twelve days... not unusual for international mail, I wouldn't really fret until a full month has gone by.
Yes, I know it'll shorten your work time, but you can work on other paper & glue it in when the book arrives.

International mail seems to be taking some time again just lately. No idea why! In the UK they won't consider anything lost for 28 WORKING days either!

A moley swap from last year....I was the last to work on it...mailed it to England and the hostess never did get it. The tracking thing doesn't apply apparently.

The only way to track international mail is to send it privately, not through public/ federal/ royal mail. Private is UPS, Fed Ex, DLR etc.

Yay! I scanned before mounting it in the book, so it's mounted & ready to send on. Because I'm last and because it's traveling between countries I'm going to splurge and send it via a private carrier (dunno if UPS or Fed Ex is cheaper). Payday is Friday, I'll get it in the mail after that.

With the moleys disappearing on international legs lately, especially with it being the last, I think it's worth it. And your book isn't very heavy, actually it's lighter than most at this stage.

Just as a matter of interest - have any of you had to sign for moleys sent from me? As I have paid for that option. I know that it doesn't work for some destinations (even though they still charge for the tracking into the country) but it would be interesting to know.

I haven't had to sign for any of the ones I received, except when Brightspark sent all three.

I still think there has got to be a way to track international mail (maybe DHL or one of the smaller carriers?) without it costing obscene amounts of money. I'm going to investigate further.

Penlowe- I had thought it would be awfully high, but not quite that, lol! (Too many years of sending pressies to my family...) just your postal service airmail with whatever basic tracking you'd normally use will be fine - that is all that was expected when I signed up to this swap, so don't worry, it's a risk we all take when mailing the books. (Don't put the value as too large though, or I'll get slapped with import tax and service charges)

I had it in my head to do something after Klimt when the original theme was favourite artists (as he's one of mine), and couldn't get away from it! The gold and silver inks and embossing doesn't scan properly though

Honestly it's been a pleasant break, I love everyone in both my moley groups but I will never be in two at a time ever again! Too much stress & worry about sending books to the wrong place and such.
