No soap boxes here---so no worries!! I've said it before & I'll reiterate it again: I'm not hosting because I know what I'm doing, I'm hosting because I want to learn & I wanted this group to happen, lol!!!
Ok then, it's official: Comunicate with the next player on your moley's list! Don't send until either A. They are ready for it or B. The mailing date is approaching!... We don't want any overwhelmed players & we will circumvent train wrecks any way within our means!

Sooo I came across a recipe that just sounds so. damn. good... & I thought instantly of Jules. So here's my pic of her moley... I give you Ménage à Trois Bacon Sriracha Mac-n-Cheese! :D
The big yellow block is the ingredients... Mostly spices & whatnot. I made a little envy pocket on the third page to pop the directions into (it was the only way I could save some space for art)... Hope ya likey lady.

wow you've been all kinds of busy! awesome pages and super cute foodie inchies...
i feel so lazy. hehehe
Linda4atc
02-20-2015, 01:39 PM
I am very interested in the inchies. Just have to wait and see if I can get motivated to go do the mixed media stuff. It is not right at my fingertips the way my copics are. LOL
When we gave up the apartment in Eureka a lot of stuff was piled into the trailer that is my studio. It is very difficult to work on stuff now. Good news is eventually I will have a big desk and some shelves so I can set up al lot more of my stuff. But that is still probably a year away.
Hey I would like to remind all of you there is a Paint / Draw-a-thon Feb 20 through March 1, 2015. It is for all sizes of hand drawn or painted art. Drop in and share what you are doing, or jump in and make something to start trading. Either way it would be fun to see you there.

WooHooo, Cool can't wait to get started on another. I already have the sketch done so it won't take me long. I'll be able to pass it on to TF early if you get ready early.
In April I will be getting Mrs A's book, I have lots of reference photos but not sure how to put that one together till I get a look at the others already in it.
Charlie Brown
03-01-2015, 12:05 PM
T, yep that works for me. I've dedicated today for working on Linda's pages. Now I just need to transfer my drawing to her pages then giving it life with color.
Jules, hope you are enjoying the testing of recipes! Speaking of which, I put a copy of a recipe for everyone in the back pocket of my book. I am a big believer in testing them out first, but made this one after I shipped. Honestly was not impressed with my results. :( but that's just me, and believe me they still got devoured by my crew.

It's wonderful! Can't wait till I can get to see it in person.
As for the book, I think there is a whole page for each person. so if you want to tell a little about your art you can, or not, it's up to you. But I definitely want the usual name, username, location, and date.

Ok WeaverLady... Here's what I came up with...
155941
I'm really amused with retro food blogs (here's one of my favs) (http://www.midcenturymenu.com) & awhile back that blog did this atrocious Spam recipe... And I had some Spam notecards once upon a time that I still have some of the backboards (with mini spam tins on them) and then I found a book about the history of Spam at the library (purely accidental---Who knew that even existed?!?). So all of those things lined up & put me on a Spam kick.
I had a lot of fun creating a paper kitchen... I know it's not my usual thing, but I hope you like it, too... I even had fun playing with the lil wifey like a paper doll in her kitchen before I glued it all in. There's a Spam recipe card tucked in the back pocket for you, too... One of the less disturbing recipes I found LOL!!

03-03-2015, 09:58 AM
That's awesome!!!! I have that SPAM book ;)

I'm done with angelmuz's spread. Funny thing, when I did my own book, I skipped one page accidentally and had to do a little cut and paste job to get me back on the right pages.
Then when angelmuz gave me her book she'd done the same thing-lol. So my 3 page spread in her book is both before and after hers. :)
Linda4atc
03-03-2015, 05:44 PM
OMG TF that kitchen is fantastic!!!! I don't know if any of ours can match it.
LOL kentuckydakota I guess it was good you got her book because you understood the skipped page. Cute critter pages. I think that one is going to be a challenge.

Yes...
... I'm sorry I was 4 days late of the mailing date. :( She should still receive it Thursday which is only 6 days after the mailing date, which would be still less time than what I've been having for a mailing from here to California lately. The last few things I've mailed to California via regular mail have taken over a week.

03-13-2015, 11:23 AM
Letter mail is usually within a week but packages take a little longer. I can't do tracking numbers, costs waaaaay too much. Never had anything get lost in 8 years of trading. Knock on wood ;)
TF Balding
03-13-2015, 01:27 PM
Tracking across the borders IS crazy expensive... as long as everybody keeps a scan of their receipt when they mail to/from Canada, that's the most required by site rules & we'll just have to wing it from there. Hang in there Linda, it'll show up soon!
Mrs.A's book arrived--check!

I feel for people who are really very sick and have poor health. I don't think I would cope very well living like this long term. I have picked my recipe for Jules - I hope you like it, we did! Mrs.Alderman
03-27-2015, 09:59 PM
its actually not been too bad, took 45 mins total and they put me under so I didint feel anything at all, woke up and was given meds for the weekend. mouth was numb all of yesterday and stuck on soft foods until Thursday when they show me how to clean out the sockets so they don't get infected or yucky. the antibiotics knock me out the most, I thought it would be the hydros from all the stories ive heard!!
Linda4atc
03-28-2015, 11:54 AM
Hmmm I guess I had it really easy. I only had threes wisdom teeth. They never came in but I would have teething pains from time to when they tried, there just wasn't any room for them. The dentist extracted all three. Like you he put me out, when I awoke I didn't even realize it was done. But I only had liquids that day and no special worries afterwards. I don't think I had open sockets. Hope the heal up quickly. hugs.
Mrs.Alderman
03-28-2015, 11:01 PM
so far its not too terrible. I'm done with the antibiotics as of this morning. now just amoxycilline and hydros left as needed. I got my pages done today! :D!! I call it the Orbitorium!! its like a greenhouse in space!!
Kynara
03-29-2015, 01:18 AM

so far its not too terrible. I'm done with the antibiotics as of this morning. now just amoxycilline and hydros left as needed.
Amoxicillin IS an antibiotic... did they tell you to take that one as needed? (if so, you might need a new dr ;) haha)
I had a second molar pulled last week and I'm still on the codeine. seems the "bony wall" that supports the teeth has decided to buckle and push out on my gums. mega-pain. he said it could take a month to go back to normal and to help it I should push/rub it every so often. ugh, even at the height of the codeine and with oragel, pushing on it makes me wanna pass out :swoon: (and I have a high pain tolerance lol)
oh well, it's all still better than the pain of a messed up tooth and/or the 'pain' of having to pay $1,200 for the root canal that the teeth needed (my second pulled molar this year) Luckily all I have left are 5 cavities that are no big deal. Serves me right for avoiding the dentist for almost 20 years... (dentista-phobia haha)
linda, you probably didn't have open sockets because if they cut them out they might have sewn it shut covering the hole where the teeth were. I'm thinking that's what they did with mine when they were removed. of course, it was so long ago I just can't remember fully. (or maybe I blocked it ;) PTSD kinda thing haha)
Mrs.Alderman
03-30-2015, 12:02 AM
well they gave me 3 pills that were steroids that I had to take and those knocked me out, and then I am suppose to take the Amoxicillin every 8 hrs and hydros as needed (recommended every 4 hrs but ive just been taking it with the amoxicillin).. I went to the oral surgeon my dentist recommended cause he would only pull them one at a time and not be under and he said its best to go there cause of how deep my roots are. were...
its the year of terrible teeth!!!! I hope your bony wall feels better soon and they can help you feel better!! I waited 6 years and have a few cavities left too but they are the same size as 6 years ago "micro cavities" I always wonder what they are really meaning when they say micro and cant point it out on the chart!!

well they gave me 3 pills that were steroids that I had to take and those knocked me out, and then I am suppose to take the Amoxicillin every 8 hrs and hydros as needed (recommended every 4 hrs but ive just been taking it with the amoxicillin).. I went to the oral surgeon my dentist recommended cause he would only pull them one at a time and not be under and he said its best to go there cause of how deep my roots are. were...
its the year of terrible teeth!!!! I hope your bony wall feels better soon and they can help you feel better!! I waited 6 years and have a few cavities left too but they are the same size as 6 years ago "micro cavities" I always wonder what they are really meaning when they say micro and cant point it out on the chart!!
one at a time? ugh! lol I did the all at once with the wisdom teeth too when they were out, I can't imagine having one at a time, or being awake for it lol. They're so much harder to get to than the regular molars. I guess it has to be the oral surgeon because the regular dentist is probably not licensed for that kind of anesthesia.
Mine is starting to feel better, I'm not having to take codeine anymore at least ;) I can horde the rest for when my back flares up haha
If you were able to take the hydros every 8 instead of every 4 then at least that means the pain wasn't too bad. :wubclub:
micro cavities... hahaha tell them then they can "micro fill" them and "micro charge" you for them :twitcy: ;)

OMG, all this tooth talk AND trying to come up with art for TF's sweetsville moley is making my teeth hurt! KD, that spread is sweet (couldn't resist)!
Bought $50 of chocolate at chocolate shop today. I live in a city of 30,000 and we have 4 family owned chocolate shops! So glad my kids appreciate good chocolate now instead of that other crap!

I know you're not big on the sweet tooth, so your section of the Candy Kingdom could be the fruity sweet adult beverage part of town lol... Just a thought. ;)

Cute Angelmuz! I hope your health gets better and stays good.
I guess I"ll admit what an idiot I am. I had Charlie Brown's Truck pages all sketched out before I even got the book. So when it arrived I transferred the sketch and inked it in. THEN I decided to look for the recipe. I know I have it. But for over a week now I have gone through all the loose recipes I have. I bugged my daughter-in-law and sister to check there stuff, I just can not find the Fry bread my mom used to make.
I haven't made it in almost 30 years myself but I could just picture it sold from an old pickup food truck. So I admit I had to find a recipe online.
I made it today. It was a very small batch, with just 4 small pieces. I liked it. There are many different variations online. I do not remember what was in our recipe or if we kneaded the dough, etc. I know we made a big batch, and larger pieces. My mom would tear a hole in the center to help it cook more evenly.
I chose this particular recipe because she had really good tips about testing the oil temperature without a thermometer, and it was simple. But some of the other more involved recipes may suit you better.

I have about half my page sketched out. Looking at the other pages I was wondering if I should try using color pencil or watercolors for large areas. I do not have many pastel makers and the to me I think my normal colors will read much darker than the other pages, and I would like the scene to blend together.

my mom came up with her version of it back when my hubby and i were engaged and he was working for a company delivering lobsters to stores and restaurants. if they died we got to take them home. mom would cook them up and as long as the tails still curled up...they were good to eat. we had so much lobster that year! i dont think ive had it since and that was almost 30 years ago. i can still taste this recipe though. sooooo good!!

I know my mom used to have it occasionally because I remember her complaining about one place she got it. She said it tasted like it was watery instant mash potatoes. LOL
I usually only get lobster now when we see a good price on the little tails in the market. It's just too expensive.

Holy wow Amy, that is fabulous!!!!! Every once in a while you just need to treat yourself - and not your unappreciative hulking teenage boys - to lobster!!!

LOL I kept my distance from the seafood counter at Safeway yesterday because as soon as I saw the lobster tails I thought of your Lobster Thermadore. I will probably be adding your recipe to my collection just in case.

LOL--everybody's discussing wonderful things like Lobster Thermidor & I'm off to an early Mother's Day meal at the Burger Barn---cause that's how I roll! ;) It's awesome though, because I sincerely adore a nice no-stress meal out with my lil fam.

trust me, Tanya...we are much more the simple, relaxed and well...poor type. we joke that a celebration for us means ordering something from the regular menu instead of the dollar menu at McDonald's. ;)

Lol, been there and done (most times, still doing) that!! I always sport a calculator at the store to stay on budget. I used to kid that I needed to make a recipe book and name it "spaghetti with tears".

Lmao... I bought a Ramen Noodle cookbook (it just calls for too many other ingredients & they're usually a little pricey)!
Hope everyone is having a nice Mother's Day---even our Northern peeps who may or may not be celebrating today! :wubclub:

I treated myself to appetizers at Applebees for lunch yesterday when I was in town. I always love all the choices on their menu. My husband is not all that fond of the place so we halved the bill by my going alone. Then this morning he made a great breakfast for me to start the day. It's all been good.

I stayed at Ian's Saturday night, came home yesterday afternoon and front and back lawns were mowed, 3 loads of laundry done, kitchen cleaned and 2 cards and even a poem!!! It was like entering an alternate universe lol. Perhaps not having me here in the morning made them realize how much they appreciate me?

Lucky you! I spent the weekend in Indiana with my mom and grandmother and when I got home all they'd managed to do was mow the yard. (and that was hastily done right before I got home ;) )

Lol--awesome!! I got to spend Mother's Day listening to my MIL drop not-at-all-subtle hints that she would like my husband to take her out to dinner & a movie more often... Which is lovely, because he only takes ME once every six months or so. :err: Oh & the charm bracket he & the kiddo picked out for her was just kinda meh I guess. :dull: I suppose I should've sent that $$$ with my husband to take her out instead (ya know, while me & the kid stayed home & stared at each other). Maybe next year I will...

No more kids at home, moms or in-law-parents to deal with here, but it was my daughter-in-laws first Mothers Day (foster parents) so I sent her a card and little gift.
My son called me Sunday and it was a nice long conversation (very rare) but they are struggling so it was kind of depressing for both of us too. I wish I could make all theirs (and our) money issues fade away.LOL
