Since a quality watercolor paper is very important and very expensive, I thought it would be helpful to set up a trading system for those of us to share some of our watercolor paper with each other!

So, post what you have here and what you want to trade for (or if you are interested in trying anything!). Individual traders can request specific sizes or trade for non-watercolor paper as well!.

I have:
Canson 124lb Rough watercolor paper; my current favorite. Very nice for watercolor and ink work, as the "rough" isn't very rough at all! Its really wonderful stuff!

Arches rough watercolor block (big, will cut down to size).

I would like to try: Anything and everything! PM me!

I have some Oriental Rice Paper which can be used for watercolour or ink. This is about 80gm in weight (about normal copier paper weight) and is the paper that is used in traditional Chinese brush painting. It has a smooth side and a rougher side. You work on the rougher side. It's not the edible kind of rice paper you get.

I would like to try some smooth watercolour stock of a good quality.

Since I know squat about this, I can only quote what's on the front of my pad! It's Bockingford .... An English mould made watercolour and sketching paper, which has a Cold Pressed (Not) surface. Bockingford has excellent colour lifting properties, is resistant to cockling when heavy washes are applied and is made to acid free archival standards. It's 140lb/300gsm.
10 x 7 inches.

maybe we should do a swap. Just for ATC watercolour blanks. Everybody send in 10 or 12 and get that many back. We'd have to all put the type of paper info on the back.

That is a fantastic idea. We could oragnize it so that nobody sent in the same stuff--so each person would sign up for a different type of paper they owned.

I've only got the paper I posted about. The other is a cheap 180gsm.

This sounds interesting, I have some 300gsm. Perhaps sending in 10 ATC size pieces with info on the back??

I am just starting out in painting etc...The only kind I have is; Strathmore watercolor cold press 140lb. paper...it has a nice texture to it and is fairly sturdy.
I'd love to get a sampling of other brands :)

This is a good idea. Is someone prepared to host it? If not I will. Not sure what category it will fall under, as I rather like the idea of each person sending in 10/12 and getting the same number back. DO we limit the number of people who join? If this counts as an official swop, I'm only allowed 12 anyway.
Thoughts?

I can host, but I don't want to start a new swap till after I am back from visiting the folks next week :). But Ibus, you are welcome to as well. Put it under misc. art trades or mail art trades.

You can put me down for the Arches stuff and the Canson Stuff, I have both and both are incredible.

Ok, it turns out I can't host, I haven't been here long enough.

I could host too, if you can't Dana. Are you sure Ibus? Your time at OS counts too.

I wasn't a member there, so it's just my time here.
