1-on-1: OY's Crazy ROLO making spree!

Okay, so Friday I decided I wanted to take advantage of all the ROLO-obsessed people (you know who you are) and make some rolos....ONLY I don't have any space for a ROLO display for myself, but I AM obsessed with '4x4's, AKA 'chunky pages'.

I ran around and checked out some rolos for ideas and rules, asked a few questions, and then made some. A LOT. I spent probably 10-12 hours on them this weekend (it WAS the Collage-a-thon anyway, right?). Soooooo, short story long....


I have ROLOS to trade.

I want to swap them for CHUNKY book pages,
in any combination of media, in one of my preferred themes.

Basically, if you want a rolo, make me a 4x4 (http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showpost.php?p=55269&postcount=3). It's all the same square inches. :)


-If you see an available rolo that you would like, Comment on it in my flickr OR Post in the thread; Let me know which one and what you would like to swap WITH me. If it is ready to trade I will PM you and we can set up arrangements.

-I will personalize/customize it to your preferences, including: C or F style address on the back, adding ribbons or fibers, other stuff you want done (glitter, eyelets, doodles, etc).

-I may trade more than one with each person, so there probably will not be one for everyone.

-I'll be getting a template in the mail in a few days, so I will cut holes at that time.
-All the rolos are 3x5" with a 1/4" to 1" tab on the top.
-All rolos are OOAK and are made from unique supplies, so they can't be duplicated. Once one is 'gone', it's gone.

4x4 guidelines:

-pages should be STURDY (2 layers of cardstock or MORE)
-all pages should be 4x4"
-don't punch holes for binding (decorative eyelets are okay)
-THEME DON'TS: use any cult, scary, evil, dark, goth, 'alternative', spooky, political, tarot, erotic, or nude themes, please. Ask me for info if you have a question.

Theme 1:
-THEME: MONOCHROMATIC. Choose ONE color, and make a whole page with and inspired by that color. No more PINK please, I have several. :)
-DO'S: Any medium is great, add fibers, beads, threads, make the pages THICK!
-COMMENTS: I love mixed media style.... paint, collage it, draw, add fabric, etc.

Theme 2:
-THEME: FABRIC Zetti
-DO'S: Fun and colorful, LOTS of pattern and text is great, I love handwriting/poems all over these!
Entire page should be made of fabrics, batting, ribbon, fibers, etc. (not paper), and stitched together securely. Make sure to include your info on the back too!
-BINDING:unsure, so dont' punch any holes! :D
-COMMENTS: Don't put TOO much weight in charms, etc. that it bends the page. Thanks! I love the fun, silly whimsical zetti, lots of faces, funkyness, hats, etc. Nothing goth, dark or new age, please.

Theme 3:
-THEME: CREATIVE life. Art, creativity, color!
-DO'S: Any medium is great, add fibers, beads, threads, make the pages THICK! I love red and turquoise, so use those if possible.
-BINDING: TOP! (no embellishments in top 1/2" of page). hanging fibers on both sides and bottom is okay, these will be a wall display in my sewing/craft space.
-COMMENTS: I love mixed media style.... paint, collage it, draw, add fabric, etc.

Theme 4:
-THEME: Cheerful Zetti
-DO'S: Fun and colorful, LOTS of pattern and text is great, I love handwriting/poems all over these!
-BINDING: same
-COMMENTS: I love the fun, silly whimsical zetti, lots of faces, funkyness, hats, etc. Nothing too dark. No photocopies of Zetti work, please, only your original drawings or stamps.

Black OR white, is fine, just do as much as possible with one color. Those are the hardest to work with though.

Hmm... rolo 1-on-1 thread, that is a great idea, but that is what roc's thread started out to be. Yes, it gets huge quickly, but folks just jump on and enjoy the ride! Everyone uploads some for trade and everyone gets to see the new rolos. I just jump in when I see a new person join the list, trade, then stay out of it for awhile. Works for me. There is no way I could keep up with the thread otherwise, gives me a headache! lol

Shore, the chunkies have our info on the back, usually done on pretty paper, in case they are put in a book and that way the person collecting can still see who made it.

My templates still aren't here, I was waiting on those before I cut holes or wrote on them. My local store was out. When those arrive, I'll get to working on them.

In the meantime, let me know which type of rolo (Flat or circular), if you want my user name on both sides, if you want fibers or anything fluffy up top, etc...? If I haven't traded with you before, send me your addy too. I'm at the same addy for 3 years now.
