Will there be another ATART-a-thon in between christmas and new years day again, just like we had a couple of years ago (or maybe also last year but I wasn't around at that time really)?!

I am so swamped with work that I keep missing out on recent a-thons (and that isn't really going to change any time soon) but I am actually free from most everything around the holidays and would LOVE to have another ATART to look forward to?! :D :wubclub:

Donnacr hosted it last year. I think she is attending her father's funeral right now but after she gets back we can ask her.

that sounds great-there is always kind of a let down after the hubbub of the holidays. I will look for it

I'm sure there will be one!!!

:notworthy::jiggy::cute:

I'd offer to co-host if it wasn't for the fact I know changes are that something will come up last minute knowing my murphy's law and luck at the moment... so I'll just have to wait till someone else does hehe

I would offer to co=host, too, except I think you have to have hosted some swaps before you can do a biggie like this. I know I wanted to do a moley RR and they said I wasnt qualified yet 'cause I've never been a hostess

stay tuned

I have hosted one of them some years ago and it was fun! Sure we will have it again. Someone will host it anyway :).

Donnacr

Of course I am hosting another post-Christmas/New Year ATART!!! It will run from Friday Dec 27 (starting 1 minute after midnight of Dec 26th) and running till 11.59pm on Sunday Jan 5th
I will need some co-hosts for the Wednesday and Thursday of that last week as I will be in the process of returning from Australia to Indonesia at that time.

Big toe studio - hosting an ATART is nothing like hosting a swap. Your main jobs in an ATART are: to keep the chatter going, 'ooooh' and 'aaaaah' at all the gorgeous offerings being shown on the thread and occasionally make a few cards yourself. If you feel that you can do this satisfactorily I would welcome you as co-Host. (I will, of course, confirm this closer to the time - all of us get busy at that time of year)

I will be offering themes for each day just like last time - entirely optional but something to start the Muse thinking. Any suggestions will be gratefully accepted and probably included in my list.

craftyvox - thanks for starting this thread. I will leave it for ideas and start the official thread a day or 2 before the ATART starts.

Yes, a full week ATART :). Be sure you don't have other things for that week...

so sorrry, this is not a good week for me. My son and granddaughters are over for the
holidays and staying with us. My room will be occupied, and all my stuff tucked away safely, as the youngest will sleep in this room. Will try to get a peep if possible.

Donna, so sad to hear of the passing of you father...
are you back in Indonesia or still in Aussie...

Donnacr
10-17-2013, 11:34 PM
Only had 9 days in Aussie - just not enough time to catch up with all my family (both children and siblings) and friends. We were very lucky in that my husband was already scheduled to be in Melbourne that week for a conference so we already had tickets, etc.

My Muse went on an extended holiday but she is coming back for occasional visits so I should be fine by the next Athon.:)

craftyvox

Yay is it December already?! Sooo looking forward to this ATART, it's perfectly timed for me, as I'll finally have a short break myself. I should be fine to co-host on one or two days as well Donna? To cover for EU participants, as I *will* likely be in bed when those on the US west coast are still die hard crafting heh.

Don't forget that the next scheduled Athon is the Halloween ATART running from Wednesday Oct 30 to Sunday Nov 3. Start preparing those ghosts and ghouls and all your scary backgrounds now - only just over a week before it starts.

can you believe only 6 weeks 'till our own athon?.. We will be through all the craziness of thanksgiving and Christmas. It will be a wonderful breathing space. Can't wait

Sadly I will have to be a Non-particpant in this one, I will be madly packing and making sure I have everythign I need for my trip to Brisbane for the birth of my duaghters 3rd baby. She can't do without her mamma, although she did fine for the first one who came early.

BUT- that does not mean that I will not be lurking (like a professional) and helping the bartender deliver drinks!!!

Donnacr, I'd love to join this Athon, and if you're still looking for co-hosts, I'd be happy and honoured to help out.

Donnacr
11-11-2013, 04:24 AM
Thanks to all those who have offered to co-host - we seem to have all areas of the world covered with Hosts now!

What we don't have is someone in charge of drinks. . . for those who played in the Halloween ATART you will know that MariaP has set a very high bar for anyone else to work at.:notworthy:

I normally supply a few tubs of punch each day (which seems to end up being spiked no matter HOW closely I watch it :err:) but I guess our Northern Hemisphere players will need something to warm them up. I've never tried to make a hot toddy and I have always been intrigued when I have read about people heating the drink by sticking the fire poker in it. Does that really happen?

Mouseit
11-11-2013, 05:14 AM

Donnacr

Oh no!!!!! Maria's rubber arm just twisted right off :swoon:

mouseit - help me stick it back on. . . :goofy: not that way! oh, I hope it still works :skeptical:

I need a drink. . (wipes brow)

I have gotten 2 returns from Mrubyjean & Jewels. They are gorgeous.

Maybe more in the mail today. We are having lots of snow, no going out probably for 2 days. I think I'll work on some backgrounds and maybe sign onto a swap or two.

Anyone else in the snow? When I go walk out for the mail later, I think I'll take a picture and post it.

PS-This message was for the Xmas Athon' My mistake.

I'd love to see a snow pic. I havent seen snow since 2010 when we moved out here to ariz. love to SEE it, but glad to not be driving in it anymore.
doing some bkgnds ahead is a very good idea, but I just started my Sketchbook Project book and have 32 pages of drawings before Jan. 15th. Soooo, probably no prepped cards for me

Sanna: glad you can join us for part of the fun

Yes, it is lightly but steadily snowing here. Since I don't have to go out in it just now, it is beautiful...and the kind of snow I missed living in Seattle.

Need to get some swap cards done first, but I hope to be playing!

I'll be spending that week at our cottage in the country, so I won't be able to take a lot with me nor use a scanner, but I'd really like to make some cards anyway. I think I'll pack a small amount of supplies and my camera so I can upload some pics with my laptop! It would be so much fun to share some art with you all again.

I have just submitted the Official thread so it should be visible by this afternoon (it is mid-morning for me at the moment :))
There is still room for some more theme suggestions - all are welcome as you never know what will stimulate your Muse.

CAN'T wait till it all starts (I do have a few of my stitched cards completed - looking very cute and ALL Christmas themed).
