Spent the past two days in the hospital, so the ones I did last week are still sitting on the table. I feel fine now. I'll get them out.

Hope everything is ok.

If you need a break from us let me know and I can move you to homers only till you get back on your feet.

Here is a starter being sent to Nancy, it is mildy blurry. I was in a swap in another group where we needed to use bubble wrap to paint the back ground. I used large bubble wrap and small. If you look close you can see the large and small bubble wrap areas\

Thanks for the kind comment about my bird starter, I am finding that the bird stamp I bought is a great stamp. Here is another link where I used the stamp on an old chinese (or could be japanese) book page.

https://www.flickr.com/photos/38366050@N07/15452173926/

I will be playing with that stamp more.

Sarnie
10-20-2014, 06:51 AM
That is a really great stamp - it works with Vintage and Oriental, probably because it looks naturalistic and hand drawn.
I seem to have lots of bird rubber stamps but they all seem to be on the whimsical side.

Super sets arrived from Karin (Sarah's Mom) from Germany this morning, along with a card we traded in the Down Under Athon !
Are we all going to take part in the 2014 Halloween A-Thon ?
I must admit I am a trifle Halloweened out right now - having taken part in 5 Halloween Swaps - I will have to gather some more images if I take part !

... So I have finally got my hands on some of CastleQueen's honey comb impressed card - they already feature a bee so I am going to have to put my thinking cap on ! Actually I am thinking honey.

Hey X how do you xstitch for cards?

I find whatever it is I want to add to the card and once I have it stitched i finish the back with heat n bond so they don't fray. Most of the time I use the other glue side of the heat and bond to attach it to the card. If I am worried about adding heat to the card I will glue what I made to it.

I can add to both hand drawn/painted or collage cards so if you want to send me something I will be happy to do my part and send it on.

Hint Hint............A barn or part of a barn in a background setting so I could add something in front of it would be fun and play on both of ours love of barns...............;) And there may be a barn starter from me in your future!

New additions:
Barns I promised Xstitcher which I really had fun doing because I found ATC cards with a wood looking background. I hand drew it and then I made some other random starters.

My house caught on fire and burned last week and the Insurance Co. has declared it a total loss. My art room only had minimal damage so I think I can salvage most of my supplies, So God is good!! I am OK and so blessed to have a wonderful daughter to stay with and help me with the sadness and the overwhelming details of relocating. I found a little house today that I am going to make an offer on in the AM. I need to go on homers for a while to shop for furniture , etc.... I have received several sets this week that I will somehow finish and any others that come in will be forwarded to another in the group. I will notify you when I have a new mailing address and I will come on line occasionally to
check messages...Thanks for your understanding and patience while I am floundering!!

That being said, I'm certain it is still difficult and devastating but you seem like a strong woman! Ladies,
I hope no one feels personally attacked or hurt, but there's something on my mind and it's bothering me, so I want to get it out here. Hope that's okay! :duck:

Lately the laid-back, easy, random character of this group has kind of evaporated in my eyes, and I don't like it.
The way I understand it, we send sets to other active players at random, as long as they don't contain any of the player's dislikes.
But lately people seem to post every single step of the cards and then others "claim" them... For me, personally, that takes the fun out of it because the best thing about the CRRRs is the fact that I get surprise mail with surprise sets! ;)

Also, we all agreed that there are no deadlines, that we can keep sets that we want to work on but can't at the moment, and that we can pass on sets without notice if we don't feel inspired to work on them, right?
I feel like these last few weeks there's been an "OMG, where is this set of mine" craze going on - might be just my perception, but since it bothers me, I wanted to remind everyone of this: There are no deadlines, and there's no obligation to post to the thread when you receive a letter. I always do it, but others hardly ever follow the thread and don't do it.

So please, everyone, be a bit more laid-back for my heart's sake? :wubclub:
I have sent out starters that simply disappeared. And I have kept sets for month. It happens. Asking about the set every week doesn't help there. ;)

Again, I hope nobody feels personally attacked, that's not my intention. I simply would like the atmosphere from before back, with no stress.

If anything sounds attack-y, it's because I'm not a native speaker - it took me ages to phrase this, but it might still sound off somewhere. Just imagine my "thinking of the good old times" face with the text and you'll see that I don't feel aggressive. ;)

ferretgirl
10-25-2014, 09:22 AM
I agree, whole-heartedly, Prayer At Night. Everyone likes getting sets or they wouldn't be in this group. I am so glad that you brought this up.

Sarnie
10-25-2014, 09:33 AM
No problem Sarah - point taken and accepted !

I have had lots of starter sets disappear into the ether -no problem, sometimes they just reappear like magic !
I have also sent sets on that I felt were not for me and kept other sets for a long time when I was 'thinking' about what to do with them !

I was guilty of asking about the lobster card - this was because someone posted a pic of it completed which made me very over excited and then it never arrived back to me for a long time ! I won't do it again.
I love the randomness of when cards suddenly come back and the variety of styles and subjects we cover.

Allegrae
10-25-2014, 09:51 AM
Sarah, you said it beautifully! With swaps in the works, it can be hard to work on cards immediately. And the randomness is half the fun!

Sarnie
10-25-2014, 09:52 AM
CastleQ5 - I have two sets of homers for you - both honeycomb related.

Both second players are in Germany, as the cards in the sets are fairly similar will it be sensible to send you one of each and the other two to Germany ?
This will prevent them crossing the Atlantic twice more.
This unfortunately is not a cost saving - all International mail is charged the same from the UK (whether the letter is going to Germany or New Zealand !) The only person who costs me less to post to is Katelnorth who is also in the UK !
First class post within the UK cost 62 pence - which is exactly 1 US$
Second class post (which takes 4 days or so if you are unlucky) costs 53 pence.
Bet you are all glad you enjoy US postal rates!

Prayer I can stop posting the starters if it makes you happy. I didn't realize I was offending anyone. I was proud of the sets I made and wanted to share. No offense taken. I just didn't realize there was a "rule" that you couldn't post a set when you started it.

These little round robin groups are what kinda keeps me going. I live by myself and have PTSD. I would go crazy without the art and being able to "talk" to people across the boards ATC for all has. I am in an HD / HR group also, and we always post the starters and I figured it was the same for all round robins. I'm really sorry. I didn't want to take the joy out of the group for anyone.

As far as people wondering where their cards are, yeah that gets me a little too, but as my dad always said before he passed: "it is what it is." I figure when I see it again, I'll be really happy. I write the date and whom I send my cards to. If it gets to be a year or months and the person went on homers that I sent it to, I might pm them, but that's never happened lol. I remember holding cards for a month when I was in school.

My mom's favourite saying when I was growing up was "don't sweat the small stuff." I mean, I guess it is however people want to take the group and have fun but to me its "small stuff." If people want to know where their cards are, maybe that makes them happy, and we should just flow with it.

Just my 2, well maybe 5 or 6 cents :) Everyone be happy and enjoy art!

Not true, Sarnie - European post is cheaper than US, which is "rest of world" - European is 97p up to 20g and £1.47 for up to 60g, as opposed to the US/Australia/ROW which is 1.28/2.15. If you've been paying more, don't!!

MACE, I don't think any of us mind seeing what people are working on, in principle, but I know what Sarah means - it does seem lately to be a bit more high energy and frantic here, rather than laid back, with a lot of people asking for cards and talking about updates, and... I think we are all just a little keen at the moment, perhaps. :) I am so busy that I haven't been reading all the messages, so it hasn't bothered me as much as Sarah, but I get where she's coming from.

I tend not to post photos of my starters because I like to choose where to send them. I do sometimes take note of people who say "help, I need something to work on" but sometimes I just send out randomly - in keeping with the name of the group and all, lol.

I do tend to say when I've received something because I know people worry about sending things internationally, but I don't really worry about if I keep things for a few weeks until I have time to work on them.

I like to share what I've done - sometimes - so I will sometimes post pictures of finished cards. But not always, because there's also a lot of fun in seeing something show up in the mail and have it be a complete surprise.

If I made some starters which were really quirky or bizarre I might ask if anyone wanted them - or I might just take a chance. Really depends on my mood.

I pay $1.15 USA stamps to mail internationally. Not sure what the 1.28/2.15 is referring to. How much is a pence?
I don't mind mailing to international players as long as they don't mind receiving :)

You are all so gracious when dealing with a problem- not even a problem, more of a shift. I just LOVE that!

The HD/HP RR group was started with the "ask who wants it/ ask where it is" built in- not as a rule, just what the leader started us off with. Since there are several of us playing in both groups I'm sure we've just mixed that in here.

It's a very good reminder to us to remember that one of the "R"'s in CRRR is "Random" and that no pressure is what makes it fun and relaxing and you put it very gently and very well Sarah. Thank you for being brave! :)

MACE, all my numbers are in pounds. One pence is our equivalent of a US penny* - i.e. there are 100 of them in a pound, and at the moment, our pound is worth about $1.60. Which means that although you pay $1.15 to mail to me, if I mail to you, I have to pay
(the equivalent of) $2.04 (£1.28) to mail back to you. Unless, of course, whatever I am mailing weighs more than 20g, in which case I would have to pay even more - our next rate up for mailing to the US/Canada/Australia/New Zealand, etc is £2.15, which is $3.44. Make sense?

What I was saying to Sarnie is that she was wrong in thinking that it cost the same to mail to Sarah & Karin in Germany as it did to mail to all our US and Canadian players - it actually costs less, as there is a separate rate for mail going to other parts of Europe. If the item weighs under 20g, it costs 97p (pence), which is about the equivalent of $1.50), so it's not as cheap as if she mailed to me, in the same country (which costs about $1), but it's cheaper than mailing to somewhere outside the UK which isn't in Europe.

And there you go - FAR more than you wanted to know about our prices for mail in the UK - but it does help you to see why European hostesses always ask for more postage than US ones do!

If you really want to see a price difference, I'll tell you about how much petrol (gasoline) costs over here. :)

Kate

*another bit of trivia - ever wonder why the 1c coin in the US is called a penny? It's because of the English heritage - we call our little 1 pence coin a penny (which nickname is fairly obvious) and the early US settlers adpoted this use, even after the money itself changed to be called something else, after independence.

While I am feeling talkative, I thought I'd throw this out there...

I know I've started or been 2nd player on a number of RRs which I've never seen back again, and that's not a problem - this isn't a whinge or a moan - we all have our good times and bad for art, and that's the way it goes. I'm a firm believer in the fact that it is what it is and not sweating the small stuff and though it would be great to have back everything I've ever worked on, I'm not stressing it and it won't make me judge you a bad person....

That said, I thought I'd make this offer. If anyone out there reading has a pile of RR stuff which has been hanging around, even if it's really old, making them feel guilty, and they don't have the mental energy to either work on it or even work out who to send it along to please feel free to just parcel up the whole pile and send it along to me altogether - I'll even reimburse the postage for you by paypal, if that's a problem for you. I'm happy to sort through it, keep a couple to work on, send stuff to other active players, whatever. I know we all have times when it's all just a bit much, so I thought I'd make that offer, just in case anyone out there feels that way. Probably people who are feeling really snowed under by stuff have given up reading the forum, but you never know :)

xx Kate

Well I dunno that there's a "supposed to be" but think about it - it's a one cent coin - how does that generate the nickname "penny"?

katelnorth
10-25-2014, 01:56 PM
Here's a quote from the entry for penny (US) in Wikipedia: "The U.S. Mint's official name for a penny is "cent"[2] and the U.S. Treasury's official name is "one cent piece".[3] The colloquial term penny derives from the British coin of the same name, the pre-decimal version of which had a similar value. In American English, pennies is the plural form. (The plural forms pence and pee—standard in British English—are not used in American English.)"

edited to say, the name of the coin as a "cent" obviously comes from the Latin (?) prefix for 1/100th - like centimeter, for example - a cent is one hundredth of a dollar...

I always wonder where my starters are, lol. I'm very ocd about art, I try to write down everything lol. I also like to post cards I have finished, I think it's awesome to see the finished cards :-) I don't post my starters, but I do think it's okay if someone posts a, starter set that you like, for you to voice interest in it. Where the person send that starter though is and should be entirely up to them. This being said, I do not feel attacked at all by your post, Sarah. Hugs to all!

First let me say, with me being the "newest" one to the group...i certainly didn't want to step on any ones toes! So, i do apologize for anything that i might have said or done that would cause grief. :)

Secondly, i was just so darn excited that i finally figured out ( with the help from Vampiress_rose) how to pictures up, i got kind of carried away i guess! :D

I love this group! And i do not want to do anything that would make it "unfun" for anyone else!

Now with all that said, on to the postage thing...i have decided for myself, that since there is not a "due date" on these in this group...those that will being going to Europe, will be mailed around the second Wednesday of each month (i am disabled and don't work and fiance' is on Soc. Sec.) i usually try an buy postage stamps also at this time. So US traders will be fine as far as getting them back faster and so forth.

For me, i have decided that choosing which subjects or groups that i would enjoy the most would be "best for me" i choose a few swaps a month now, and i prefer at the time, to swap in the MMH, PIF's, etc... threads the most. That may change, but this is one of my Favorite. :) This also helps keep the cost of postage down...

Thank you ladies for allowing me to join and thank you Sarah, for bringing to the fore what is most important about this group. Sometimes we just need reminders... :notworthy: <- ( i always wanted to use that one! lol)

Boy! I was really talkative there! :chatterbox:

Thanks for bringing this up prayer_at_night. You did a great job of getting the group "talking". it is a wonderful job of expressing your thoughts. I would never have guessed English was not what you used all the time.

And thank you to everyone else who had commented. I can’t imagine anyone would be offended by anything I have seen so far. I think we are all friends here and as long as we are respectful no one should be upset. If there ever were to be hurt feelings it needs to be taken up in private with the person in question and/or me if you like.

After reading prayers post I wonder if I am not getting cards to work on because I am not asking for them. I never do because I like the element of surprise so I don’t want to ask and know what is coming my way………….except the set MACE and I talked about and that was because I brought our personal pms about our mutual love of barns to the public board and shamelessly asked her to send me a set. :biglaugh:

Either that or because I am afraid I am one that keeps the cards for a long time. I tend to stitch several then pull out the equipment to finish them up. I have 2 starters and 7 from others ready to put together, just trying to find the time now.

I gave up worrying about where my cards were or when they will be back a long time ago. Now I stitch them, finish them, kiss them goodbye and forget about them until they return to me transformed into something usually totally different than what I thought they would look like. I love to see the different directions all the cards I work on take. I am tempted to send the same set of starters out to several players and see what they turn into.

How about we say this………..

Let’s keep doing most of the things we are doing,
sending cards ramdomly (is that really a word?) to whoever we want as long as it fits the criteria (active and not a dislike) ,
taking as long as we need to work on them,
posting anything from a starter to a completed card,
commenting on all the fun and wonderful eye candy being posted,
having random conversations just because we can,
giving iTraders to each other,
posting when we have received cards to work on,
posting when we have sent cards out to others without saying to who unless you want to,
and posting anything else we have been posting that I have forgotten about.

And let’s stop asking for specific cards on the board. How about this idea, if you really want a card you see maybe asking for it in a pm would be a better way to do things. Please keep in mind though, just because you ask for it does not mean you are going to get it.

If you really need to ask about a card that has been missing for awhile, maybe you can pm the player you sent it to and tactfully ask about it.

Again I want to thank everyone for the comments. I love coming on line and having to go back several pages to catch up.

Also thanks for the educations on postal costs and origin of coin names. I for one will never complain about the cost of postage in the US again although I may still complain about our bad service.

And one last thing that has absolutely nothing to do with the ongoing conversation but I was going to post it after reading my pms…………

LauraM540 has asked to be moved to homers with the next update, seems her mojo has disappeared so if anyone knows of its where abouts please let her know. I want to throw it out here there will be an update in the next few days so if you want anything changed please let me know.

Very well said Xstitcher, I think that about sums everything up... The only thing I noticed you might have missed is "you rock's" ... I love giving you rock's to people who post great things, and if you've ever played in an atart you know us athon gals go crazy with the rep points too, lol! I think we all should feel free to hand those out as generously as we feel! ;)

I was actually thinking the same thing, about messaging the person if you see a card you really want to work on! ;)

I sometimes sit on cards for a long time... It's not that I don't have the time to complete them, I love working on them and they are usually done within a day or two of when I receive them, but my issue is postage... I have to depend on the kindness of others who may send a stamp or two with trades out of the goodness of their hearts to cover my postage needs (I don't work and am in the process of getting disability, oh I so hope I do...I need it) So sometimes it's more beneficial to me to hold the cards for awhile, so I can send two or three sets at once, or
I have to wait until I get a bit of postage to mail everything... That's one thing I really like about not having any deadlines too - Y'all don't get upset at me for not being able to mail right away! :)

I receive a good amount of starters, wish I could afford to send more out.

Thank you, x-stitcher, for your brilliant mediation. Very, very well said.
There is nothing to add for me but few very personal explanatory notes:

The first thing is that I, just like Pixi ( and certainly many others), love CRRR a lot.
I enjoy being with you, ladies. I enjoy receiving sets to work on. I enjoy receiving homers. I enjoy reading that any card has arrived anywhere and made someone of you happy. I enjoy seeing pictures of cards or sets. All that is fine for me! And I can totally understand - as people are different- that some of you are a little anxious for the return of their cards. ;)

I am not. So, only speaking for myself:
If you get one of my starter sets, take your time. If you don't like it, send it along. If you have no clue, wait...- still no clue, send it along. No problem. I don't have a list. :twitcy:

This is a hobby for me, a way to feel happy - not more and not less.;)

katelnorth

xstitcher - I don't send stuff to you very often, but it's mostly because as a cross-stitcher myself, I know how long it takes to do even small motifs, so I assume you don't want to be inundated. :) But I haven't sent you one in a while, so perhaps I will do so, soon.

I do like the fact that I can work in "fits and starts" with this group - accumulate cards for a few weeks and then do a big batch when I have time. I do try to work on things in the order I receive them, though once in a while, one will stump me and demand greater thinking time, or one will be so obvious what it wants that I handle it straight away.

I worked on two sets today (I think my stack had reached 10 or so - though a few of those arrived only within the last day or two) and there will be lots more this week, as well as some starters (and some cards for swaps due at the end of November). I may post photos; I may not - we'll see! :)

p.s. If you think postage costs are a lot higher here than the US, are you sure you don't want me to tell you about the cost of petrol? LOL.

Hello everyone, it has been quite some time since I updated everyone or did any art for that matter, so I figured it was time to let people know where I went. My husband and I found out some time ago that we are expecting our first child together(A GIRL!). Soon after, he deployed for a very long 3 month period. While he was away, I spent my time with my family back in Texas away from my home and pets. This was a very hard time for me. I came back to Washington the first of this month to welcome my husband home and spend some well-needed family time with him. Now, we are turning my art room into our nursery which is a very time consuming process(you all may benefit from checking in the supply trade threads from my stuff here pretty soon). I just wanted to take a minute to let those of you who had sent me some round robbins that they are, in fact, still here. I feel like I should have just sent them on, but they were so inspiring. I feel bad that they have sat for so long. But, on the bright side, with me not working and being unable to lift things for the nursery during the day, I'll have some time on my hands, and I will be completing those and sending them on. I will include a list here of the ones I have and if anyone has record of sending me something else that is not on this list, PLEASE let me know so I will be sure to look for them. They will for sure be found if I know what I'm looking for. Also, I am almost positive that I owe people Itrader. I know that the bunch here is very honest, so if you know that I owe you any points, please PM me with what the project was and I will get that added to you. Thank you all so much for understanding!

Again, if there are any other cards that I owe, please do not hesitate to PM me. These will be sent on soon. And to clarify, I do not need to be added back onto the active list. I need to get these done and a few other things in order first. But I hope to be back very soon. Thanks everyone.

Okay then, CastleQueen. I will let you know if I do happen upon them, though.

In other news, I have 2 cards that are from complete sets and I need to know if I gave iTrader for them, so I will ask that these players please do the dirty work for me. :)

The first, with a blue/green background and a window. The words read Heart on a string. Started by lafaver55, worked on by myself and kentuckydakota. This is by far my favorite card I've ever been a part of. :)

The second, a green background with some birds and a seed packet image with clock tape. Started by Tandy, worked on by myself and mrubyjean. Also turned out nicely.

I do know how hard it is to go back through your iTrader to look for something that's not there, but these are 2 I have that are not in my album which generally means no iTrader, but who knows what I did. Thanks for being such great help ahead of time. :)

One other tip is that when you look at the persons itrader your left itrader shows up BLUE, and with a link.

On another note, I finished a set from Pixie, sent starter to Sarah's Mom and CastleQueen.

xstitcher
10-30-2014, 01:04 AM
There is no rule they all have to be the same that I know of.

To my way of thinking if 3 people are going to work on a card together and each keep one they should be the same. That is all I want to work on so I have that by my name, but I think there are some players who make them different keeping them the same theme though.

2 the same and 1 different seems different but I guess to each his own!

Someone, not sure if it was csigeek124 or not, pm'd me a few weeks ago asking to join but not giving me any information, not even their name and address. I replied with what I needed and never heard from them again. Kept the pm until I cleaned out my mailbox a week or so ago and I must have gotten rid of it. Sorry I don't remember who it was. Have her pm again with all the information and I will get her added. I am sending out an update in the next few days so if she could get it to me soon I would appreciate it.

Oh! I didn't know about the "three cards being exactly the same" thingy...i know i sent one set out, but i was like the second one on it i think. I added two things the same and one a little different on the other, but they were the same theme...is that okay?

Sorry about that to whomever they belonged to! :)

Sarnie
10-30-2014, 03:24 AM
Pixi I think they don't have to be identical - for example postage stamps used can be from same set but slightly different. Text used can be in same style and placed in a similar way but say different things and so on !
Some sets turn out to be three identical cards but most have slight variations.

These two sets were started by MACE...the collage set was also worked on by Angelmuz and the zentangles were also worked on by Robin. I LOVED having a zentangle round robin and am thinking of starting some zentangle sets of my own.

The collage set is a good example of cards that are similar but not the same.

I have been the third player a lot over the last few days - I am dishing out iTraders like they are going out of style !
I try to do so as I finish them so I don't forget.

Sarah, 'prayer at night' I still owe you one iTrader, the system will only allow me to give you one per hour - will do so later !

If the cards are more or less identical I am using common sense and sending them to the first and second players individually if they are separated by the Atlantic Ocean - otherwise they would be making that journey twice more.

I think your list of don't wants shouldn't be a problem - not much profanity goes on here. What do you mean by non-Christian religious themes though ?
Does that mean you wouldn't want Egyptian,Greek or Roman Statues of gods, Native American or Aboriginal art forms, Buddhas or African Tribal Art for example ?
Not that I have seen much of that here in CRRR but these themes often pop up in the main forum.
The only thing that might pop up here is halloween - not that anyone has followed that theme this year (as far as I know) but if you say you don't want Halloween cards you shouldn't get any.

I am sitting here getting ready to give iTraders for several homers and a thought crossed my mind………..

Anyone who has been in the group very long knows how I worry about everything so I am surprised I have not thought about this before now.

I wonder if you as a player would rather get the iTrader before or after you receive the completed card.

I usually try and say something about the card in the additional comments spot which kind of ruins the surprise.

So I thought for another topic of conversation I would throw this out there and we can talk about it.

For now I am going to wait a few days to give them on what I just sent out which means I need to get off here and go do some Saturday house cleaning.

I finished three sets today:

- The script set was started by Katiea707, embellished by katelnorth and I added the
antiquated texts.
- The autumn set background is from Sarnie, was made even nicer by Pixi. I glued real
leafs on and sealed them with varnish.
- The numbers set was a challenge for me. It was startet by Sarnie and worked on by
CastleQueen5. I decided totake the numbers as date specification and added the
respective US President.

Nice work on those cards I sent along, Karin! And I'm looking forward to seeing the funky shoes when tandy gets done with them.

Mary Ann - my thoughts on iTrader - I don't think it matters too much if you iTrade (is that a verb?) before I've had the finished card. Sometimes I do get comments like "loved working on the elephant card" and I think "elephant? what elephant? I didn't work on an elephant..." but it doesn't matter - when the card comes in I see it and go "Oh right, I never would have thought to add an elephant to that. Looks great" Or whatever. For myself, I always do the iTraders once I've finished adding to them (if I'm the third player) - otherwise it just gets too likely I'll misplace the cards or think I've done it, or whatever. I have a little stack next to my computer of ones which are waiting and this usually works. But why risk it! If I'm the 1st or 2nd player, obviously I wait until I get the finished card back...

V-rose, this is quite challenging to translate but I'll try:
( I took different parts from poetry by Matthias Claudius )

1) Es ist nur einer ewig und an allen Enden, und wir in seinen Händen.
There is only one who is eternal and everywhere and we are in his hands.

2) Wenn alles wüst und bleich, gehn über Not und Glück wir in das Himmelreich.
When everything is devasteted and pale through misery and fortune we will reach
the kingdom of heaven.

3) Wohl übers dunkle Land zieht einen Regenbogen barmherzig Gottes Hand.
Above the dark land there is a rainbow painted by the hands of God.

I think it is ok to do it every once in a while, heck I did it myself not long ago because I thought some one had asked for a specific card.

In your case with the reason you gave I think it is fine.

Every once won't matter, I think the problem was it got out of hand with someone posting cards and others jumping in to say I want it every time a new set was posted.

Someone suggested and I agreed that took the randomness out of trading.

Snow tires being put on Wednesday weather permitting. We have over 5 inches already and its still snowing so I'm not trudging to the mailbox at the front of the mobile home park.

I just looked and Wednesday's forcast reads mostly sunny with a high of 12 degrees. How are those two even possible together? LOL

Hi StoneFX, those are some interesting cards, and if you don't have any other takers, I would like to see what I can come up with to add to their interestingness!!! She is reminding me of the new sheriff in town!!

Great - they're yours! Looking forward to your additions~

Good morning ladies and Happy Veterans Day. I don't post much here or anywhere for that matter. I do want to say that I have a stack going out tomorrow. I forgot PO was closed today for VD. I work on some everyday before going to bed, at least I look at them and think about what to do. This is the greatest stress reducer that I have found. I have some Christmas starters ready to go so those of you who have holidays by their names look for them. I have gotten quite a few of the Halloween ones back and every one is so very different. I started a three ring binder for holiday cards. Thanks all of you ladies for sending me RR. I have several Itrader to do this week so I will work on getting those done. Have a great day.

Need help, ladies. I am not in this trade, but yesterday I received three Round Robin cards with no instructions at all. They were the first base part I thinK, and are from a Lynnda Cook, Lancaster, PA. No email, no phone number and no place to send the second tier too. I tried White Pages but that was a disaster, you cannot get a phone number any more.
Any help with this, I don't know what to do. Guess I will send her a letter and ask for directions. Anybody know LYNNDA COOK?

Julia, I have her info--and I'm in a similar situation with her. Wasn't sure how to proceed, either. I know how she got my address, but I'm not in any of her RR groups. Have been holding onto her starters.

Hi everyone! I have 2 sets that I can report are ready to be homers and thirds. The homers were started by Sarah's Mom, and then worked on by mrubyjean, and then finished off by me. They are the ones with the ladies. (I added the ladies after MUCH trying out of other things that didn't work) The butterfly set was started by Alornjr, then the butterflies added by me. Hope you likeskee............. BTW, not sure if this is against the rules, but if there is anyone who just CANNOT live without the butterfly ones let me know and I will get them to you..............

I love cards with butterflies. I specifically collect butterfly atcs.

I also love cards with cats, postage stamps, coffee, tea, sunflowers (DUH!)

Birds is another I kinda like.

And I collect John Cusack cards, but I dont see those working so much for a round robin.
