Welcome to the January 2012 RAK Attack!


Our January victim's info has been sent

A RAK is a Random Act of Kindness, and a RAK Attack is this group of participants mailing some sort of surprise to a ‘victim’ who is selected by nominations through private messages sent by you. Please try to send the name/user name of the ATCsforALL member and their address (if available) when you sign up. (Please one nominee, per person.)

This is not a popularity contest it is simply our small way of spreading cheer in our little community. This particular RAK is intended for members of ATCsforALL. If you have friends in need of a RAK feel free to open a new thread and let us know, there's always someone to step up and contribute.

One person per month, not the same person in a year. A list is maintained to assure no repeats. If you nominate someone who is ineligible I will send you a private message to send in alternate nominations. The RAK host (me) cannot be RAKed.

Who to nominate and why?

Any member who is going through a rough time and could use a smile, who has been especially helpful or accommodating, the victim does not have to be a participant in the monthly RAK, just any member of ATCsforALL.

What to Send On a RAK Attack

Anything Goes: ATCs, Arty bits, cards, Handwritten written wishes on handmade or pretty stationary, Envies, Handmade stationary for gift, Candy, cookies, Stickers, Books, Artwork, Encouraging words, Poetry, favorite quotes. You decide what to send based on how much time you have and what your budget is, look to the supplies you already have and all it will cost you is a stamp.


How Do I participate?:

1. Post in this thread to sign up

2. PM me one member nomination and their address, if you have this info, it is extremely helpful. This information is always kept secret from the participants so do not ask. (If you don't have anyone to nominate, that's OK.)

3. I will PM you all with the address of the RAK recipient.
Expect to see this info around the 25th-30th of December. You can only receive this information from the host (me) so please do not ask others.

This is a surprise! Please do not tell the RAK recipient-let them find out in the mail.

Please PM me if you have any questions.

Remember, the RAK is to bring a smile to somebody and show them we care.

All participants welcomed! Nominations accepted until the 24th of December.

The way the RAKs date fell, it would have been right on Christmas. So I thought if I start the next monthly thread at the beginning of the month, send the info at the end of that month for the next month, it would work out better all the way around.
RAK ers would have the whole month to send, and not feel that they were late, if they couldn't get them out right away. :)
(Made sense in my mind anyway...LOL)

When I went to my post box and found 11 RAK envelopes, I realized I must be the incredibly LUCKY 'victim' of all your love and kind heartedness in the January RAK thread.

What a wonderful group of people you are.

You know, I haven't even been trading a YEAR yet, not until MAY 2012 will it be a year, and yet you have reached out and blessed me with your gifts, cards, and all the other wonderful surprises that await. I have only opened two envelopes so far - and I can tell you - there wasn't a dry eye in the house :}

I won't blather on any more. I just can't express how wonderful you have made me feel.

Carole, how is the best way for me to thank all these wonderful people here on ATCs for all? do I leave REP? iTrader? Please let me know.

Since they are a gift to you no iTrader is necessary.

I would like to thank you for a lovely envelope full of beautiful paper and collage elements. I tried to find your username, so that I could leave you RAK, but couldn't see anything obvious. so...

thanks so much for thinking of me, and taking the time to put together your envelope of treasures. I really appreciate the care you took to make a lovely and varied package of papers. The ATC blank, made of a kind of bronze(?) glimmery paper, is totally lovely, as is the Japanese paper which co-ordinates so well.

Carole: if you know who H. is, would you mind passes along my thanks? or if you think he/she wouldn't mind, if you told me his/her user name, then I could leave REP.

Hello all you wonderful people,
the RAK envelopes just keep pouring in, and you are all so kind and generous. WOW. and inventive - did I mention inventive, also artistic!!! It has been a very moving experience for me to have this flood of goodwill come towards me, in such a tangible way. I can't really describe how it feels, except to say, thank you so much, all of you.

I will be leaving another pile of REP this weekend (we have a post box, so we only pick up the mail a couple of times a week, so when we've been getting to the box recently - it's been bonanza time).

Thanks all, from Carole, and all your organizing, and your own RAK envelope to me, to all the generous and thoughtful participants. You are good people!! I am honoured to have been selected for your goodwill!

Wow - I am so grateful for all your generousity. I keep receiving RAK envelopes, with just fantastic, cards, gifts, handmade art, art supplies, papers, collage items, and most movingly, thoughts and best wishes. I will be leaving more REP this evening. but as you are an amazing group, I wanted to let you know, right now, what a joy it has been to receive so many wishes of love, health, and good fortune.
