I've had a really rough week, so I haven't been as attentive as I probably should be. One of my coworker's son was killed in an automobile accident late last Wednesday night. We're a tight knit lil group, so we've all been pretty shook up. He was only 17 & we've all watched him grow up since he was itty-bitty... Just such a shock.

Time to get my head back in the game though... Or as much in as I ever accomplish. :eek:

hugs and prayers for all of you that cared for that boy. Such a sad thing, especially at such a young age. My sixteen year old cousin died in a car accident just after getting his license back when I was a teen and I remember the whole family being in shock.

I am doing pretty good. My sons life is a mess, and emotions are high on that front, and my husband is having a little health issue we are trying to figure out. But I am very lucky that my personality/emotions may feel the stress and sadness but it doesn't take me over. I just deal with in smaller bursts.

I haven't got very far on Angel's moley but I am sure it will be ready to mail on time.

I just finished sketching out my spread for KDs book. I had to do some research and came up with a children's book I never read before, so yay for discovering new things. It's been ages since I've read a picture book. I'm doing my spread on Strega Nona by Tomie dePaola. I really love his style and think it's a good match for me. I will post a pic in the next few days.

Sorry about that Amy. Had to re-up my subscription. It snuck up on me. So far in my book is a Strega Nona spread. But I have tip-ins with Charlotte's Web, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland and Wind in the Willows headed my way. Those are the one's I'm aware of.

It's great Amy. I have not mailed angels book yet. I carried with me into town last week and forgot to mail it. Things have been crazy, on the day I planned to mail it I locked my keys, purse and phone all in the trunk after class. I called AAA but had no phone to get them to call me back. The wait was well over an hour and frustrating. I just came straight home. Then things at home have been out of whack and I lost track of time. My husband tweeked his back pretty bad and I have been trying to help him. Also I got a flu shot last week and actually got sick from it! I get them all the time and this is first time it has effected me so. It is annoying and I am sleeping more but I am grateful that I got the shot. I am sure my symptoms would be much worse if it were the flu and not the vaccine. Monday is a holiday so I may make a trip on Tuesday to mail it, if not I will definitely mail on Wednesday since I have class.

Gaaaah Linda that sucks!!! I used to HAVE to get the flu shot every year because I worked in a nursing facility... But it was usually mid-December & flu season was already in full swing by the time we got them, so most of us were already sick (with colds ect...) so the shots just AMPLIFIED the symptoms. I hated it, but there was no way out. I've been away from that job for almost three years now. Three glorious flu shot free years... And I've had colds, but never the lingering hellish bouts that I used to get after the flu shots (& yes, I still work with the public). I don't care what they say, the flu shot is evil lol... I've got plenty of eccinatia & vitamin c, I'll skip the flu shots from here on out. ;)

My daughter and I both have been getting flu shots every year for 15+ years or so. We both have severe asthma and the flu could easily put us in the hospital, so our doctors encourage us to get them. Luckily, we've never gotten sick from one.

However, I got a pneumonia shot in '99... THAT was horrible. haha If I remember right, I missed two weeks of work. I've refused to get another one of those nasty things :twitcy:

Well I know I could feel a lot worse. The worse thing about it is the night coughing. I used Nyquil but as soon as it wore off it started again. I go back to sleep pretty easy but my poor husband has a bit of insomnia and usually has a hard time getting back to sleep.

Poor Linda! I hope you and hubster feel better soon. I skip the flu shots too. I just don't want to mess with them yet. Maybe a different story when I get older or have a compromised immune system, but for now I do ok without.

Well... I completely forgot to mail waffle's moley this morning before I went to sleep (work at home nights, sleep while kid is at school) and woke up at 2:30 right when my little town post office closes. grrr
BUT my sweetie got off work a little early and, bless his heart, offered to drive to the bigger town nearby (15-20 miles) where the post office closes at 5. Even though he will have to turn around and go back there at 6 to take my daughter to taikwondo class. He's such a sweetie! :cute:

Ohh and I wanted to say I made this with green enchelada sauce and it was amazing. I have never been excited about straight enchilada sauce red or green, and the creaminess of this was perfect. Thanks hun.


when I boil up a bunch of chicken i have a simple chicken enchilada recipe that i love to make. i mix the chicken up with some cumin and garlic, salt and pepper and a can or two of chopped green chilies. make the sauce by mixing evaporated milk with canned green enchilada sauce. spread a little sauce in a glass 9 x 13 pan, then a layer of flour tortillas, a layer of the chicken, some grated monterey jack cheese and some sauce. then tortillas again, chicken, cheese, sauce. i end with a layer of tortillas and then the remainder of the sauce gets poured over the whole thing. bake in a 350 degree oven until the sauce is bubbly around the edges. sprinkle the top with another layer of monterey jack and return to the oven until the cheese is melted.

Linda... I sincerely don't know if I have pics of all my spreads. I think I may have forgotten some along the way. Everyone could post pics of their moleys after they recieve them if they wanted... That way folks who forgot to get a scan could snag the pic if they wanted to... :unsure:

I'm sort of happy we are done, although I really enjoyed this and I do feel like my drawing skills have improved a lot and was challenged with all of the themes. I'm excited though to spend more personal time with my art this coming year and not trading it all away. I have very little of anything I've made for myself.

Charlie Brown, When I first started AFA my husband was bummed at the idea of me giving away all my art. He pushed me to make paper copies of all (well nearly all) of my art before I trade it. I actually have paper copies of most of this group. My copier sucks so I make my copies in town (40 miles away) and had to mail a couple of them before I cot the copies.

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe a hostess only get's hosting iTrader if they were responsible for receiving/mailing out the players items. (like if we'd all mailed her our books and she mailed them back to us)
