NoBOdy Puts Dolly in the Corner- An Art Doll swap rotation.

Swap Start March 2013 Swap Due Date –August 15 2013

Signup/withdraw date – March 15 2013
First Mail Date March 15 2013
Number of participants – 6 (We are FULL)

This swap is for a 3-D art doll collaboration,
The concept: Mail dolls among six artists, each artist contributing something to the work in progress. In the end each artist will receive back her doll with the art work and additions of the other 5 artists.

Rules for a rotation like this;

There are no withdrawals.

You will need a starter doll; torso, body parts you got from a store and put together.
If you would like to circulate some sort of journal with your doll so each artist can remark on their efforts when working on your doll, you may make something for this to include in the box when shipping. Nothing elaborate, but with 6 pages so each person can journal….or record your dolls rowdy partying while at their house!!

Postage & Mailing:

You will need some sort of mailing box that will hold your doll and last for six months of being opened repackaged and shipped off. No larger than 9x12 inch box to keep mailing costs down, no smaller than a small priority mailer from the US post. These are 3D dolls that will be shipped and mailed each month.
Dolls need to be mailed ON OR BEFORE the 15th of the month to the next artist in the travel plan.

For a NEW rotation check post number 307!

02-20-2013, 10:03 PM
How does anyone join if its already full? Lol.

02-21-2013, 10:52 AM
Here is the doll I am working on, I nailed a plastic face to a pineapple and the pineapple head has been glued to a cigar box. It's under 7 inches tall.
I have cloth arms and legs that I am sewing....
don't expect any fancy stitchery...but then again....that will give it character right??

02-21-2013, 11:41 AM
Mere is her pineapple cranium wooden? I have hair ideas for it.

02-21-2013, 11:57 AM
No it's a really hard plastic....but hollow-ish.
We have family that sent the kids some "vintage" fake fruit and veggie toys, I ripped this off just knowing the potential it could be for me!! HA.

02-21-2013, 12:38 PM
hello, lovers! :jiggy: i'm so excited!

02-21-2013, 12:44 PM
Found it!!!!

02-21-2013, 12:45 PM
Hey, I have that same doll face! hmmmm, the brain just clicked in, I'm gonna have me some fun with your doll!

02-21-2013, 01:26 PM
ahem...that's not a corner I see baby in is it?

02-21-2013, 01:26 PM
WOOOHOO! Yeah I just picked up that face for .25 cents at a salvation army place!!! i could NOT resist using it.
I always HAVE to stop at the wayward hole in the wall donation places and I never come out empty handed. *weirdo* hahaha!

02-21-2013, 01:27 PM
SHE IS, in a corner shelf. Up high away from wee hands that love to touch.

Poor baby, working the corner.

02-21-2013, 01:29 PM
I cannot wait to see what you guys come up with, this is going to fascinate the socks right off of me!

02-21-2013, 03:12 PM
i'm making recipe cards today . . . lol!

mr. greene is playing online poker while i make art. ha.

02-21-2013, 05:31 PM
Okay, I updated the travel rotation, or I redid it. Just make sure you recheck who you mail to every month because it's a complete change.

02-21-2013, 08:37 PM
I haven't even freaking looked at the chart! It does make sense that we don't always mail to the same person every time in case we want to send cookies or something with the dolly :)

Yeah Amy - make those recipes!

02-22-2013, 01:41 PM

that's a good point, Juli . . . I'll talk to Meredith about fussing with it again, since no one has sent a doll yet. :jiggy:

02-22-2013, 03:39 PM
I guess I just figured we'd mail to the same person every month, but if you can configure something different that won't mess everybody up then you go girl!
As of right now, get your dolly made and find a box that works for shipping and then we will tell you where it goes.
I need some Juli cookies myself, I have heard those are gooooOOOddd!

02-22-2013, 03:40 PM
Goldfish- WI is getting hit with the tail end of the MO storm...are you snowed in??? Enough snow for me already in these parts.
I am going nuts being homebound with my 3 wee wild ones!

02-22-2013, 03:49 PM
I was snowed in yesterday. Work was cancelled today too but I don't think I would have much problem getting out if I needed to. Taking it as a nice excuse to be lazy + work on art! :)

02-22-2013, 04:33 PM
okay yall I have 2 options for dolls, 1 is ready to be sent (pic below), the other is made of muslin. Please tell me which you would rather work on so I can hunt down a box and get this bitch ready!
P.S. ahem Juli......I am on the cookie list .....right?

02-22-2013, 04:56 PM
Lets see the muslin one!! I have to see them both for a proper vote!

02-22-2013, 04:57 PM
OMG that is freaking scary! I think it'll stay in the garage when it gets here lol.

Compiling a cookie list lol.

02-22-2013, 06:27 PM
well shit I don't wanna scare anybody.......:err::biglaugh:
I will work on the head for the muslin one tonight and post a pic when its done

02-22-2013, 06:40 PM
I have a head, a bod and one arm. Almost there.

02-22-2013, 08:17 PM
Coooookiiieeesssss! I think that doll is awesome.

02-22-2013, 08:24 PM
Thank you Goldieeeee! nanner nanner boo boo to you two! LMAO!
(still fussing with this muslin one, but my hearts not in it - jus sayin)

02-22-2013, 09:02 PM
You got a few days or 10 to think about it...!!

I might change mine up, still pondering that sewing thing. **WIDEeyed!

02-22-2013, 09:42 PM
Lovefroud, she's scary in a good way! Just needs a puppy or a drink or something to cheer her up - I can do that!

02-22-2013, 09:56 PM
Okay, third and final travel plan has been posted. This one created by your faerie. Looks good folks!

02-22-2013, 10:47 PM

02-23-2013, 12:03 AM
Thank you Juli! She is really quite charming, I think. Her name is Caterina and she is the long lost niece of Frankenstein.
I am working on another one and I will post it tomorrow (stuff needs to dry). I tossed the muslin one for now because the head was just not making me happy, BUT the new one is fun with metal bits, burlap, porcelain baby head and some paper clay legs! SOOO we shall seeeeeee!

02-23-2013, 12:31 PM
okay Mere choose....... ;)
(Those paper clay legs are heeeaaavyyyy)

02-23-2013, 01:30 PM
WOW!! Don't make me choose, I flounder under such intense pressure. I think I like the crazy lady the best, Caterina.

02-23-2013, 01:45 PM
Here's where I'm going... no surprise there is a kitchen theme!

02-23-2013, 01:59 PM
who cares if there is no more space? this will be a fun thread to follow as you all are crazy, crazy. Post the changes as you move along and share the art.

02-23-2013, 02:01 PM
hahaha, I told you I work with clay much more creatively.
Juli - adorable, of course!!

02-23-2013, 03:28 PM
Oh Juli- what a little gem of a kitchen head!!

Lilli- would you be opposed to us reattaching the legs/arms in another way? or are they a done deal.

I think I might not add arms to mine but legs are in the works. Just to give something else for someone to add to.

02-23-2013, 03:29 PM
BTW Juli, I just picked up a set of arms that might be really nice on yours!!!

02-23-2013, 03:54 PM
Really? Cool, no arms until then!

02-23-2013, 07:38 PM
I had to glue the silk cord on the arms but you can undo it! go for it!

02-23-2013, 07:39 PM
*you can even sand it if you need it to "hang" a different way!

02-23-2013, 11:41 PM
i need to get crackin' . . . in the meantime, i want my effin' hearts to get here, meredith!

02-24-2013, 12:03 AM
Everybody's dolls are looking awesome! I feel behind already. Got some ideas though.

02-24-2013, 01:42 PM
me, too, goldfish. we're in the same boat. or i'm in it while you swim alongside. :)

02-24-2013, 03:06 PM
Haha. I did a search for art dolls on pinterest last night and killed about an hour oogling the amazing things on there... instead of actually working on mine. :P

02-27-2013, 08:15 PM
I just got home from a way-too-long international adventure and feel the superest behind. I have never in my life been so happy to be home and am excited to be able to relax and get my art doll on. All of you are off to such a super incredible start. I'm in love.

02-27-2013, 08:45 PM
Welcome home BigKay and welcome to the swap!! I have heard only the greatest of things about you and your art.

02-27-2013, 08:46 PM
uh huh me too.

02-27-2013, 11:16 PM
I'm already shellacing (sp?) smokes for your doll BK!

02-28-2013, 09:01 AM
thanks ladies, it is so good to be back.

so, I have never done an art doll swap like this. How much of the doll do I make myself? Head torso & limbs?
also, does the weight matter or are we using those anything-you-can-cram-into-it-for-one-price priority boxes? the idea for my torso piece is heavy.

juli, I love you.

02-28-2013, 09:09 AM
I think at least a head and torso, limbs are up to you, but a good thing that someone could add while working.
9x12 box is the biggest. If you mail to Juli and it is really heavy then maybe slip her a treat in there or something. I would try and shop around for adequate boxes OR if you know yours is going to rock the scale then just go for priority- so that the weight doesn't effect the shipping.
I am really new to the world of mailing. But I think we are going to be across the board here with sizes and weights. Which is why we decided a 9x12 box 4" deep should be max.

02-28-2013, 09:11 AM
I feel like the priority boxes get really big....there is not a middle man box with priority. Ahhh do what you want BK!!

02-28-2013, 12:22 PM
just my thoughts here, but I am going to "try" to stay away from heavy with my doll and my adding pieces. Every time I go to the PO I am in fucking shock as to how much it is to mail something across the states because postage is going up. I just mailed earrings and a pendant to Canada and it cost me 8 bucks in the smallest padded envy size; 4.75 x 7, and to send to California the same size and weight is $5.00.

02-28-2013, 01:11 PM
I just sent something to Canada and it cost $6.00...and the host only requested $4 for return postage. I gave her a $5, thinking I was generous until we found out the cost of the envelope.

02-28-2013, 03:16 PM
I think that was me Nancy lol. I am totally going to get burned on postage in that swap.
The tighter I wrap a package the cheaper it is, weight is also a factor but I try to leave little room left over. Sending a Tshirt to the states costs me $7 and change.

02-28-2013, 11:22 PM
Are we doing the whole journal thing with the doll?

03-01-2013, 06:26 PM
I was out on a jaunt all day and just got back! If you want to scrap the journal thing, lets. I don't care really. Track progress via the forum anyhow, I guess.
It might just add extra weight to do the journal and have it in the box for shipping.

03-01-2013, 06:38 PM
And it's more flipping work!

03-01-2013, 08:38 PM
i agree. too much work.

03-01-2013, 08:49 PM
Ha we've got the same sort of swap going too. 6 people, 6 dolls 6 varieties of wonderful.

03-01-2013, 08:51 PM
Just found this guy in gallery, freaking cool doll http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/gallery/index.php?n=350033

03-05-2013, 10:48 AM
By the end of the week I will be mailing off to Juli. It's about a week early, but my legs are attached and Pineapple head will be ready to vacation in Canada!

03-05-2013, 03:40 PM
RE the journal thing: Jewels in our swap has a little photo journal that is traveling with her doll. It makes it easy to add to without getting knotted up over the drama of making a bunch of HP/HD artwork.

03-05-2013, 06:44 PM
OKay, my legs have been attached. They are on there but easily removable if someone wants to take them off and do something with them.
I am going to get her boxed up and mail either Friday or Monday if I can get to the P.O.

03-05-2013, 06:53 PM
Junkie, I think it would be easier just to use the forum to document the dolls growth hormone treatment.

03-05-2013, 08:24 PM
that's how we started, but when you get the doll you are get so riled up wanting to finish the dern thing that having a journal-y thingy helps defuse the hyperactive muse

03-05-2013, 08:48 PM
She's a cutie Mere, can't wait to tart her up a bit!

03-05-2013, 09:01 PM
She needs a bit of sass and tart that's for sure. She's sweet right now....and the multicolored knitted legs don't help! Cannot wait to see what the rest of the bunch make.

03-05-2013, 10:54 PM
Mere did you sew her legs? Key-ute!

03-07-2013, 10:10 PM
hello hello Mere, I'm talking to you!

03-08-2013, 09:41 AM
HAHHa, sorry Froud. I think I read the post, got distracted and never came back!

Those legs are knitted.

Where is everyone, it's a ghost town up in here!!!!!!!!!!!!

03-08-2013, 01:54 PM
Okay I am having box anxiety....

03-08-2013, 02:00 PM
Would anyone use a little disposable camera if i placed it in the box with the Caterina for a "journey" photo journal that I will put together when she arrives home to me?
You know, take a pic of you and her hanging out with your clam out, drinking beers, smoking stuff, having some cake, whatever fits your fancy.

03-08-2013, 02:02 PM
okay your clam doesn't "actually" have to be hanging out......just wanted to clear that up:P

03-08-2013, 03:49 PM

03-08-2013, 06:13 PM
Well it is Lent and it is Friday so there might be a lot of clams hanging out. You wont be getting my clam on film, bearded or not.

03-08-2013, 09:10 PM
Hahaha. Careful what you ask for... They might look at ya funny when you pick up the photos.

03-08-2013, 09:28 PM
Okay I am having box anxiety....

Did your "box" anxiety bring on the clam talk?

03-08-2013, 09:37 PM
apparently I need to get laid!

03-08-2013, 09:43 PM

I cannot speak at the moment, as I am laughing...

03-08-2013, 09:46 PM
I got plenty Mere, thanks though

03-08-2013, 09:59 PM
I'm so innaprop! I need to go to bed, it's wine:30!

03-10-2013, 05:28 PM
I am going to change the subject here and shamelessly promote my new atc swap! Which you can find herehttp://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25790.

Each one of you would be good at drawing devils for me right??? and angels!!

03-10-2013, 07:24 PM
I have stacks of unfiled ATCs on my desk and when I do "file" them, I rarely ever look at them again so I decided a while ago to not do any more atc swaps here. But it does sound good :-)

03-10-2013, 07:37 PM
We all need to fly to Canada for an atc filing party at Jules house!!

03-11-2013, 01:10 PM
Speaking of devils... here's my little dude. He doesn't have a name yet.

03-11-2013, 01:51 PM
NOW that is GREAT!!! We can put arms, legs...wings??? My muse has sparked!

03-11-2013, 04:34 PM

03-11-2013, 11:49 PM
Can't wait to get my grubby hands on that Goldie!

03-12-2013, 01:00 AM
I'm excited to see what you fabulously devious ladies devise for him!

03-12-2013, 09:55 AM
3 DAYS AND WE mail or before the 15th, mine is going today!

03-12-2013, 05:21 PM
I have a few confessions.

#1 I signed up for this swap without ever having owned an art doll or really knowing what one was. Why would you do that BigKay? That makes no sense and is dumb. That may be true but I couldn't resist.

#2 I abandoned my original plan because it called for a really heavy vintage camera as the body and would have cost a zillion dollars to mail around.

#3 I'm still not sure I know what an art doll is but I collect bobbleheads, so my art doll is going to be a bobblehead.

#4 All of your dolls are awesome and make me wonder if maybe I made mine wrong. But it's mine to keep when the exchange is over, so that's unpossible, right?

#6 I am attaching a photo of my guy. I painted the head but only because that made sculpting it easier. You can all repaint it however you want. The arms and legs are easily removable if you want to hook him up with some prosthetics. (I am not attaching the head and the spring to make it bobble until I get it back because I have received enough bobbleheads in the mail to know that it will break before it gets back here)

#7 If you are way more experienced than I am and know that the video card body is a bad idea, let me know and I can whip up body made from cloth or a box.

All that typing made me sleepy but thanks for putting up with it  xo BK

03-12-2013, 05:25 PM

#1- I think yours is GREAT!

#2 don't worry because these can be tweaked/changed/altered as we go along!

#3 and 4 DONT worry about it!

#5 I have sugar cookies in the oven and three screaming kids gottagobye!!!!!!!!!

03-12-2013, 05:29 PM
Thanks, I think I love you.
And I know I love sugar cookies.

03-12-2013, 05:38 PM
He looks awesome Big Kay!!!!!! I was all freaked at first thinking I had to sew and shit but each is different. I think the key is not putting too much on your doll so the others have lots to work on. That and I figure I won't fall in love with mine until she gets back cos god knows what kind of crap she's going to get up to!

Any chance of grown-up cookies Mere?

03-12-2013, 05:47 PM
Thanks Jules, I like yours too. She looks like a girl I could drink a bacon martini with.

03-12-2013, 06:55 PM
My doll will be fully complete & in the mail by Thursday . . . I'm waiting for some E6000 to dry right now. :jiggy:

03-12-2013, 07:22 PM
Dang BK, nothin and then out of the blue :chatterbox:! Jusssst kiddddingggg! Looks like a good start and I think I will give it some panties first off!

Amy.......yay but, ahem.... picture?? Everybody else posted one! why you gotta be so different??? Huh??? (♥ u)

03-12-2013, 08:04 PM
I think he's pretty rad BK. I have never made an art doll either. I am pretty sure you can't do it wrong though.

03-12-2013, 09:25 PM
I glued kitschen bitch's head on today and will mail tomorrow. If it falls off just slap it back on!

03-12-2013, 10:36 PM
okay, so he's drying a bit . . . then i'll take a photo. :) it's the week before final exams at school, so i'm a bit crazed right now between work and lurve.

i'm thinking i'm done with my doll & ready to ship, but i'm not sure whether i should feel like that. :) you'll see.

03-12-2013, 10:42 PM

i love EVERYONE's dolls! :) so wonderful! i can't wait to see them up close and play with them. mine is a little odd, too, but hopefully you'll all be able to do something to spice him up and weird him out. :jiggy:

he's a porcelain doll bust, a fiberglass mannequin hand, joined with paper mache and then decoupaged with vintage text.

03-12-2013, 11:13 PM
Oh yeah!

03-12-2013, 11:28 PM
Oh hey! Hello Amy's sweet mutant baby. I love you!

03-13-2013, 12:14 AM
Ahh! Amazing!

03-13-2013, 12:20 AM
Wow....that hand looks so real!!!!!

03-13-2013, 08:07 AM
Amy, that is amazing! It's like a Franken-mer-child!

03-13-2013, 08:16 AM
Yes! A weird feejee mermaid. :) thanks, all!

03-13-2013, 10:05 AM
I mailed my doll yesterday to grrrdjules.

Everyone post in here when you recieve your doll and perhaps put some of your progress pics!! Half the fun will be to see how the dolls are morphing.

*Disclaimer on my doll- the legs are very easily removable...I attached them with brads (super cheesy brads too ;)
So if you decide when you get my doll that you have a better idea for legs or whatever I am okay with them being scrapped for something new or altered any way you want.

03-13-2013, 11:31 AM
Very Nice Ms. Fair! see I knew we all needed to see it!!
Cat is ready to ship out!

03-13-2013, 11:36 AM
before I forget, Her hair is sheep hair so it may shed, glue (I use fabric glue) fixes the problem.

03-13-2013, 01:32 PM
awesome peeking from the box! :)

03-13-2013, 02:18 PM
WAHOO we are shipping out, I cannot wait to get my hands on my first victim!!!!!!!

03-14-2013, 04:26 PM
Doll is in the mail to Big Kay, $10.85. That's not too bad. It's a small box, may have to be bigger along the way lol.

03-15-2013, 07:45 PM
My dolly is making his dastardly way to you Mere.

03-16-2013, 09:30 PM
So stoked to see another doll swap like this! Saw the other one and now some of us AZ girls are going to do one too. (Only we are going to exchange in person) I loved the idea the minute I saw Ruth's at ARTzona!
I'm going to stalk you all as if you were made of Mr. Green Brownies with a bacon glaze! Can't wait to see how you ladies ROCK these dolls out!!

03-21-2013, 11:00 AM
Last night and this morning I was working on legs for Goldie's doll! Check these out!

03-21-2013, 07:57 PM
Creeeepy! Love it.

03-22-2013, 12:22 PM
Thanks Cara, I am glad you like them in their mottle-ness.
Now, attaching them might just kill me, but I will figure it out!

Okay everybody- let us know when you have dolls!!!

03-22-2013, 01:04 PM
Oooo Ohhhh! Mere they are FAB-ulous!

03-22-2013, 07:01 PM
hello ladies, I mailed my robo doll out to lovefroud late! But as of Wednesday it is on its way. I had a hard time deciding what kind of box to mail it in but I figured it out. I opted for a way too big box to give him room to grow but it is very light so mailing was pretty cheap ($4.50 w/ tracking). The tracking # says it should arrive tomorrow.

i also received juli's little bundle of love, which I have been staring at adoringly since it arrived.

03-22-2013, 07:02 PM
meredith, those legs are freakin' fantastic.

03-22-2013, 07:46 PM
Sooooo.... Is anyone deathly afraid of spiders or snakes?

03-22-2013, 07:53 PM
Not me! Though I am deathly afraid of dead animals reanimating if I get too close to them and lunging at my face.

03-22-2013, 08:00 PM
Well there goes my plan to stick some bonus roadkill in the box...

03-22-2013, 08:03 PM
Well, you still can but you would probably end up being arrested for manslaughter because I would waste no time having a heart attack and dieing immediately.

03-22-2013, 09:44 PM

03-22-2013, 09:46 PM
i'm not afraid of anything as long as it's not alive. :) i can't wait to see lilli's little bundle! i'll be at Mr. Greene's house this coming week for 4 to 5 days, so I'll have to get started on it once i'm back home. yay for spring break!

03-23-2013, 08:59 AM
With you there BKay, I can't even walk past the dead freaking mice our cat brings home daily. LOVE the legs Mere!

03-23-2013, 01:31 PM
I like dead things as long as they don't stink...but I think if you sent roadkill in the mail goldie it may just cross the line into something we may have to find psychiatrist for.:err: :biglaugh:

03-24-2013, 07:47 PM
So Mere, is it okay if I dabble in your box?

03-24-2013, 08:54 PM
Dabble dabble DO!!

03-25-2013, 07:51 PM
Hopefully, everybody receives their dollies this week in the mail and is pumped and raring to go!! I know some of you are on spring break- keg stands, tan lines and etc!!!!!!!! ;)

No spring break here, everyday is a work day. Boo. I'm not even going to dye easter eggs, with the snow we have, the white eggs will camouflage right into the landscape (and we will still be finding eggs in July).

03-25-2013, 10:32 PM
I am so f'ing tired. Worked 8 hours on puter. Edited 4 hours in front of Come Dine with Me. Add teen fighting with dad and I need xanax. Wish I freaking had some. On the plus side I got through spin class planning an arm and box fun for Meredith's dolly.

Yup, I shamelessly whined but mentioned the swap so it works!

03-27-2013, 12:09 PM
I received Kay's electronic bobble head dolly yesterday! I can't decide if it is male or female yet but it did beg for some underpants!

03-27-2013, 01:01 PM
ooohhhh Love hearing it gals!!

Jules- that was my sticking point when working on my doll- to arm or not to arm? SO, I am glad you figured something out!

Froud- I am glad you are in "work mode" with Kay's transgender doll. We will love it no matter what it ends up being! Underpart onward. Wait I mean, underpant onward!

03-27-2013, 06:27 PM
Lovefroud, that is great news. I'm thrilled that my frankensteined box survived the trip. I imagined it fell apart immediately. I love me some underpants. I can't wait to see what you do with my androgynous bobble bot.

I made a few bits for Juli's doll and am pondering how much I should add. She is quite the chain-smoker.

03-29-2013, 02:22 PM
I made a few bits for Juli's doll and am pondering how much I should add. She is quite the chain-smoker.

03-29-2013, 11:25 PM
Quite the ingenious box thing going on Big Kay. Arrived in one piece;)

04-04-2013, 04:57 PM
I believe my additions to Goldfishes doll will be done by this weekend and I will be mailing to Lilli next week.

How has everybody been doing, it's a ghost town up in here!

04-08-2013, 11:04 PM
Here is Juli's doll after 3 weeks at my house. She got her hair did, slapped on an apron, and fried herself up some bacon legs - chain smoking all the while. I didn't permanently attach the cigarettes and the apron. It's her outfit, so you can take them off. Which she did. Often. Good times.

04-09-2013, 09:19 AM
KAY!! That is hilarious and grrrreat for grrrdjules! WOO HOO!

I am close with goldie's doll, I'll get some pics up and then I hope to mail soon!

04-09-2013, 09:20 AM
Still laughing about those bacon legs TOO COOL!!!!!! :jiggy:

04-09-2013, 10:47 AM
Love those bacon legs!!! And that hair ROCKS!!!

04-09-2013, 10:54 AM
Hilarious!!!! Love the legs and the butts tucked into the apron!

04-09-2013, 10:58 AM
I'm glad you like her, Jules! I made the butts, so they won't be stinky. I do not advise trying to smoke them. I also wouldn't eat the bacon if I were you.

04-09-2013, 03:16 PM

04-09-2013, 04:00 PM
Baxon - lovin, chain-smoking kitchen bitch ain't got no time for a fussy hair do!
ha Haaaaa! she's awesome!

04-10-2013, 09:18 PM
Here's some piccys of Cara's devil child. I kind of want to play "A Devil Went Down to Georgia" since this baby is mailing to GA tomorra!!!!!!
Devil gal can sit nicely on anything now that she has some legs for days and a nice pink belly! I will miss this devil love child.

04-10-2013, 09:20 PM

04-11-2013, 02:03 PM
Love those legs!!!!! Here are some pics of Mere's dolly. The arm is removable - it sits on a hook. I didn't glue the tiny dancer piece down in the box to make it easier for someone else to work on the inside of the box.

04-11-2013, 09:58 PM
Fantastic ladies! Mere I Just loooove what you've done with my dear devil. Those legs are beyond fab! I've been having a tough time with "the hand" simply because I love it so dang much I don't wanna F$&@ it up! Making some good progress now though and am confident I will be done by Sunday. :)

04-11-2013, 10:37 PM
Jules, awesome work!! I love that tiny dancer and my ice tea holding hand!!

I'm glad you like it Cara! I seriously had some doubts about how far to go with it, not wanting to f it up either!!!!!! I know what you mean. Just remember it has to travel to others, that was my saving grace to stop working and mail it!

04-11-2013, 10:38 PM
I think that drink in hand is a Long Island, I need 'un after this day! Whew.

04-12-2013, 08:43 AM
It's hard to know how much to do; you don't want to cheap out but you have to leave room for everyone else. I think I'll paint the back of the box and leave it at that!

04-12-2013, 03:03 PM
Juli, I felt that way with your doll too. After I made the legs, that didn't seem like enough, so I did the hair. That still didn't seem like enough so I made the apron and the smokes so they could be removable. That way, if someone needs the extra space to work, they can just take her clothes off!

Mere, it's unanimous that those legs are awesome. They look great on that lil devil.

04-15-2013, 01:33 PM
okay . . . so i've been an absentee doll-sitter lately. i realize i blame far too much stuff on my job, but the start of the term can be rough. I'm leaving for Seattle on Thursday morning, so I'm planning on finishing up my work to Lilli's baby tonight and tomorrow so I can ship it on before I go.

I LOVE what everyone's doing! :)

04-15-2013, 02:00 PM
Heading to the post office later this aft.

04-15-2013, 02:25 PM
Here's what I've got going on with Amy's dolly. I added some gold to the book pages. The fox mask is removable and the heart is attached but I think clothing could still go on top of it if anyone is so inclined. The post office looked kind of insane so I'm going to mail tomorrow.

04-15-2013, 06:41 PM
That fox mask is fantastic!

04-15-2013, 11:32 PM
omfg . . . that fox mask ROCKS! :jiggy:

here is lilli's baby girl . . . i reattached her limbs with pink wire, added bat wings i cut from a vintage cigarette tin, painted a few tattoos, eyeliner, and lipstick, then added the found text.

the wings are easily removed by taking off the wire . . . and her hair is still wild; i just have it pinned up while i was working.

04-15-2013, 11:33 PM
she's heading out to BigKay tomorrow!

04-16-2013, 09:29 AM
WOOT WOOT! I miss all the good when I am away.

Goldfish- that mask!! Foxy Lady Amy and her Foxy doll!

Amy- cool...coooool bat winged tattooed misfit---LOVE!

04-16-2013, 07:15 PM
I mailed Juli's grrrrl out to Amy today!

04-16-2013, 07:53 PM
I mailed today too.

Woo! Psyched for round 2!

04-17-2013, 08:42 AM
Lilli's doll went out to BigKay yesterday morning!

04-18-2013, 11:08 AM
Amy's merbaby is here! I am already thinking some "ombre tentacles" need to happen STAT!

Cara- that mask IRL is to DIE for!! Too bad it doesn't fit my face, I would make off with it! :jiggy:

04-18-2013, 05:03 PM
Lilli's doll has landed safely at my apartment! I think she suffered a little too much turbulence during her trip though and her arm (the bent one) broke! Poor lil thing. I'll have to make her a cast for it.

04-18-2013, 05:47 PM
Sounds good!! Too bad about the bum arm, at least you can save the day Dr. Katie!!!

I messed up and mailed to Lilli instead of Juli so Lilli has agreed to mail to Juli for me so Jules has a doll to work on.

I have Amy's doll and have started working on it.

04-18-2013, 10:26 PM
So.....I spent this afternoon working on Amy's doll and here she/he be:

04-21-2013, 06:04 PM
oh nooooooooo......that damn arm has been a burr in my butt since birth! Thanks for doctoring her up Kay! just part of her journey!
Yes Jules I will mail the demon child to you and may I say she is very cool!

04-23-2013, 11:43 AM
eeek! so sorry about the arm! i just picked up my new dollie yesterday--i haven't even opened the box yet, but it's safe!

04-24-2013, 11:04 AM
hahaha! Meredith did you put that lil baby arm on? Hilarious. Awe she's blue and has a teeny tiny arm! Reminds me of that mutant toy in "Toy Story" from Sid's house!

04-24-2013, 01:20 PM
I did add a teeny arm and the blue and the mis matched eyes. The doll is sitting up high in her box...not going to K's house YET! I might add a little more something something. Gotta sleep on it.

05-03-2013, 09:27 PM
So quiet in the dolly corner! How's everyone doing? I don't have a doll. Lovefroud did you mail to me?

05-03-2013, 09:30 PM
I'm waiting for a doll too.

05-03-2013, 11:08 PM
Froud did mail to you Jules, she texted me when she did.

Perhaps she mailed the same day to you Cara!

fingers crossed.

I do have amy's doll and it's mostly done, so if we need to reroute our route, we maybe can. Unless that would cause angst and major frito pounding for therapy.

05-03-2013, 11:25 PM
I've been jazzing up Lili's doll's legs a little at a time. Should be all finished with her by the end of next week. I might even have some photos by the end of the weekend.

I haven't seen an update on my doll yet. Who's working on him now?

05-03-2013, 11:26 PM
Lilli has your doll Kay. Or has mailed it...

05-05-2013, 09:13 PM
i'm putting a few more legs on Juli's doll tomorrow or tuesday; i have the eye hooks in place.

. . . i added a cabinet-door knob plate as small wings and a typewriter daisy wheel as a saint-like halo already, and a few inchies on the checkered front. i'll take photos and ship him off to meredith a bit early!

05-06-2013, 12:19 PM

there's another photo in the gallery of the charms i added to the bottom. :)

05-07-2013, 04:45 PM
OKay, so Juli now has Cara's doll with her in Can.

Lilli has mailed to Cara (kati's doll) Kay your doll is in good shape with some sexy underwears.

I am planning to mail to you Kay in the next few days. I had some international mail I need to get off and the box with Amy's mer baby will be heading for Jersey.

05-07-2013, 05:41 PM
OMG it looks like my dolly is wearing granny panties!!!!

05-07-2013, 05:44 PM
I love the party going on between dolly's legs - one of us is having lotsa fun! Glad you guys are adding to the front inchie "grid" - this is so much fun!!!

05-09-2013, 10:52 PM
juli's will go out the mere tomorrow . . . i've not been driving this week, but i am going to work tomorrow (i can't pull a full week off sick . . . even though i want to).

05-09-2013, 11:47 PM
Big Kay's dolly is safely in the fishbowl and I will be working on him this weekend.

05-10-2013, 07:53 AM
I can't get tropical drinks out of my mind when I see Mere's dolly. I think that pineapple needs a straw and a bottle of rum perhaps!

05-10-2013, 08:59 AM
Thank you everybody for posting to the thread, so I can update the master page and get everything squared away. I believe I am doing it for my own frantic mind- rather than for all of you (capable adults) ;)

This has been the week of Losing "It" for me. Bring on the weekend. WHEW!

05-10-2013, 09:56 AM
lol! all is good . . . and it's friday!

05-12-2013, 06:13 PM
cara's doll has grown a pair.

Arms that is :)

And a little colour and a birthmark on that precious face. I feel the need to get something started at the back...maybe a little tattoo 'tween the shoulder blades. Or a tail...

05-12-2013, 10:08 PM
love it!

05-13-2013, 05:32 AM
Nice Jules!!

05-13-2013, 10:55 AM
Sweet! Loving the additions.

05-13-2013, 02:13 PM
I did send to Mere on Friday afternoon . . . so maybe Wednesday Juli's doll will be in Wisconsin. :)

I am surprisingly caught up on mail art--an art doll or three to make for Mrs. Alderman's swap, and I'm done! WOOT!

I am currently working on a few 6x6 gallery-edged mixed-media canvases, by the way, if anyone's interested in trading wall art. :)

05-13-2013, 05:28 PM
Ooooooh, I may want in on that action! Goldfish's doll is enroute to lovefroud.

05-14-2013, 01:25 PM
Amy's doll is enroute to BigKay!

05-15-2013, 11:16 AM
Okay SO.......I got a minute to catch up,
ahem, AMYFAERIE!!!!!!! MY DOLLY IS FREAKING AWESOMMMMME! (did you hear that? all the way over there? you should have cause I was screaming it!) I LOVE her! I LOVE you! love love love love!!!!!

Goldie's demon can play "fully" now that she has appendages! Yay! Jules! Back tattoo ummm, yes!

I have all my ideas planned out for Mere-the-mostest-hostest so I should be able to finish her up and post some pics before mailing her on! woooo! go me!

All for now!♥

05-15-2013, 11:51 AM
Just got Juli's doll here. Opened and in my hands. The halo busted off...might have to upgrade a box here and see if something sturdier will work to ship for the rest of her voyage.

I have another halo to incorporate with Amy's fab halo so no worries, Kitchen Angel is on the mend!

BlOWN away with Juli's doll, holy cannoli it's neat! Kay those bacon legs that you made from clay...did not realize they were made out of clay until now!

05-15-2013, 09:03 PM
Kay's bobble boy has acquired some black lace trim on his manties and drag make-up. I have a couple more additions planned but will get him on his way ASAP.

05-15-2013, 10:11 PM
shit--thank you, mere! i thought the halo was in fine shape in the box--ugh!

05-15-2013, 10:57 PM
So far we've not lost any dolls!! So no worries!! E6000 is my best friend!

05-16-2013, 11:28 AM
i do love that E6000! :) I put jules's doll in a slightly bigger box, but I didn't think that it wouldn't be sturdy enough! UGH!

05-19-2013, 01:10 PM
Goldies demon child is in the hiz-zouse!

05-19-2013, 01:11 PM
I am gonna be captain obvious here and say that we rock.

05-19-2013, 05:26 PM
Goldies demon child is in the hiz-zouse!

And we rock in the most non-aggrandizing way possible. :spinny:

05-22-2013, 12:29 AM
Here's Big Kay's robo-boy thus far. Lovefroud made the awesome wings. ( I attached them with wire but they could probably use some glue to stabilize them. I didn't glue it in case people want to make adjustments later. ) I also gave him some make-up and accessorized his man-pants with lace and a zombie heart. obvs. Oh and a bottle cap chest receptacle. I almost put an eyeball in there but I thought it would be fun for someone down the line to fill it in. He's going in the mail to Amy tomorrow!

05-22-2013, 06:16 PM
That looks cool!! It's like a big belt buckle zombie heart, face touches are neat too!!

WOOTY Woo. Is that baby coming to me next?

05-23-2013, 11:21 PM
My man is lookin' good!

I finished up with Lovefroud's a while ago but haven't been able to get to the PO. She is headed out to Juli tomorrow though. I jazzed up her legs with some heart-shaped birthmarks/lesions and made her an outfit - some underwear and a pair of feet shaped boots - both removable.

I received Amy's doll too! Also, lookin' fly. I have no idea what I am going to do with it, but right now, we chillin'. I'm so in love with this fox mask that I am going to put it on my own dolls and take pictures of them while it's here. xoxo

05-24-2013, 07:56 AM
goldfish and BigKay those both look fantarstic!

05-24-2013, 09:22 AM
Wow Kay! Nice job, loving those boots are made for walking boots- or for floating down the river in a leaf boat! ;)

05-25-2013, 09:49 AM
WOOOOOOOO! WOOOOOOOO! Yea Yuh! I am biting my bottom lip with my pink and index finger up all "Ozzy-rock-on" style right now (well I am from the south ya know) The baby dolls are R.O.C.K.I.N.G.
Love the additions to big kay's lil man, panty additions were needed!
My gal is.....wow!......just wow......:notworthy:

05-25-2013, 09:52 AM
She looks SO good holding that gun Kay! (where the hell did you find one that small?) AND I can't even tell that her arm ever had an issue!

05-26-2013, 11:11 AM
i can't wait to git my hands on that bebe!

05-26-2013, 11:20 AM
Foot boooots!! She's looking bad ass.

05-26-2013, 11:41 AM
Das boot!

06-02-2013, 04:56 PM
Do I mail Juli's doll to goldfish next? I'm not done with it, not even close, but I want to be sure of who I am mailing to next.
Vulnerability alert here- how can I HOST this thing and not be able to get the rotation right? LOL!! (I'm secure with poking fun at myself) ;)

In other news, I have these kick ass arms I was going to attach to Juli's doll but on second thought I'm not going to. The make the doll look like a line backer when I hold them up on the sides. He would go from Kitchen Charlie to Defensive End Dirk. There is not a jock strap big enough to even cover that dudes dangling junk.

06-02-2013, 06:22 PM
Hehe. Dangling junk. Yes you mail to me.

I checked my tracking and it looks like Big Kay's dollly made it to Amy.

I think I should be getting your doll next Mere. Can't wait!

06-02-2013, 10:49 PM
Ok, By the end of the week I shall be mailing to you Cara. **Found some arms, these might be winners folks!

06-03-2013, 03:08 PM
Maybe he needs linebacker arms to defend his stupendous junk lol! Lovefroud's doll arrived safe and sound. No definite plans for her yet.

06-03-2013, 06:46 PM
Heehee, Kevan comes home from school; sees the doll on my art table. Picks it up saying "WTF is ths?" (Yes he swears like his mother) and then turns it over and screams. Almost dropped it for god's sake!

06-03-2013, 08:33 PM
Oh Boy- get that baby a helmet!!!!!

06-03-2013, 09:24 PM
I brought her to work and packed her up there. My coworkers had a similar reaction.

Heehee, Kevan comes home from school; sees the doll on my art table. Picks it up saying "WTF is ths?" (Yes he swears like his mother) and then turns it over and screams. Almost dropped it for god's sake!

06-12-2013, 09:13 PM
So how's errybody doing? I just wanna give you all a heads up that I will be out of town from the 16th to the 24th. My boyfriend will be home though so don't let it stop you from mailing me those dollies! (I don't have one right now) Can't wait to see what fantastic-ness comes out of this round.

06-13-2013, 10:31 AM
I am mailing to you tomorrow Miss.Cara, thanks for the heads up and hopefully your bf can intercept Juli's dolly. From here to Kansas city it's usually a quick ride.

I'll be posting pics later too!!

06-14-2013, 10:25 AM
Here are some pics from Juli's doll- the doll got a halo addition, a fish who is trying to eat the spider, a bingo chip (that actually happens to be close to inchie size and is wooden), arms and a hair paint job!

06-14-2013, 10:27 AM
***Since tomorrow is the 15th, I hope that everyone is mailing a doll off. Lets see some piccys too!!

06-14-2013, 10:41 AM
She is looking awesome!!!! Doing some hairdo work here as well.

She now has some streaks, some scars, some back boobs and oh yeah, another face. If she wants privacy she can let her hair down!

06-15-2013, 10:24 AM
Love the back boobs!!! Very nice work!

06-15-2013, 02:06 PM
Nice work with the Froud babe! She is coming along. I cannot wait to see her IRL. I love getting each doll because they are all so different.

I mailed to Goldfish, with a Wednesday arrival date. Woot woot!

06-22-2013, 08:02 AM
Lilli's doll is here!! This baby is a hottie for sure. I am trying to think about what I need to do with her.

06-24-2013, 09:09 PM
I'm back from vacation + Juli's doll is safe and sound here chez moi. Love him so far and I've got lots of ideas cookin'.

06-25-2013, 06:16 PM
No dollie here yet which is just as well, I'm dangerously close to being behind on moley commitments.

06-29-2013, 04:58 PM
Did you guys see this new swap? http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=26632

06-29-2013, 11:57 PM
Juli, I got a late start due to receiving the doll late from Goldie, but I'll have it out in the mail on Monday--I promise! :embarrassed:
