How many would like to have an Earth Day Marathon?

Earth Day is the 22nd of April, which is a Monday. I thought we could have it from the 18th or 19th until the 22nd.

Would like some feed back or are you all Marathoned out?

if we are not out of town that weekend...ill definitely be playing!

04-07-2013, 12:12 AM
I love Earth Day!! I would definitely play at least some of those days probably the Friday and Saturday 19 and 20th

04-07-2013, 01:20 AM
I would love to join in - I am on holidays so will have plenty of time to play

04-07-2013, 03:56 AM
I'm not tired of the marathons at all, but have just had so much else to do when they've taken place! So thanks for the suggestion. This time, I could find time to play on Thu & Fri but on Sat and Sun I'm away at a live crafting event.

04-07-2013, 11:07 PM
I see we have a few interested....I'll have to send out some emails and see if we get anymore takers

04-08-2013, 04:19 AM
I can play over the weekends if my muse decide to cooperate.

04-08-2013, 11:10 AM
I am never tired of athons, but that weekend I will be busy with my sisters birthday and attending the art and craft market in my village. But I will make some time to play!

04-08-2013, 11:41 AM
Great ladies more the merrier.

04-08-2013, 07:02 PM
I'm not sure. I will try.

04-08-2013, 11:23 PM
I will be setting up some challenges which are all optional..
If you best art is recycled materials, then all means use what you are comfortable using and make your art what you are best at.

I sure hope you will come have fun with us.

04-08-2013, 11:25 PM
I will set up an official site when it gets closer.

04-09-2013, 08:08 AM
Ough...leaving for Geneva on Saturday 20th. Seems like I am banned from Athon's this year :<((

04-09-2013, 08:19 AM
*lol* Marilou, that's not the athons' fault, though... less travelling, more creating! :P

I'll try to play... hope it'll work better than the last times... :jimlad:

04-09-2013, 08:37 AM
Oh Marilou travel while you can there will always be time to create when you might not be able to go.

I will need a couple of Co-hosts. I won't be able to be here on Sunday.

gabby...good idea to get your stuff ready so when the time comes you are ready to go. I have cut a lot of back...just need to find other things to go with it. Glad you will be here.

Just being here to answer any questions that might come up and complimenting on the art that is posted. If you want to read more and how it is done check out this thread as it is a a-thon that just took place. Another place see more you can click on Forum on the top of the page..scroll ldown until you see ATC trades and then click on the 'Media-Athons' - Collage, Digital, Draw, Brush(Paint), Stamp'. Then you can read through other a-thon that have taken place.

Please feel free to keep asking questions.

If you're okay with a co-hosting newbie, I'd like to try. :) I can cover European daytime, I guess (though I'm not up as early as the other girls around here... I'm a student, it's my job to sleep long and be lazy. ;) )

Will any of the challenges include birds, butterflies, or flowers?
Or is it too soon to ask?
Earth Day around here usually includes all of the above, either planting, pruning, or nature walks for watching.

Of course, this year, we have a winter storm watch for the next 48 hours, with predictions of anywhere from 4-12 inches of snow depending on where one lives across the state, so celebrating Earth Day in cards might be my only option. I do plan to participate.

If you haven't determined the challenges yet, may I suggest birds, butterflies, and/or flowers. :0)

It sounds fun. But I never know what I'll be doing since Doctors and company are about the only things that actually get scheduled around here. LOL

04-09-2013, 03:20 PM
I always play when I can. ;)

04-09-2013, 05:18 PM
I think this is the first athon since I joined this site that's happening in a weekend in which I'm not working or out of town... Definitely would like try and join in!

04-09-2013, 09:32 PM
Since it is earth day maybe we should also have a challenge where the cards have to contain something recycled/a recycled element. I know a lot of people already do this in their cards but it might be fun to draw attention to recycling. And I agree with Vicki, nature and birds are awesome challenge themes.

04-09-2013, 11:24 PM
pray at night and gabby169kitty that will be great if you two will help co-host the marathon. I have been working out what kind of challenges we will have. I like all the suggestions. I will try and keep everyone happy.

Kristin glad to see you will try to play some.

MissCarryMary glad you will have time to play.

Vicki and other poor Minnesotans...I came home last year from living in the south for 8 years and I credit the amazing early spring to my connection to Mother Nature...I prayed a lot....Apparantly we have to pay Her back.....I'm trying to kiss up to Her...but She's not listening! yet....I'm lurking on this a-thon...as I've never done one but the whole earth day and recycling theme is way hard to pass up!!

I am sitting here in the warm autumn sunshine wondering what all of you girls are complaining about - I LOVE Winter!!:P
My husband will not thank you for this new Athon - he has only just got the diningroom table back from the recent run of Athons. Now he loses it again! mwha-ha-hah (note to self - work on evil laugh)
I am definitely in!!

04-12-2013, 10:11 AM
I'll try to be really well prepared so that I can really get some stuff made on Thu and Fri. In my case getting prepared means mostly cleaning my table a bit so that I can start something new! And of course, get backgrounds and collage bits and pieces ready. The nature themed challenges sound really nice!

04-13-2013, 03:41 AM
I will try to play if I have time and I'm not too tired.

04-13-2013, 12:40 PM
Thanks for all the interest in the coming Marathon
Sanna, good to here you will try to play. When will you be moving and are you all packed?
I will post he Official Thread on Tuesday or Wednesday. Will keep you posted.

Well we really got dumped on yesterday. Been praying for moisture, but not this much snow. Must have 2 feet of the stuff. Every time there was snow in the forecast it always seemed to miss us, but not yesterday. At least it is nit 20 below and we know it will not last long as it is the 15th of April already. Seems to have good moisture too.

04-15-2013, 02:54 PM
Wow! 2 feet! I guess the needed moisture is the silver lining but that's a lot of snow to shovel in April.

04-15-2013, 04:42 PM
I heard about the storm on the news. Lots of shoveling, but the need melt water. How are you doing?

04-15-2013, 06:13 PM
We are doing ok. Being farmers we have equipment to move snow.

04-16-2013, 09:14 AM
People, please notice, when you decide to have an a-thon, remember to mention it also in this thread: http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4712

Then Carole can add it to the list and it is easy to check when the next a-thons are.

04-16-2013, 11:51 AM
I set up the official Earth Day thread, I have some challenges which are all optional. We should all be ready when it comes.
