Inchies Deco

I just made a small, postage friendly deco with 4 pages to decorate!

The pages dimensions are 2+ 1/2 inches high by 2+ 3/4 wide, in case anyone is as ocd as me and would like to start their page early.

Any theme or colours are welcome, though I do ask that any embellishments lie somewhat flat to keep the bulk and the postage down. Collage, paint, draw, whatever you like, as long as you incorporate one or two inchies in your page.

Each participant is asked to keep the deco no longer than 7 days before passing it along to the next in line.

This is a world-wide friendly deco. Participants have to be willing and able to mail this outside of your country, if the next person in line is in a different country than you.

It is each participants responsibility to contact the person after them via pm for their mailing address as soon as the list is full- that way you will have it by the time you are ready to mail it along.

In addition, participants will be expected to post in this thread the date s/he receives the deco and the date s/he mails it to the next in line.

What's in it for you, you ask?
Well, I'm glad you asked! When the deco comes home to me, within the first 7 days I receive it( hey, I don't make rules I won't abide by myself!) I will mail out small thank you parcels to each participant. You will get an original inchy by me, or other small artwork such as an atc, and a sweet little bundle of high quality collage papers and ephemera.

I would like to join. I haven't done a "Deco" before. Question. Do we glue our page to your book, or we work on the page of the "Deco"?? I am going on vacation from the May 8th to the 11th, and from May 28 to June 2nd, so if you can work it out I don't have the "Deco" those days, I would appreciate it.

Elena, I will send this right out to you so you can have it and mail it on to Ria (pm her for her addy if you want to be super efficient! :) ) before you leave for vacation.

There is a great article about Decos, by Lisa Vollrath on her site "Go Make Something.com". I would post the link but I am so new the forum won't allow me yet. :eek:

You can either start your piece now and attach it to the deco page when it arrives, or work the page directly. I used a good quality watercolour paper so it can stand up to a lot.

Have received deco and done my page - I did my artwork on page 3, hope we weren't supposed to keep some kind of order!!!!!!!!!!?

Hey Ria, thanks so much for updating! Order is not important in the deco, so no worries. I am really glad you enjoyed working in this. Scraps is away this week I think, and he might not be back for a few days, so I won't mind if you want to send it along to cdraz/ceedee, and then she can send it to him when she's done.

they are small handmade booklets that get passed aound fron artist to artist through the mail. Each artist decorates a page and passes it along. They come in all styles, sizes, and types from basic and goofy to fine art. Mine lean toward the middle- to - silly side.

I received this on the 24th. Sadly, I was at a memorial service that day, and have not been available until today.

Everyone did lovely work. It looks absolutely gorgeous. I am sending you each an inchy and a little treat as a thank you gift. This will go out either tomorrow (Wednesday the28th or Thursday the 29th.
