Pages from an old Buddhist scripture book.
They are in vertical writing.
The words are in brown & paper yellowed with age.
I have sets in 6 pages,I've made effort to remove them from the spine so they are not torn nor crumpled.
I am ready to trade for Fabric scraps, ummounted/old,rubber/polymer stamps, pattern papers, stamped images on cream or white cardstocks
or hand drawn/mixed media ATCs
themes I am keen on: mermaids, unicorns, dragons, polka dots, Kawaii, English roses, dogs, cats, goldfish, whales, octupus, toys, dolls, rabbits, flourishes, hedgehogs...
Pls pm if you are keen to trade. I've 20 sets.
In Chinese, horizontal writing is known as hengpai (Chinese: 橫排; pinyin: héngpái; literally "horizontal alignment"), while vertical writing is known as shupai (traditional Chinese: 竪排; simplified Chinese: 竖排; pinyin: shùpái; literally "vertical alignment"). In Japanese, horizontal writing is called yokogaki (横書き, "horizontal writing", also known as yokogumi, 横組み) and vertical writing is called tategaki (縦書き, "vertical writing", also known as tategumi, 縦組み). In Korean, horizontal writing is called garosseugi (가로쓰기) or hoengseo (횡서; 橫書), and vertical writing is called serosseugi (세로쓰기) or jongseo (종서; 縱書).
Traditionally, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean are written vertically in columns going from top to bottom and ordered from right to left, with each new column starting to the left of the preceding one. The stroke order and stroke direction of Chinese characters (hanzi in Chinese, kanji in Japanese, hanja in Korean), Japanese kana, and Korean Hangul are all designed to facilitate writing in this manner. In addition, writing in vertical columns from right to left facilitated writing with a brush in the right hand while continually unrolling the sheet of paper or scroll with the left. In modern times, it has become increasingly common for these languages to be written horizontally, from left to right, with successive rows going from top to bottom, under the influence of European languages such as English.

As I am Buddhist I would dearly love some of the text not for making cards with but simply to keep. Do you still have some pages available? I have lots of fabric in the themes mentioned. When you say you want "pattern paper" do you mean paper that has patterns on it or the light tissue-like paper used in sewing? Also, if you have more than 1 set of Buddhist text pages left I'd be willing to trade for 2 sets. Thank you.

I got your PM. I have been crazy with tons of stuff this week. I don't really have fabrics in your themes to trade with. It has been years since I have sewn any baby/kid stuff...I gave most all of that type of fabric away already.
I do have this "kit" for a small rabbit purse. I made one for my daughter, and she wanted another one made for her best friend, but I did not get this one finished. I hand painted the face, and long ears are what tie together to make the straps. Little bow ribbons are tied onto the base of the ears on each side. I no longer have the instructions, but it is a simple lined purse with a zipper, and interfacing. Everything is cut exact. If you make purses, then I am sure you can figure this one out. Everthing is there to make it with, including the ribbon and zippers. It looks like I even cut out fabric to make a change purse with, though the zipper is not there for that.
Sorry for this longwinded reply. I don't know how to add images to the PMs, so I had to post here.

Jaye -
I've looked through all of my boxes of fabric and don't think you'd like what I have. But I have lots of patterned paper to trade for the Chinese text pages so I'll need your address. Are you still up for the 3/3 ATC trade too?

Ooops. I forgot to post, but your goodie package went out last Friday. I sent out the items from our original agreement trade, and also the little purse kit. I have photos of the finished purse. I will PM them when I upload them into the computer.
