View Full Version : Get ready for the next Draw-a-Thon July 1 - 3!

06-16-2011, 02:23 AM
Hi there!

Thereīll be another DAT on July 1 - 3, 2011! :jiggy:

Well, actually I think itīs better to make it a Draw- and Paint-a-Thon, I think thereīll be more interest in this :)

So itīs time to get prepared - sharpen your pencils, gather your pens and markers, watercolors, pastels, acrylics or ..., get out your sketch book, paper or atc blanks or whatever you want to draw or paint on and join in!

Iīll post the official thread around June 27. If anyone has ideas for challenges, please post them here.

Oh yay! Perfect timing! I just finished doing a drawing workshop by Carla Sonheim on the Art of Silliness. If anyone has her book, "Drawing Lab", I highly recommend it! It has tons of ideas that teach drawing while having lots of fun!

During the last draw-a-thon we had challenges like whimsy drawings, etc. I learned some other fun stuff from Carla like one-liners, contour drawing, blind contour drawing, scribbling then making something out of the scribbles. I don't know if zentangles are considered drawing, but that might be another challenge. I'll probably use Sonheim's book for the DAT.

I'm so excited!!

Thank you Evelyn!!

I think I can play and my daughter (15) would like to participate also. I'm glad you added painting to the acceptable mediums.

I'll be there! At least for Friday. I'll probably be doing sketches in a 5x7 notebook. Are we trading? Should I do ATCs instead?
