Painting Without a Brush; open media, due August 30
You may be asking yourself: Whaaaaaaat? Fear not--I have had oodles of fun over the past year painting with unconventional tools!
Just a few examples: credit cards (cut into various widths--I use those AARP cards they keep sending me LOL), rubber combs, fingers, spattering, pouring, sponges, crumpled paper or waxed paper, kitchen implements, fabric with weird cutouts (I used socks), straw. Handles of things make different sizes of dots. You get the idea. The sky's the limit!
If you pour and/or spatter, I suggest that you don't try to pour or spatter paint onto a 3.5 by 2.5 area. Instead, try making a large painting and cut out the most interesting parts! Just a thought.
Try to challenge yourself by using a different implement for each card. Embellishments are fine, but don't obscure your gorgeous paintings too much. Most of the card should be composed of paint. And layering is SO great!
You can layer paint while preserving the layer beneath. Just let the first layer dry, spread gel medium over the surface and apply the second color.
Be sure to list your implement(s) on the back!
Your ATCs:
- should be 3.5 by 2.5
- should have your 'real' world name, user name, swap name, implements used and location on the back.
- should arrive by the due date. If they are not received by then, and you don't withdraw via the forum, alas, I must return them and leave neutral ITrader.
Host cards, as always, are optional, but I LUVVVVV getting them!
Mailing:
U.S. Please include an SASE with your cards.
International: Please include a self-addressed envelope. It costs me $1.36 to send your returns, so please PayPal me that amount or put the equivalent in U.S. stamps on your SASE.
Once you receive your returns, please leave me an ITrader and 'you rocks' for players whose cards you receive.
