participate in another group...:~]

10-02-2014, 04:20 AM
Okay - said that I would host one after the holidays....

How about me hosting a Moley swap starting November 1?
I need 9 players, am I right? It'll be my first moley swap so I might need a bit of help (advice) from those who have already done one.

Just PM me if you're interested and if I can fill a group I'll post a thread.

10-02-2014, 11:38 AM

10-02-2014, 11:49 AM
Hahaha - got you penciled in Coyote... and 6 others already too... this thing will fill up fast! Hope to have time to post the thread this weekend....

10-03-2014, 06:40 AM
All right folks - I've send out the new thread to our wonderful moderators. Until now I've got 7 sign ups (including myself there are Coyote, Jazzie, JSilver, Angelmuz, KentuckyDakota and DebbaPeot)... still 3 spots available for Happy Crafters!

Keep an eye out for the thread - will let you know when it is active too!

10-03-2014, 09:28 AM
Ok, I'm in. I have to admit I'm a bit nervous as I really only draw girls. But, I guess this will be a good challenge.

10-03-2014, 09:30 AM
Hi Trilov - will put you on a spot too... and as far as I can see... it should be possible to do something with 'girls' in almost any theme, uh?

10-03-2014, 07:06 PM
Hi Trilov - will put you on a spot too... and as far as I can see... it should be possible to do something with 'girls' in almost any theme, uh?

That's true, Nicky! ;)

10-05-2014, 09:10 AM
I've PMed all you girls that want to sign up - thread will follow shortly since Carole (who needs to approve it) is on holidays... a bit more patience - but it is going to happen soon!

12-02-2014, 03:38 PM
Hellllo! I am very excited to find these threads, and although i am not sure on my talent to participate, i am so looking forward to learning and participating, with those that are brave enough to allow me to do so. lol Maybe we could have a first timer one? :)

Anyway, my info is:

1. I can mail international, also after the first of the year
2. My Theme would be: Fairies
3. Pieced of plastic or wax paper in between each page please. :)

Thank you! :)

TF Balding
01-09-2015, 03:22 AM
We're trying to fill a Foodie themed group right now... Anyone interested? Foodie doesn't just mean recipes & kitchen doodads either... My moley is "In the Kingdom of the Sugar Shock Princess"... a panoramic tour through a candylandesque realm & all it's inhabitants... Another member has chosen Steampunk feast... Someone else is thinking about a fairy garden type theme... Plenty of room for interpretation in it! Y'all consider it! :)

01-30-2015, 05:26 PM
I just wanna add my name to this list, I'm happy to create anything that's going, I love, love moleskin's. Pm any one who is doing the next swap, I'm very keen.

03-04-2015, 01:16 PM
I want to say I am enjoying the #20 happy crafters swap. I would love to be involved in another moleskine swap in the future. :-)

04-03-2015, 12:20 AM

2. I can ship internationally.

05-23-2015, 09:40 PM
I did one of these last year. It was a lot of fun. I'd be interested in joining another group. Hit me up if your hosting one. :) Any theme and International are both fine.

06-01-2015, 08:13 AM
I'm hosting one now but would very much like to join a new group after September. Wouldn't it be fun to have a really international group? The one that I'm hosting now is all USA (and me from The Netherlands).
Just drop a PM if a group is starting and there's a spot left for me?

1. Witches and Wizards
2. International mailings, yes (I'm in The Netherlands)
3. October 1, 2015

07-04-2015, 02:16 PM
Haven't tried my hand at this but I REEEEEALLY want to join a group. My theme will be Circus side show. Anybody keep me updated and I will keep checking in for the next round. I LOVE THIS!

07-06-2015, 12:48 PM
I always seem to miss a group by the skin of its teeth.
I would like to join one. International is no problem for me
Themes I'm thinking between, some kind of fairytAle or goddesses theme.

Wouldn't you be interested in hosting one? You most certainly qualify
I am hosting one right now - ends in August (moleys should return to their owners then). I don't feel like hosting another one so fast after this one but I'd love to participate and looking at the thread there are a lot of us interested??

I have been the green light to start gathering players for #22 Moleskine Swap.

This swap will not start until NOVEMBER 1. (Not September) :-)

I am in need of 9 players. :-) PM me please if you are interested. The moleskine theme will be open. I had fun in Nicky's swap with open themes.

I will accept sign ups until FULL.

Please read the sticky on moleskine participation before signing up. It is a time commitment and you CAN NOT withdraw.

bookmarking this thread so I can catch an open group...

Theme ideas:

- a circus (not necessarily the regular kind)
- quirky/funny tourist photos/postcards around the world/galaxy

- Dr Who adventures
- any open to any other theme

I prefer HD/HP, but am open to mixed-media
I can mail internationally
I can start anytime

I'd love to host one, but haven't even hosted a swap. I'm ready and willing to participate in another Moley group

11-07-2015, 05:06 AM
Id host one but have not been in one yet. I like to play first before being a host.

11-16-2015, 01:25 PM
I wouldn't be eligible to host until next year (i.e. after the holidays when my 5th swap ends)...but even then, I'm not sure I understand the rotation schedule.

11-16-2015, 01:32 PM
I'm eligible to host, but couldn't start until after the holidays. I'll update here in January if I'm able to get it off the ground.

01-28-2016, 05:22 AM
OK, so I'm planning to start a moleskine swap with a first mail out date of March 1st. If you'd like to be included, please pm me and I'll let you know when I open the thread. Thanks :)

02-26-2016, 09:22 AM
I would love be on the next one for mixed media!!! I always seem to be late for this...

04-21-2016, 08:52 AM
Thinking about hosting an all European Moley Swap.... anyone in Europe that would be interested in participating? If yes, then PM me so I can see if we can get this going.

04-21-2016, 09:40 AM
i can't wait to be able to try this!!! I hope some day, somebody will want to host worldwide one... Have fun Nicky and the others!

09-04-2016, 10:34 PM
I see no one has posted here for several months but I would love to be a part of a moley. I have been involved in other kinds of swaps similar to this and would like to be a part of a moley. If a #25 group starts up please consider me for the group. I would consider doing international swap.

09-13-2016, 04:00 PM
I am still interested in the Moley groups... I am doing a lot of HD/HD these days...

10-26-2016, 01:15 AM
Just finished my first one and loved it! I'd love to do another :)

11-06-2016, 05:06 PM
update 7/27/2017 not working on moley books at this time. Hugs

03-27-2017, 10:54 AM
I would love to join in another art journal or moley swap this year. Just finished with group #22.

I am thinking of starting up another moley group, if there is enough interest, with a mail out start of November 1st or December 1st 2017. I'm going to limit it to Canada/US players to keep mailing cost/times reasonable.

If you would interested, please PM me. Please make sure you meet the moley requirements to play (http://atcsforall.com/forum/showpost.php?p=466679&postcount=1). Also let me know if you are willing/able to mail to Canada, as one person in the rotation has to mail to me :D Last year the cost was around $9.50 USD to mail to me (without tracking)

08-11-2017, 08:49 PM
I am very interested in a moley.

08-12-2017, 09:45 AM
Awesome aaeshelman!

Miss M
08-13-2017, 08:14 AM
aha, I've just found out you can use a rotating player schedule also, so each person has to mail to Canada once. Hopefully that makes is a little easier as there won't be one person show has to always mail to Canada! :)

09-26-2017, 08:18 PM
I would love to join a moley group

06-28-2018, 05:02 AM
I would love to join a moley

07-11-2018, 06:49 AM
I have journal now. All I need is someone to play with :(

07-11-2018, 08:31 AM
One day I'd like to join in, but it's hard enough to make cards for a swap sometimes. Also, a lot of the journal groups used the 3-page spread and that is so intimidating.

07-11-2018, 08:42 AM
Oh well. I guess I can make use of the journal anyway. I can understand why people are reluctant. It seems a big commitment and maybe the format doesn't appeal to everyone. I'll live in hope, meanwhile :)

07-11-2018, 09:03 AM
Keep your eye on the threads. They start a new groups every few months or so. Or hopefully you'll get other folks interested!

07-13-2018, 01:30 PM
Ya I'm up for one again. I just don't think I'm up to being a host for one. LOL
I think I would ask for Home and cell numbers. I would be sooooo calling " hows it going have you mailed. You haven't posted in a few days. ???"

09-11-2018, 07:06 AM
In the market voor a new moley swap too - have hosted 2 but I would love to just participate in one.
Give me a shout if a new swap starts and you need players???
(or send me a message if you want to play - if it's 10 of us we can decide together who will host) :)

09-12-2018, 05:42 AM
Hosting a moley swap (see #26) starting January 2019 - interested? Just let me know. We have ONE SPOT AVAILABLE at the moment and we have not started yet thus some might change their minds before 2019. I will be happy to put you on my waiting list should a spot come available before December 2018 (a months prep time is needed to get your own moley and to do the first 3-page spread in that moley setting out the theme)

OizoBlue, you don't have a high enough iTrader to participate in a moley group.
please read:
Book Journal Guidelines-PLEASE READ (http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?10827-Book-Journal-Guidelines-PLEASE-READ)

09-19-2018, 06:12 AM
Too bad OizoBlue... work on your iTraders and maybe you can jump on the next moley-train

09-19-2018, 08:11 AM
Nicky, good for you! Looks like you are up and flying. Having my mail forwarded half of the year isn't conducive to trading. I will follow your group, tho. My moleys are some of my favorite ATC treasures!!!

09-21-2018, 04:00 AM
Too bad you cannot join us Lilbad - only one spot left at the moment (and one player still on tentative)... looks like we will be able to make it in January :)

09-23-2018, 05:17 AM
Will PM you moonrose442

09-25-2018, 06:43 AM
Nicky, If we star in January I am a definite.

09-25-2018, 08:57 AM
Wonderful aaeshelman... I'll ask Carol to give us a home here so we can have some fun before we start and so I will have a thread to put up or mailing schedule, topics etc.

10-29-2018, 02:03 PM
Still TWO spots left in the #26 moley swap... we are starting January so plenty of time but sign up a.s.a.p. to start sharing in the fun

01-31-2019, 09:44 PM
I would love to join in on a moleskine group! Add me to this waiting list. I've been away for a bit, but I'm bag in full swing now!
1. I would be happy with any themes; my favorite medium is collage.
2. I can also mail international
3. I can start when a group is ready and I qualify. I'm not a possible host until April 2019.

02-11-2019, 03:26 PM
While I'm waiting, can someone please give me a little more information about the requirements? I know that a moleskine journal is required for the swap, but I can't find any other details:

* How many pages should the journal have?
* Does the binding need to have that soft, leathery feel, or can it be cahiers, hardback, or other?
* Are there any rules about the pages and whether they should be dotted, ruled, or unruled?
* How big should the journal be; 8.5 x 11, 5.5 X 8.25, 3.5 x 5.5...?

02-11-2019, 04:56 PM
Look for moleskin Japanese fold....thirty pages unfoldef each page 5.5 tall by 3.5 wide. I usually buy mine on eBay.

02-11-2019, 04:56 PM
Your last size was right 3.5 by 5.5
