Christmas is looming ever closer and you will soon be starting to think of gifts for family and friends.

How about a Christmas Gift A-Thon? Hand make items that could be used as christmas gifts and then trade with other participants. The gifts don't have to be given as gifts to family and friends, you may want a treat for yourself.

Any gift item goes, but smaller gifts would reduce the postage costs.

If interested then post here and vote for any suitable dates (you can pick more than one). If there is enough interest then the a-thon will go ahead.

As gifts can take some time to make this would be done over a week.

Gift ideas:
jewelry is very fun and can be small
handmade journals
ornaments of various kinds
small stuffed toys and items
wall art items
pillow cases
kitchen towels and potholders (maybe like sew designs on, embroder)
picture frames
photo books
Scarves and hats-other knitted/crochet items
Little sewn items (purse, apron, headband...)
Personalized/hand-made stationary
Photography
Hair accessories (hair pin, head band...)
Pottery/ceramics (maybe tiny change bowl, mug, key chain ornament...)
Handmade Postcards-blank for sending? (mixed media, hand painted, photography...)
Soap
Candles
Keychains
pincushions
all purpose note cards
Dotee dolls
coin/change purses
eyeglass/sunglass/readers - holder
totebags
small decorative quilt blocks

Your poor kitty. Hope he/she is ok.

i think she will be okay. only problem is this is gonna cost me some mad cash to resolve (~ US $1500) but the prognosis is good that once we figure things out she will have a long, healthy life eating special diet catfood.

we're trimming the budget at home. I'll have to make gifts with stuff i have at the house i guess. won't be too bad, just takes out a couple cool ideas i had.

Gosh that is a lot. But it's good that she will make a good recovery. We're cutting out budget this year too so i'll be making gift too.

I'm wondering that as not many people are interested. I could post a thread in mail art swaps and have it running over more weeks so it might get more interest. We cold post picks of what we have done and post requests and then trade with whoever we want to.

What do you feel about this?

i like that idea. part of my hesitation is that i might make X of something that no one wants to trade for. but to say "i can do these, here is an example, let's trade" sounds good. a little more flexability i think

Plus the longer time frame would be helpful!

Great. I think it's a done deal then. I'll post a thread tomorrow and email the link to everyone who has posted here. I'm a bit tied up tonight (nope not into bondage) LOL

Ok i've opened a thread for Christmas Gift trades in the Mail Art forum. Doing it this way you have more time.
