Oh My Gosh I just couldn't resist doing this swap when I thought of the theme!!!

On April 25 1998, Sue Ellen Cooper and four friends dressed in Purple Outfits and Red Hats and went out tea together. It was so much fun that they dubbed themselves the "Red Hat Society". That was the begining ... for more informatin on Red Hat Society www.redhatsociety.com

THEME: Think Red and Purple, beads, lace, feathers, and ladies having lots fun!

Red Hat Ladies Swap Artwork: Each 4"x4" page should be decorated on the front and the back. Your major effort should be made on the front, and your artist information will go on the back include UserID, real name, and the city, state and country where you live (it's fun to see where they came from) -- but you can include other information too, as you like. Please decorate your backs too, but it's not necessary to make them as detailed or elaborate as the front -- just don't leave them plain!! No copies -- all pages must be original (but may be similar!).

Base & Embellishments: Please use a sturdy base for your pages -- cardboard from food boxes, mat or illustration board, or several layers of thick cardstock would be ideal. You want the page to stand up by itself without bending. Feel free to use any embellishments you choose -- fibers, chunky bits, beads, whatever! But please do not put any embellishments on the left edge, and use surface embellishments no more than 1/8 of an inch (.3 cm) thick.

Shipping: Please include a large label with your address on it. DO NOT INCLUDE A SASE. I will provide appropriate envelopes for all returns.

Return Postage: ALL participants must pay $2.50 USD for their own return postage.
US participants, please enclose stamps (preferred) or well concealed cash.
International participants, please enclose US stamps or well concealed US cash -- or international postal coupons. If none of the international options work for you, please PM me and we can try to work something else out.

Lets have fun with this feel free to ask if you have questions!

This looks like fun, but first I have to catch up on a few things. I'll be back as as soon as I can!

KK hope to see you soon stomarela. It seems everyone is fashionably late for sign-ups. I'll just sit here and play with my feather boa and beads, I know I didn't get all dressed up for nothing.

for some Red Hat Friends..... I can't seem to find any Red hatters meeting here in Colorado. I got my Red Hat and Boa last year. I want to play!

Awsome Miss Spunkygal there is a table right up front for us. It's so nice to meet you. Officially I'm a pink hatter but I prefer this swap to be the traditional Red and Purple colors. I thought Red Hat Society was a lot more popular than it seems to be. I thought this swap would be very popular. Also our local Red Hatters group fizzled out but not before I bought three hats and made another two! So sad, I have all this fun stuff and nowhere to go ...

I twas queen of our local chaper of red hatters for 4 years, but gradually members stopped attending and we disbanded last May. I do kind of miss it, and still have a closet full of purple outfits and red hats. I hosted a red hat ATC swap on the OS last year and it was pretty successful. I haven't done any chunky pages, and I can't decide whether or not to play in this one. I'm thinking NOT since I'd need to make four and I just don't think I'm up for that. I'll think on it for a while and if I decide to join you, I'll let you know.

I know the red hatters are still alive and well in Northern Utah. My mom has a great time with them. I hope we get more players.... I think we can have great fun!

Have you started your pages yet spunkygal? If not ... and maybe if this party doesn't go well we can switch to ATC's ... two pages do not make a very good book, LOL.

No, I haven't started them yet. I was just waiting to see how many players we would have. I agree, 2 pages just don't quite make a book.

Sorry, but I do not collect ATC's any more. I would not be interested in making them. Let me know what you decide.

If it turns out that you only get three people (that's only one more), than I'll join and make your forth so that each can have four pages for their books. Otherwise, I'll trade you a couple of ATCs.
