If you think 3 heads are better than one when it comes to making ATCs this is the place for you.

We are a fun group of ATC makers who like to spread the making of ATCs around to more than one person.

Here is how to get started……………..

First you sign up in the thread and tell us what themes you do not want so I can add your name to the list in the 1st post.

Next you PM your mailing address and any dislikes to me so I can add it to the address list. I will update this list as players come and go or change their status.

If you wish to take a break from playing at any time all you need to do is post in the thread and send me a pm. I will move you to the HOMERS ONLY section of the address list until you ask me to change it. This way you will still get any you have started that have been completed by others but you should not get any new ones. If you do get new ones, please let me know in a pm.

And here is how a Round Robin works…………

Player 1 starts it off by starting 3 cards. These cards need to be more than a preprinted background. Please put something on them. On the back please put ATCS FOR ALL RANDOM ROUND ROBIN or AFA RANDOM RR at the top (so we know where it came from as there are 2 round robin groups) along with at least your user name. Mail all 3 cards to Player 2.

Player 2 will work on the cards. Add at least your user name to the back. Mail all 3 cards to Player 3.

Player 3 will finish the cards. Add at least your user name to the back. Keep 1 card and mail the other 2 back to Player 1.

Player 1 will keep 1 card and mail the other one to Player 2.

VERY IMPORTANT ~ Please remember to look at the most current list before sending cards to anyone to make sure they are still playing.

EQUALLY IMPORTANT ~ Please check what cards a player DOES NOT WANT. Do not send unwanted themes to anyone as they must pay to send them on to someone else .

If you get a set of cards and you have no idea what to do with them, just send them on to someone else.

Feel free to post eye candy whenever you want. Part of the fun of being in a Round Robin is seeing who is doing what. You can post them when you get them before you add anything, after you have added something or when you get a completed set. If you don't have a scanner or are not sure how to post them it is ok. Posting is not a requirement to join and have fun. There are no Round Robin Police sent to visit if you don't!

And you never have to say who you are sending to unless you want to.

And last but not least…………

iTraders: They are fun to give and fun to get so please remember them. Once you have a completed card you can give them to both the other players. When giving them you are the trader.

Another update has been sent.

Welcomed Sarnie.

Changed Della’s dislikes.

Removed FundyGirl, Kyartslave, Rohan99 and Theatrerachel from the homers only list.

And for the last time FundyGirl, Kyartslave and Rohan99 did not get the update.

I was looking back on all the round robin threads I have had a hand in and saw I have been taking care of this for a little over 2 years!

Does not seem like it has been that long. Guess time flies when you are having fun.

I hope everyone has enjoyed it as much as I have. My collection of Round Robins is really fun to go back and look at. I hope to get back to active play soon. Things just need to calm down a bit around here.

They are so crazy tonight I found an envelope of cards from my starters to some homers I thought had been taken care of. The goal for tomorrow is to try and get them done.

I'm here. When did we switch?

About 9 o'clock last night!

I noticed as I was welcoming Sarnie to our little group her post ahead of mine was number 1000 so I started a new one, left bread crumbs in many places so you all could find it and asked Carole to shut down the old one so it didn't get any bigger.

Does any one know why threads are closed at 1000 posts? I don't. I just remember reading somewhere they are so I try and keep track and play by the rules.

We have a fresh new place, a fresh new list and a new member.

I am waiting on information from Rhonda615 so I can get her added.

katelnorth

Checking in! Not sure why threads are closed at 1000 posts (this is the only thread I've been a part of that has ever reached that number!) - maybe just because it's too many to look through for stuff?

Thank you for all the info you sent me xstitcher - I hope someone sends me some cards when they feel like it !
What I didn't understand was can I just start three cards and send them to someone on the list - or do I wait for someone to tell me I can do that ?

xstitcher
06-05-2014, 10:50 PM
You can send starters now as you have all the addresses.

You need to use the oned on the top list as homers only players are not working on cards right now.

You need to pay attention to dislikes.

and you might not want to send cards to any active player who has not been on the board for a while.

I try and keep track and move inactive players to homers only but sometimes I don't get it done very quickly.

If you start to feel overwhelmed let me know and we can put you on homers only until you get caught up.

Please don't worry if you have them for a while. Some of us keep them longer than others............me being one of the some of us :biglaugh:

Wow we sure talk alot :) Hey everyone.

Everything has been a whirlwind with graduating and then my son deciding he wanted to move back to Ohio (he's 28), and helping him get ready for the move. He left today, so I have time on my hands again. Sorry I went afk right after I said I was back. Life sure changes fast!

dont worry,Sarnie. the beauty of a round robin is THERE ARE NO DUE DATES

One of the things I love about it :) I try to turn cards around within 2-3 weeks of receiving them. Sometimes it's within days - just depends on when I get them. If I think I won't manage to get them turned around within 2 weeks or so, I consider sending them on. But the other beauty of a round robin is that you only have to add (usually) something small, because there are 3 people playing. (Ok, sometimes this makes it hard, too!)

Mom and I had an awesome girls' evening in last night, working on RRs together! I had a set to pass on that she grabbed, and one that I had worked on that just needed a third player, and she also played on some starters I made. She's on fire!

Also, I got a set to finish from CeeJay, started by Heymaggie - it's a fishy set! Thanks for including me! :)
And I got a beautiful birdie homer from katelnorth - Elena and Kate did some wonderful things with my backgrounds, I love the card! <3

Sarnie
06-11-2014, 11:11 PM
Right I have spent an evening/late night making starter cards for all the people who were kind enough to say they would take them !

So tomorrow I will post cards to Kentuckydakota, mrubyjean, Sarah's Mum (hope she isn't all crafted out), CastleQueen5 and KatelNorth !
Nothing to frighten the horses all quite nice/normal/happy themes.
Some of the images are quite big so I am assuming that players will layer other images over them using them as backgrounds - They are mostly collage but some are stamped.

Now I would love someone to send me 2nd or 3rd player cards to have a go at - if anyone has any please x

Here're two sets that I finished a while ago - I know that they started arriving at their destinations, so I thought it was high time to post the pictures. :embarrassed:

The Japanese ballet dancer set in pink and black was CastleQueen5, Nancy and me. I added the Japanese letter that says "dance" or "jump" - I thought that fits. ;) Love the colour combination here! <3

And the Vintage Paris ones are from katelnorth, Tandy and me. I loved these to pieces when I got them and hope you girls like the stuff I added. :wubclub:

iTraders are on the way! :)

Good evening ladies. Welcome Sarnie. I am a bit slow on thinking I guess. I am looking at my emails and think, "I haven't received any messages from the group since the address update. Wonder where everyone is?" Oh we have a new thread. So I do want to check in and let you know I am still active. I have several starters to send out and I am finishing up one from Castlequeen tonight. My son is coming home for a visit. He is in the navy. He will be here for two weeks but I will have time to RR because he will be hanging out with friends. Can't wait to see him.

Sarnie and Sarah's mom, I have envies waiting to go to you, as soon as I get to the post office - probably monday. So you should both have things from me by the end of the week, hopefully, as you are pretty close, postally.

Sarnie, I just mailed out loads of 3rd player stuff a week or two ago, so I don't have any of those hanging out, but next time I get one in, I'll send it your way (as you are in the UK, too, you might get quite a few things from me - yay, cheap(er) postage opportunities!). If only Alipeeps would come out from hiding on the Homers Only list, we could do a complete RR within the UK, lol.

I finished two sets and will send them home tomorrow.
The one with the lovebirds was started by kentuckydakota

it on to me.

06-18-2014, 05:05 PM

And since you both worked on the birdies, you can each take yours and just mail back one since you're together.

I'm glad you like the sets! :) And yeah, we thought the same... saves us all some money and time if we keep our two homers here and just send you one.

Okay, kinda important rule question:
in the iTrader rules it says that I give an iTrader to each participant in a RR, but it also says that if I trade ATCs with someone in person I don't give them an iTrader because it's not mailart if we don't send the cards in the mail.
So, do I give my mom an iTrader for being one third of a RR crew, or do I not give her one because she didn't send the card to me (or vice versa)???

kentuckydakota
06-18-2014, 08:03 PM
I always gave it to my sis, even if we were sitting next to each other on the couch. Just seems fair. But she then said stop giving me itrader. I know you like it, I hear you ooh-ing and ahh-ing while I'm working on it. (So then I left her really gushy itrader to bug her, as little sisters are meant to do) :)
Don't think it matters much either way, but I'm not the official rule type, so maybe I was doing it wrong.

Sarnie
06-18-2014, 08:13 PM
I think you should give each other itraders if you both worked on the cards - who knows you are in the same room ? - you could have posted them to each other !

I'm going to give her an iTrader, and if it turns out to be not okay we can always PM Carole and ask her to remove it again or something. ;)

And we had mail! :D
Nancy sent a letter to us both with two wonderful sets to finish in it - we already both have our favourite set. ;) LOVE the moustache cats! XD
Sarnie sent gorgeous starters to mom, and katelnorth sent another lovely starter set to her!
Thank you all, ladies, the new sets are so pwetty!

Also, I'm ready to come back to play - won't be going abroad after all, so I might as well re-join the RR fun. :)

I think everyone should get an iTrader if they worked on the card!

I found some cards I don't think I gave iTraders for so I am going to do it tonight after the baseball game.

If I have time I will update and send out a new list. I think I am going off homers also.

About itrader. I write the word MINE on the back of the card, I put a check mark after I gave the itrader. That way I know I gave the itrader. Sometimes it can take days because lets say I need to leave itrader 3 times for Nancy. So it helps me keep track.

Thanks Linda! Love the duck tape book idea - we have tons of duck tape (because I have teenage daughters and when we were in the US about 5 years ago, it was a huge fad to make wallets and bags from it, so we came home with like a dozen rolls) so I might have to look into doing something like that with some of it!

I'm also working on a few starters myself so I can get some circulating again. If anyone's got an empty mailbox problem, let me know. Otherwise I'll just do a random RR attack. :D

I have this plastic storage box. Sometimes they are called plastic shoe boxes. But you know the kind, it has a lid. (I havent seen the lid in years) But in this really large plastic storage box, I keep atc, papers and cards and stuff all cut to the right size. Backgrounds and stuff. I have a baggie labelled, cut paper. One for card, like greeting cards or note cards. One with card stock. So if you can imagine the box was a mess. I sorted it out today.

So I want to do some starters. But Even though this is CRRR, one R meaning random, There are 3 starters that are religious.

One has FAITH in a raised image, I was going through a gesso stage

One has the fish symbol as the background paper and one has a whimsical angel stamped image on pink.

Is there anyone who would really love to try a religious theme? I can post photos if that helps.

Katie, you need to send a PM with your addy and dislikes to xstitcher (who organizes this group for us) and she'll get you added to the list - and then people will start sending you RR sets. :)

Heather, I'll work on any of these sets - they all don't sound overly religious/preacher-y, so I'm sure you can send them to anyone who doesn't have religious in their dislikes... :)

I agree w/ prayer, CQ. Those should be fine to send out as long as it's not listed in someone's dislikes.

Hey Guys and Gals I have a question. My friend popped over and happened to see some ATC's from this group I had just gotten in the mail. She was very intrigued about the whole thing and might want to join the group. Am I permitted to allow her to "help" on some of them? I am dreadfully behind and she is very creative as well :) Let me know if this is permitted please ... thanks

I once received a card that had been started on swapbot or something and passed to someone here and then to me, and it worked out ok, though I couldn't leave any feedback or anything for her. I think technically she is supposed to join in order to be one of the three artists credited with the card, although if you and she are both fine with her doing the work and you putting your name on the back I don't see that it would be a problem. You'd get the feedback but you could pass the return on to her.
Of course I'm not the official word on the subject. Hope she joins in the fun one way or another :)

And got a lovely return and some super-fun starters from Nancy today. Already have ideas for these ones. :)

The cards are not leaving your possession?

It sure would be nice to have her join, so we know it was her, and not wonder if you were going through a Blue or PInk period of your art career. (think Picasso).

When I was doing some atc work, I got together with a friend. I did the cards but she sure did have some opinions. (I was been nice there)

So we figured out how to do it so she could be involved too. She kind of set up some of the cards and gave me ideas and I assembled them. I also had her join atcsforall.com before we started. She wants to join this group, but I couldn't find the group from her acct so I showed her how to mail XStitcher. She is also going to join the HD/HP group. Her name is AlornJr. When she left she said she hadn't had so much fun in forever! So welcome her aboard when you see her. Synopsis of the day:

The following have mail coming their way (told you I was dreadfully behind) -- also please send more. Got everything finished today. Anyways heres the list:

Lafaver55
Angelmuz
Bigtoe Studio (Thanks so much for the materials you sent... AWESOME!)
CastleQueen5
Ferretgirl
Prayer at Night x2 envelopes
Katelnorth
Elena
Tandy
Heymaggie (Two sets of Homers)
Nancy
MrubyJean

Those are all the sets I had. Each envelope contains a set I worked on (or couldn't figure out how to do (2 I think) and something new to work on. Enjoy!

Two sets finished and on their way to the 'starters'

The first set was a lovely damask background by Vicky and the amazing bling is courtesy of Kentuckydakota - I just added the cherubs/Crinoline lady images !

The second set looked completely finished when it got to me - absolutely stunning background by CastleQueen5 and lovely ladies and text by mrubyjean - I thought about adding other images such as fans, purses or flowers but nothing worked really so in the end I just added some star and round tiny jewels - which I thought did work !

I just wanted to let you know that I SO appreciate the card and paint chips that you sent me. Unfortunatly I will be taking a fairly long break from doing swaps and so I had to bow out of the paint chip swap along with all the others I had signed up for. Please forgive me for my total abandonment of the ship, as I said in my little note, I just need some time to get sorted out. Alrighty, mom and I had a little two day RR party. :biglaugh: Here are sets that we finished:

Eat, Sleep, Go Fishing: Heymaggie, CeeJay and Sarah´s mom.
CeeJay sent them to me, but I didn't have a clue what to de with them, but mom had this idea - love it! :D

Purple cards with pansies and butterflies: LauraM540, Nancy and Sarah´s mom.
This set looks very nice in person, but it wasn't quite possible to capture it on camera.

Detective Inspector Cat: kentuckydakota, Nancy and me.
I LOVED this set the moment I clapped eyes on it - I mean, moustache cats! :biglaugh: And they totally needed a pipe, so there. ;)

Animals in birdhouses: Nancy, kentuckydakota and me.
Another set I immediately loved, and I also knew right away that strange animals needed to live in the houses... but we only bought the stickers a couple days ago, so I needed to wait for the right stickers that matched my idea. ;) Love how they turned out!

We hope our co-artists like what we did!
We'll send them home soon. :)

Thanks, ladies! :D I'm glad you all like the not-birds. ;) Actually, it was mom's idea - when I got the set and showed it to her, she immediately said: You can't put birds into the bird houses. :biglaugh:

Here's another finished set - I wasn't sure yesterday if I was finished or not, but now I'm sure. ;)
This set is from Nancy, xstitcher and me. Hope you like them! :)

What I didn't even mention in the last post is that mom and I also worked on lots of sets as second player, so be prepared for letters from Germany, girls! :biglaugh:

This seems really cool...but i'm kind of dim...
So you just send the started cards to anyone on the list?

xstitcher
07-20-2014, 12:14 AM
Yes you can send cards to anyone on the active part of the list as long as it is not something on their dislike list.

DeepDarkHana
07-20-2014, 12:20 AM
And they tell their dislikes when i ask for their address right?
Is this Just for ATCs or would sending other mail art be okay...?

xstitcher
07-20-2014, 01:28 AM
Their dislikes are on the list you get when you join.

And no sending other mail art would not be ok here as this is a round robin for ATCs.

I suppose you could ask in a pm if anyone wanted to do other art, but you just can't randomly send it to them.

We would love to have you join us. If you decide you want to send me a pm with your name and address along with anything you do not want on an ATC such as nudes, gory, goth, butterflies, fairies, etc........ If you are willing to work on anything (as many players are) you don't have to give me any dislikes. And once you join if you want to make changes all you need do is pm me and I will update the list.

PS does Wal-mart sell craft stuff ?

That's fantastic in the UK we have to find craft shops (and there are none in London), search stationery stores or buy on-line - since Woolworths closed down we don't have stores that sell everything.
Our big supermarkets sell some basic stationery but nothing exciting !

Wal-Mart does sell craft stuff but it's very.limited. I've found some cool stuff there though, on occasion.

Alorn, looking forward to them!! :-)

Sarnie, when I visited London in March, I bought some nice stuff at Paperchase - they have some really cute stuff including tons of stickers (I'm addicted to stickers) and cool washi tapes. :3

Yes sometimes Paperchase has interesting products but it depends on the branch (they don't all sell the same things) and for some odd reason they don't sell much craft stuff on- line.

Ah, okay, I guess I was just lucky then - I stumbled across a Paperchase shop that had some crafty awesomeness in it. :)

Since we're talking supply shopping, you can usually find some decent quality stuff at Staples and office supply places...maybe not the first place you'd think of, but the hd/hp type stuff is quite a bit cheeper than in most craft stores and of course they have loads of neat brads and stickers and stuff, too!! :)

These are very International - started in Fort Worth Texas by Maggie, worked on by Sarah in Lubeck in Germany and finished by me in London, England !

If all the ATCs in CRRR are supposed to be exactly the same then these were an epic fail at all stages !

There has been debate on the subject before Sarnie.

If I remember correctly the way we left it is you can do it either way, all the same or similar or all 3 different different like the ones you just finished.

Personally I like them all the same or it seems to me it defeats the purpose of 3 players working on them so on my list I have it noted "only cards that are the same".

If I get some that are different and I have an idea for them that can be the same for all 3 I will go ahead and add whatever, but if I don't I send them on to someone else.

I just found a set of cards (mostly orange) from Sarnie and mrubyjean that weren't where they were supposed to be for working on. Not sure what happened but I will find something and get them finished and out as soon as possible.

And on that note they are the only ones I have so I may try and make some starters while I am in stitching mode.

Sarnie, I've found stuff from time to time at Wilkinsons, if you have one of those near you. Also, Tiger sometimes has nice stuff, e.g. stickers and washi tape. Ikea has some limited supplies of washi tape with the wrapping paper selection. There used to be a Hobbycraft about 15 minutes drive from me, but the closest one now is in Croydon. Oh well!

The cross making thing Kate is that every time I visit other Cities in the UK I find absolutely great Craft Shops with absolutely gorgeous supplies ! There are fantastic ones in Manchester, Bristol, Leeds etc etc I even found terrific ones in holiday places like Whitby and Eastbourne.
But none in London - I have asked why and it seems the rent is too high - same thing applies to wool and other types of craft shops. We used to have fab small shops in Chiswick which is my nearest place to shop but they all have left as their leases have come up for renewal. Now we have the usual chains, masses of restaurants and the odd 'posh' speciality shop like the organic baker who charges £5 for a small loaf of bread !
One fresh fish shop is holding on in Turnham Green - just !
All the butchers, greengrocers and ordinary bakers have gone along with the wool shop !
So now it's Waitrose, M & S or Sainsburys but we do have a Paperchase !
There is a Tiger Tiger in Ealing but it has a tiny number of craft items - it is great for Xmas stocking pressies though !

I get most of my craft supplies on-line - I do one very big shop per year from the States as even with postage they are cheaper than here.
But it is nice to actually look and handle the papers/stamps etc before you buy - and obviously you come across things you didn't know existed and were not really looking for.

katelnorth
08-03-2014, 06:23 PM
Yep, I know what you mean. We are a little further out than Chiswick, but I think the rents are still very high. And whenever I take a trip to Ikea in Croydon, I try to stop in at the Hobbycraft down the road :)

Also, xstitcher, when you can, please email me the list of addresses again?

These were started by sarnie. She did the background and lady.
I added the corner catalog pages, text "what is it this time?", butterflies, and pink stamp ink around corners.

Now I'm sending these to tandy to finish :-)

vampiress rose - I don't know what others do but I wait until I get a complete card worked on by three people and at that point give the other two players iTraders !

They were two separate starter sets - but I think you gathered that !

Well, Sarnie, I was thinking you might have been going for a medieval theme, but, I didn't have anything medieval themed, and I always LOVE creating with postage stamps, so, i figured I'd go that route ;) They were totally FUN to work on! I was thinking (which can be very dangerous, just ask my husband :biglaugh:) about what i could do. i decided if i do it i will start it on a piece of fabric the same size i use for an ATC, cross stitch something on it and send it to player 2 who adds their thing then sends to player 3. there would be a piece of paper for everyone to put their info on included.

once player 3 is finished they can send all 3 back to me so I can complete the backs and get them back out.

of course it is all just in my mind right now.

I wouldn't be able to play that one though, unfortunately... No machine and I can't sew to save my life. Well, I can, I've sewed a few projects but.... One of them fell apart! :/

Yeah... i stick with a hot glue gun for my fabric projects, haha.

It is ok to ask who wants a card. Probably the best way to get the theme you want. if nothing else you can pm each other and "talk" about it.

Or i guess you could put a note with the cards asking what theme you want to stick with.

I do not like the idea of requesting themed cards, that is what the Swap and MMH threads are for. (That should be arranged in PMs if done here)
This thread has been such a fun challenge because the artist use their creativity to make art that is unique and sooo special...Two recent fun examples were the cat with a mustache smoking a pipe and an alligator in a birdhouse
And to our new members. Welcome to this great group! All media is welcomed here, I have made and received many cards with fabric, lace, ribbons etc....You have to be careful with the weight because they often cost extra postage...especially adding buttons!

BekaH
08-07-2014, 06:33 PM
I don't see a problem with themes... this is different than the mmh and pif because we are still working together and adding our own embellishments. But to each their own :-)

Anyways, here are some cards that stonefx sent me to finish. Nancy did the.background, stonefx added the bird on branch, and I added the flower and.butterfly punch, and the quote, and inked the edge...

Sending two of these back to Nancy soon :-)

i also have thought about doing an all fabric card. i would ask for volunteers for that on though.

That would be fun to do "separated at birth" twin sets... A group I belonged to did that once with complex cloth (you started with a piece of fabric you had hand-dyed, then cut it in half and sent half of it one way, half another...) It was fun to see how differently they turned out. We did have to have a schedule of what to send where, though. I don't think with an ATC it would matter if it had the same people working on it twice - after all, they wouldn't both be 2nd player, so what they add might be different anyway. And if a person received one they'd already worked on, they could send it along to someone else... I'd be willing to play along with a group like that!

I've also thought about doing an all Found Poetry RR - first person adds one or two short lines, second person continues the poem and so on. Obviously other things could be added as well...

Hey I have a question that I have every time I do an itrader. Am I player or trader? I've been putting player.

I just looked to see what I do.

Usually I put player but looks like I slipped into host mode at some point and hit the host button. My apologies to those I did wrong.

edited to add

I just looked at the iTrader for the person I left it for in a Round Robin and when I say I was the player (which I thought I did) it shows on mine it was from me as the host. Wonder if that means we should be hitting trader each time?

Sarnie
08-09-2014, 12:32 AM
I may have been doing it all wrong too - but I think in this instance if we are awarding iTraders we are all Traders !

So I have been awarding iTraders to the other two players as a Trader !!!!!

kentuckydakota
08-09-2014, 03:36 AM
Yep, I just put trader, since no one's exactly a host. But if I hit a different one occasionally I try not to be too worried. I'm thinking it doesn't much matter. Is that the case?

Hoping that is the case, kentuckydakota. I alternate between player and trader since I'm not sure which to use. But I figure giving the iTrader is the important thing.

xstitcher
08-09-2014, 10:19 AM
I agree. Giving it is the most important thing.

I looked at my “left for others” tab and this is what I discovered………….

If I said I was the player it shows I left an iTrader for the host
If I said I was the host it shows I left an iTrader for a player
If I said I was a trader it shows I left an iTrader another trader

[And here I thought I was hitting host instead of player when leaving iTraders for the round robins.]

So maybe we should all be saying we are traders. I am going to try and remember to from now on because I am not the host of this thread, only the person who keeps tries to keep the list current.

Think I will update the 1st page somehow.

Edited to add: I updated it and posted here (http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showpost.php?p=1603137&postcount=239) what all the differences are...........

Somewhere in the forum, I think there are guidelines on this. If I can find it, I'll link. But pretty sure that we should put trader in these circumstances, as there's no official host, so no one is a player...

I don't know how to list links but if you go to Site Support there is a great article on when to give ITraders & when to give You Rock points. It explains it really well. You can also go to the Search button & I just pulled it up under When to give ITrader & it puled that thread right up for me. I do know that you don't give ITraders for RAKs or Wish Lists fulfilled. It states that Random JAMs participants should always leave each other ITrader points.

katelnorth
08-10-2014, 04:21 AM
The article that talks about when to give iTrader and when to give you rock and all that is here:

http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/faq.php?faq=itrader#faq_itrader_how

and as ferretgirl says, it's very thorough and helpful when trying to figure out which one to give.

But although it says you should give all players iTrader when doing a RR, it doesn't mentioned whether you should give iTrader for RR as "player" or "trader"- it may be that I imagined reading that somewhere!! But I think that what xstitcher explained about how the other person's iTrader shows up is the key... If I give, for instance, iTrader to ferretgirl and I choose that I am the player, the iTrader mark she gets shows her as the host. Which, in this case, she isn't. Whereas if I give mine as trader, hers also shows as trader. Seems to me, that's the best option. However, I'm not sure it makes a HUGE difference, as long as we are all getting our iTrader points - just might be a bit confusing as someone who has never hosted a swap might end up with host iTrader points...

edited to say: there's a very interesting thread in the Site Support section (http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1721) all about rep points and iTrader - I learned some new stuff (such as, did you know that if you have a lot of rep points yourself, you leave more rep points when you give a person "you rock" than someone who doesn't have many rep points themselves. Did you know you can see if a given post of yours received rep points by clicking on you rock on that post - it will also tell you how many rep points you have yourself at that point.). Anyway, the question we are discussing didn't seem to be covered in that thread, so I have posted it, and will hopefully get a definitive answer before too long. Not that it matters too much, but now that we've started thinking about it I WANT TO KNOW because that's what I'm like. :)

Thanks Ladies! Here is the quick version. I now know only itrader! Ty so much!
Give iTrader feedback to:

* A swap host.
* A private trader (whether you are trading ATC’s, rolos, decos, circle journals, chunky book pages, etc.).
* Host and participants in a Pick-A-Theme group.
* All participants in Jam cards or Round Robins.
* Pay-It-Forward trades.
* Supply trades.

...and, I have the official word from Carole now:

"In an RR iTrader should be left as a Trader, because it's a 3 way trade.

When you leave a rating as a Player, it does show the person you left it for as the Host."

I wouldn't worry if you have done it before as a Player, but officially, we should leave it as "traders" in RRs.

MACE, there are lots of interesting threads in the Site Support forum - almost anything you want to ask has probably been asked and discussed before...

I posted this yesterday on the PAT I am hosting instead of here........ Bet most of my PAT players were scratching their heads............:biglaugh::err:

Of course I couldn't just make one change! :biglaugh:

Here is what it looked like when I started........................

VERY IMPORTANT ~ Please note you must look at the first post before sending cards to anyone to make sure they are still playing.

EQUALLY IMPORTANT ~ Please check what cards a player DOES NOT WANT. Do not send unwanted themes to anyone as they must pay to send them on to someone else .

If you get a set of cards and you have no idea what to do with them, just send them on to someone else.

Part of the fun of being in a Round Robin is seeing who is doing what so when you receive a Round Robin and when you mail them out please try and remember to post here. Although there will be no Round Robin Police sent to visit if you don't! And you never have to say who you are sending to unless you want to.

Feel free to post eye candy whenever you want.

And last but not least…………

iTraders are fun to give and get so please remember them. Once you have a completed card you can give them to both the other players.

And here is what it looked like when I finished....................

Howdy Everyone!
I am new to this RR Group but I have done RR's before in my ATC Facebook group. I've been officially added to the list and I'm excited to get started! I have a question though:

1. When I start a set do I need to post and ask who wants to play or do I just randomly send them to someone on the list?

Thanks and ART ON!

BekaH
08-12-2014, 01:03 AM
Just randomly send them, katie, unless you want a specific theme, then you should ask for players here.

katelnorth
08-12-2014, 04:20 AM
Definitely just randomly send them (hence the name of the group), although some people like to check to make sure a player is active at the moment. You can post them and ask for players if you like - people often do this if the topic of the ATC is a little unusual, very specific, etc. For instance, a set with zetti might not appeal to everyone, or something quite dark or goth. In general though, what people do and don't want to work on is covered in the list - most people are happy to work on most things (the main exceptions tend to be religious themes, dark/scary stuff, nudes and spiders!) so as long as it doesn't say "no clowns" (or whatever) next to their name, you are good to go.

Sometimes people have put out an appeal for cards, so that's always a good way to go! I'm hoping to get some starters made this week myself, so I'll be sure to send some your way (and you too, maggie!).

Prayer and Sarah's Mom. Finally finished the under sea set. Great colors-I loved how they came out! :)
