Here are my first two. Somehow I've lost one :no:

The first one is called Paris (Traded) and the second one Dream. Both are layerd collages using either matt or gloss acrylic gel medium. The backround for dream is Twinkling H2o's on oriental rice paper and crinkled and stamped image. The background for Paris is vintage pattern tissue crumpled and distressed with distress inks.

Paris is now Traded but Dream is still available.

Gone Postal - Traded

I love working with magazine images, too....finding the perfect one is like finding gold, isn't it? *s* I'm in a minimalist frame of mind...and finding images that work together for my idea sure is time-consuming. It doesn't help that I have shoeboxes literally filled with cutouts I've collected since the 80s, lolol.

Anyway here are two more, and I'm working on two others I hope to get up this evening....and then there's all day tomorrow!!! WOW!

The first is called the Courage of Mothers, and it has a patchwork quilt background that seemed like a bright idea, lol, and played heck with the images over it. The second is called Enid Just Knew...and I adore it. I had wanted to use the image of Enid and her fellow as the centerpiece but then found the rosepetal and thought that was just perfect for Enid. She's the kind of girl who'd have picked up a fallen petal for a remembrance rather than snipping an entire rose....LOL

Note: lousy scans, sorry. The frame is complete on Mothers and the saying on Enid is "...the beginning" and is not cut off.

It's at this crazy dark dusty hole-in-the-wall thrift store, where all the clothes are 50cents! I was STOKED to find it. I haven't had any charms to play with yet! Now, I can go wild! The letter holders work really well for 3 ATCs, too!

went to do the grocery shopiing yesterday...and at the supermarket they had a set of 16 paper edgers, 6 corner edgers,18 punches in a sturdy carry case all made by Fiskars for only $60..boy am I happy..
them mum went to the Mall and got me 262 unmounted rubberstamps for $39..I am in crafting Heaven..:D

K-mart...it's those See- D's ones....they come in cd covers 8 intotal, plus they had a stand to stack them in, some acylic blocks, an ink pad and a stamping mat..

Hmmmmph! I got myself all ready, paper, images, etc .... not much glue. Sent HMT to store for Pritt Gluesticks and milk, he eventually comes back with 4 bags of groceries and glue sticks for my glue gun! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! So I made a few till the glue ran out and then I started painting some.

so yesterday whilst I was shopping they had a demo of these knives..guaranteed to cut anything and never go sharp..so we bought some..anyway today I decided to make some Potato and leek soup...and of course use my new knives...when i bought them I forgot the family joke..never let me near sharp things for as sure as chooks lay eggs I'll cut myself....so what did I do?? Hmmmmph! I got myself all ready, paper, images, etc .... not much glue. Sent HMT to store for Pritt Gluesticks and milk, he eventually comes back with 4 bags of groceries and glue sticks for my glue gun! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!! So I made a few till the glue ran out and then I started painting some.
I'm not a happy bunny.

Answer to the question about trading outside of the collage-a-thon (from our lovely Jean, thanks!):

The collage-a-thon is a designated time for making and trading collage cards. However, you can trade them with anyone you wish, keep them for yourself, use the CAT for making collage cards for swaps or live trading sessions or whatever you want!

Generally, if they are going to be traded, we give the collage-a-thonners first dibs - if the person who requests it has something we want in exchange. I've traded cat cards for cat cards, and I've also traded with people who didn't want any of my cat cards so I made something special for them. Whatever works!
