There are a group of us going to the Creative Stitch and Hobbycraft show at Aintree in Liverpool on Saturday 26th April 08 if anyone would like to join us.

We had a brill time when we went to NEC Birmingham last weekend. Much trading of ATC's was done. :cute:

If you fancy meeting up please let me know and I can add you to the list.

http://www.ichf.co.uk/creativestitches/index.php#dates

This time ladies I ask that everyone gives me their mobile numbers so that I can contact everyone who we are meeting - unfortunately we had a lonely Stargroves wondering around NEC not knowing where we were, and not having a mobile number for her I couldn't contact her - I do not want this to happen again. :nah:

The following people are coming to play at Aintree:

Me
Micromummy
Fantasy Firebird
Craftygirl34
Purplecat (yes she is coming all the way from Isle of Man -much respect)

Hope to see more people come as we had a riot last time x x

Hi there, it wasn't me wandering around at the NEC, it was Stargroves. Having met FF before, I'd know that laugh anywhere. LOL (hugs to Kay).

I was looking forward to a trip to Aintree, but now I've seen the date, I can't come.
I'm sorry girls but I will think of you all, I'll be out on a boat in the Indian Ocean, scuba diving, I know, what a shame, but I'll cope.:laugh:

LiseBu, I got my tickets yesterday! so excited now!
Can I just ask you have you and your Mum had your Tudor swap returns? I posted last week.

What time are we meeting at Aintree? My flight gets in at 10.20 am, so allowing for delays, FF is picking me up, then its about 20 mins drive, so we should be there about 11 am. (ish!)

purplecat
04-03-2008, 03:19 PM
Vicky- it depends how many more I get done! lol !
I got 13 made yesterday ( I had an atc making fest!) They were all collage ones , so I am hoping to get some hand drawn/ Painted ones done as well!
Dont forget I have to take into account baggage allowance on the plane !!

Craftygirl34
04-03-2008, 03:33 PM
OMG Karen i better get my finger out, i will never have enough cards ready, lol. How much Luggage have you set aside for your cards and i hope you put them in your hand luggage as you never know after Heathrow.

Defo worried now
(Craftygirl34 missing in action, mad Atc fest, not been seen on ATCsforall.com for at least 2 weeks) Could you imagine it! Not coming on here 2 weeks :arghh::cry:

LOL

purplecat
04-03-2008, 04:04 PM
Dont worry just make a few, as long as you have some to swap!
I am only allowed one bag on the plane, so I am thinking of bringing a bag inside a bag then if I purchase a few bits I have tyhe option of putting one bag in the hold!
They are soo strict on the internal flights almost worse than International flights, at the airport I have to remove my shoes! as I go through security.
How long does your train journey take? My flight is only 20mins.

Stargroves
04-04-2008, 04:35 AM
Ooh, sounds like you'll all have a really good time:jiggy:! Lots of people talking about Aintree today in the village, umm something tells me they might not be talking craft ;)

Craftygirl34
04-04-2008, 06:19 PM
The train is an hour and half, then we have got to walk to the next station, to connect to Aintree, but we might go by taxi depends how we feel. So we might just be arriving the same time as you, Lol.

I know they are getting quite bad at the airports at the moment, cosmetics need to be in a clear poly bag too, so be prepared, as my friend went away last week and they let her family through and then made her go to the shop to buy this bag thingy, before they would let her on the plane.

I know your just trying to reassure me, your bag will be full of swaps and the only thing you are bringing is clean undies, lol.

As i start to panic, thinking how many i actually have to swap (which aint many).

Craftygirl34
04-04-2008, 06:21 PM
Are you sure we can't tempt you to Aintree Stargroves? :D

fantasy firebird
04-04-2008, 06:27 PM
I refuse to start swopping undies!!!!

Craftygirl34
04-04-2008, 06:31 PM
Lol Kay now there is a thought, could you imagine the faces and looks from everyone there. Maybe not.:wideeyed:

We would be banned from ever attending another show again, as the word would get out!

Stargroves
04-08-2008, 12:09 PM
Hee hee, you certainly can't tempt me by swapping undies:biglaugh:

No, I'd love to come and meet you all but it's just too far to do in a day.

Do any of you come to Festival of Quilts at the NEC in August? I'll be there all 4 days. Also there's NEC in the Autumn, is it October or November? I can never remember...

Craftygirl34
04-08-2008, 04:34 PM

Interested to hear what Craftygirl's friend said about the NEC show. I thought the one the other week was a lot less good than the November one, but then thought I had probably just remembered it wrong.

Hoping to go to the NEC again in November.

I am going to the Festival of Quilts also :-)

Craftygirl34
04-09-2008, 04:39 PM
Mwquilt...My friend says the one in November at the NEC is much better, than the one last month, sorry i must have typed it wrong. She said it has more stalls in November and a lot better value. I have never been to it as its near to christmas but i think she might be dragging me anyway lol. Not that I'll protest, lol.:biglaugh:

Karen how many cards have you made so far, just so i can panic! i have made 3 so far, but might get more done as my hubby is away this weekend. Lol.
I would have done some last weekend if it wasnt for my son and his GCSE coursework that needed to be finished and i had to push him every step of the way. Roll on 6 weeks time when he leaves.

Oh..it was great to meet up with Purplecat on the Isle of Man and trade some cards. She has done some lovely ones, so I hope you will all try to remain calm and not fight over them ( Fantasy Firebird....that means you as well!)

I cracked a tooth later in the week and had to visit the dentist..but I didn't do it falling over in the rush to grab Purplecat's cards, honestly.

I am putting the dates for the November NEC thingy in my diary, in case there is any chance of some of us meeting up there.

Lise Bu..that's great. I have put all the time of the show in my diary to keep free until I see what day everyone is thinking about going.

I am just a bit jealous about Aintree..but just as well I am not supposed to be going, 'cos as well as having a cracked tooth ( dentist tomorrow) I have a horrible sore throat/joint aching thingy since I got back from my hols and was in bed all day today. Didn't even feel like making atc's...can you imagine that?

Have a great time everyone who is going to Aintree.

Wow early leaving as well!! How good is that??
I had a great day, its brilliant to put faces to names and to be able to swop so many lovely cards!! I am getting worried now because it seems that when there are swop meets on in the UK I just need to make more cards to swop each time!! Everyone has sussed that I just can't leave an oriental themed card to go home with its maker - people are getting fiendish they keep making cards that they know I can't resist!!
I was great to get the Mary Poppins bag working again LOL I was so glad we all met up prior to us all shopping, otherwise I would never have had enough space for all my new goodies LOL
Drooling was kept to the bare minimum thank you very much ladies!! I'll have you know that both Micromummy and myself were etremely restrained - Lise was sat between us!!!
