Due Back in Hand by: September 1, 2018
Withdraw terms: NOT ALLOWED - be aware - LONG TERM COMMITMENT!
We are full!
Canadian/US players only for this Moley swap. (Note: I will be using a moley rotation where each player has to mail only once to Canada)
Materials required: One blank Japanese Moleskine accordion style pocket album. Approximate size is 3.5" x 5.5". Available at Amazon.com and at MoleskineUS here. http://www.moleskineus.com/japanesebook.html
Requirements to Play: (http://atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10827)
Because these type of swaps require a huge, very long-term commitment of time and resources, and because it is absolutely heartbreaking when a journal goes missing (unfortunately, it happens), there are special requirements for participation in a swap of this type.
You must:
* Be an actively trading AFA member (defined as: positive iTrader across 2 swaps in the last 3 months)
* Have 3+ months in good standing (no neutrals or negative iTraders)
* Have an iTrader rating of 25+
* Be willing and able to do your very best work on a strict, inflexible time line, over a long period
* Be willing and able to complete the set number of journal pages in the themes chosen by your fellow participants depending on the journal group guidelines
* Have the cash resources necessary to ship the journals around the world using First Class or Airmail. Tracking is not mandatory, but could be suggested
It is also mandatory that you share your mailing address, a phone number, and a contact person to the host. This is to be sure no journals go MIA - info will only be shared with your fellow Moley members only.
You're responsible for:
• Choosing and explaining your theme. Each artist will choose their own theme, color scheme/do and don’ts, and special instructions for their own moley’s. You may choose "No theme" if you want participants to "follow their muse."
• Creating a three (3) page spread in each journal you receive.
• Include at least your name, username, and date completed on the back of your spread.
• Shipping to the next artist participant. Use a well padded bubble envelope, sturdy box or a small Flat Rate Box.
• Paying for First Class mail is MANDATORY and tracking/Delivery Confirmation is recommended (we want to keep an eye on these precious moleys).
Artist Instructions:
1. Decorate the covers, if you choose. This may be completed either before or after the journal travels through the rotation. Some prefer to decorate before, to establish theme, palette, and mood. Some prefer to decorate after, to prevent damage to cover art. You decide!
2. Please include: (1) Your real name and address; (2) your username; (3) your assigned "travel-plan"; (4) a sign-in area for artists; and (5) any special instructions; in the two opening pages of your book - which you should also decorate.
3. In addition to decorating your opening, informational pages, please create the first, 3-page spread in your own Moleskine journal. Yet another opportunity to establish theme and give the other players an idea of what you are looking for.
4. Be sure to "fix" your art well, to prevent smudging. Allow plenty of time for drying before shipping. Wax/parchment paper between pages is a great idea.
5. Please communicate regularly via email, PM, or preferably, in this thread, whenever you have (1) received or (2) shipped a book. Include tracking numbers. We're all investing a huge amount of time, talent, and care in this project, and we want to see everyone's Moleskine journal home safely. Showing up in the thread at least twice a month is part of the deal. Let the other players know that you are still active!
6. In the past there have been issues with journals piling up with one player who is unable to keep up due to unforeseen circumstances. Please communicate to the group if you find yourself falling behind. There are several ways to work around that but we can't help if we don't know what's going on. Communication is essential!
7. Please be sure to mail these journals at the post office personally. There have been incidences in other groups of journals being placed in a player's personal roadside box for mailing and having it stolen.
8. Do avoid adding bulky stuff to the moley to make sure that no damage occurs during travel.
9. Do try to work in the journal as is if possible, however, if you artistic style is not suitable to the moley paper (e.g. watercolour) a tip-in is allowed. Just avoid paper that will add excessive bulk to the moley (i.e. prevent the moley from closing) and use paper that can handle repeated folding.
10. Most important: Be creative, do your very best work, stretch yourself, and have a blast! Oh, and try to show your art in the thread - we all love to share in the fun!

We will be following this mailing rotation, so that the expense of mailing is spread out and no one person has to incur it all, and yes it makes it more confusing. You will get a moley from a different player each month, so your art is never following the same artist order in any of the books. If in doubt where to mail next, post to the thread, together we'll figure it out.
NOTE: these are the paths the moleys take. Look up the players' moley in the list below, and the name that comes after your username in that line, is the next mailing destination. (each month you will need to look up the moley path)
BLUE = HOME
ORANGE = TRAVELLING (Moley en route to next player)
MAGENTA = RECEIVED (Moley received as is being worked on)

1. Miss M
Theme: Geisha
Any and all things Japanese Geisha. Your spread should depict at least one Geisha, doing something you think a Geisha should/would do. (does not have to be a traditional geisha activity) Stylize your Geisha as you wish: you can choose a traditional depiction, or not and get creative! The two things that make me think "Geisha" are the beautiful kimonos and the elaborate hair.
Do's: I prefer HD/HP, but I do appreciate well done mixed-media. Do what you do best.
Don'ts: Nothing R-rated. Please no unaltered magazine/collage images, stickers, bulky/raised embellishments or "white" backgrounds.
2. TF Balding
Theme: Art Nouveau Fantasy Creatures & Candy
mermaids, hippocampi, fairies, dragons, gryphons... Any type of fantasy beings enjoying your favorite candies in an Art Nouveau setting.
Do's: Use any media you are comfortable with, just have fun & be creative. I love bright bold colorful scenes! Spreads can be three separate panels or one long panel (whatever makes you happy). Artistic nudity is lovely.
Don'ts: No unaltered magazine/collage/scrapbook type bits or stickers for focal images please. If you use them for other elements please make them your own, but avoid ugly white sticker borders (they really kill the aesthetic). No blank white backgrounds. No bulky bits please. NO LOOSE GLITTER. Nothing religious or political.
3. aaeshelman
Theme: Little Known Grimm Fairy tales
Each artist will choose a fairytale from a list of 10 (one for each artist) which will accompany the moley. When you choose a title initial it so there are no repeats.
Do's: use watercolor, color pencil, graphite, etc.
Don'ts: use stickers, collage, etc. and please no nudity although I have no issues with artistic nudity I have young children who will want to share in my moley when it returns.
4. kentuckydakota
Theme: "What's Your Line"
Take a line from a movie that sticks with you, resonates, is picturesque, is humorous. Those lines that you quote along with the characters, or rewind to hear again. Write it on the page. indicate where it came from (character, movie) on the back or front. And illustrate it as you see fit.
Do's: Treat it as you treat your own book and make art you would be thrilled to receive. Beyond that it's up to you.
Don'ts: I don't do R rated so- no cussing, no nudes, and definitely no cussing nudes!
5. angelmuz
Theme: The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit movies
I would ask that each artist chose two people from my list here and use these two characters in their drawing ( you can use more than two). Once a character is used, I would request that the next artist chose at least ONE new character from the list that has not been used yet. ( so I don't get lots of repeats of the same character).
List of Characters: Sam, Frodo, Arwen, Aragon, Legolas, Gimli, Faramir, Eowyn, Boromir, Pippin, Merry, Thorin, Bilbo, Fili, Kili, Galadriel ,Gandalf, Tauriel.
Do's: As far as medium I love the realistic look if one is able to draw that well ( I am not, but I will try my best.) Otherwise, I would appreciate hand drawn/painted for THIS moley. Tip ins are OK. Feel free to make whatever background you want and use quotes from the book or movie if you wish to.
Don'ts:
6. Bluesky
Theme: Mermaids
Sea wisdom or mermaid thoughts would be lovely to incorporate. Be colorful.
Do's: Adding light mixed media is great but not manditory.
Don'ts: No white backgrounds
7. Tandy
Theme: Dogs Misbehaving
I have 5 dogs.currently have two purebred Malteses, a Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel Poodle mix), a Cocker Spaniel mixed with who knows what, and a poodle mixed with who knows what. Feel free to use these breeds or any other breed as I truly love all dogs.
Do's: HD/HP. Mixed media is okay. Use lots of color. Fill the three page spread with one scene (not 3 individual scenes). Feel free to have multiple dogs and breeds on your spread. Make sure your dogs are misbehaving! Be creative and have fun. The sillier the better. BE CAREFUL with your materials and protect the other artwork and blank pages while working on your pages (in the past I had someone get a bunch of gesso on the pages I was to work on and watercolor doesn't work properly over gesso).
Don'ts: I prefer no collage, stickers, glitter, glue, etc. No occult/Wiccan/evil themes or depictions.
8. miss
Theme: Sock Monkeys
Anything goes, as long as it includes a sock monkey. Sock monkey portraits, scenes, poems, stories, whatever! The sock monkeys can have other, non-sock monkey friends if you'd like.
Do's: I prefer HD/HP. I kind of like the idea of each artist doing three separate panels rather than an interconnected spread, but if you have a good idea for a spread, go for it. I love whimsical.
Don'ts: No stickers. No plain white backgrounds. Nothing political or religious (I was going to add pornographic to that, but than I tried to think of what an x-rated sock monkey might look like...). Please no sock monkey characters based on real people/characters.
9. TriLov
Theme: Mushroom Houses
One house or several houses, a whole village if you'd like, but please use up the whole page.
Do's: Use color! I love colorful scenes. Any medium you are comfortable with.
Don'ts: no raised embellishments. some stickers are ok as long as they are not the main focus.
10. theweavershand
Theme: Beatles songs
Each spread should illustrate the lyrics of a song written and popularized by the Beatles.
Do's:
Don'ts:

Oops, just saw where no tip ins are allowed. Not sure how I can watercolor on a reg. moley. Let me think about this
TF Balding
08-13-2017, 11:13 PM
I myself am not opposed to tip ins to accommodate artists who need them if it helps.
Miss M
08-14-2017, 07:53 AM
Welcome aaeshelman and kentuckydakota! :)
There is still a little time before we have to nail down our themes.
Miss M
08-14-2017, 08:15 AM
Okay, I'm busted! You caught me, I cut & paste the same rules a number of previous moley swaps used:embarrassed:
Lilbad, I'd personally love to have your art in my moley! But I know what you mean about the paper. I think that rule came about as not everyone liked the discontinuity of the paper.??? (a long-time players will have to correct me)
If no one else objects to a tip-in, I don't mind either, and the rule can be bent to accommodate the art. I just assume no one really wants a whole book full of tip-ins?! ;)
My only request would be that the watercolour paper you choose be not so bulky the moley can't close properly and that the paper can handle repeated folding well. 140lb paper is probably too bulky for the moleys. I know 90lb is easily available in sheets, and watercolour pads (opposed to blocks) are thinner too.
You would still have to mail out individual moleys every month as per the rotation.
Does that help?
kentuckydakota
08-14-2017, 11:43 AM
I have no problem w/ tipins. I've even contemplated replacing the paper in my moley before w watercolor paper. It is an awkward paper to paint on. But not everyone uses paint so I've never done that. I have cut out a three page section and substituted replacement pages in watercolor though and that worked really well. Didn't make the book any thicker.
Miss M
08-14-2017, 12:11 PM
Excellent, we have someone who has done it. Lilbad, do you want to join now? :D
I will also update the rule, so more of a preference for working in the book, but if the art style really demands a different paper a tip-in will be allowed. Kocher with everyone?
angelmuz
08-14-2017, 09:11 PM
I would love to play. I like tip ins for my book, have no problem with that at all. I have to come up with a theme now eh?
Miss M
08-14-2017, 09:54 PM
Welcome aboard angelmuz! Yup, you need to come up with a theme.....or you could just be risque and go for artist's choice :D (wait a minute, that might be hard...what am I saying?)
Alright, I will amend the rule!
kentuckydakota
08-14-2017, 11:52 PM
I love the suggestion that angelmuz should go risque (rather than risky). That got the giggles started! :biglaugh:

As much as I love my moleys and playing in a swap, I think I will pass. The reason is we are gone most of the winter and I wouldn't trust the post office to forward those lil treasures to us in AZ. Dang it! I will keep watching you all and enjoying your art, and ruing the loss of another gorgeous keepsake. Cheers.
Excellent miss! I'll interpret that as a you wish to join and I've signed you up (correct me if I'm wrong!)
Yeah, I'm pretty sure that was me committing :)... Now I have to see if I can dig out the moley I bought ages ago, and figure out a theme...
Miss M
08-16-2017, 05:18 PM
Lilbad, if you don't have a regular address, then yes, it's probably better not to risk the moleys :) Thanks for checking out the thread!
Miss, just double-checking :)
I believe I have decided on my theme. Check out post #3.

Question: if we do tip-ins, what is the best way to put them on?
The one time I put a tip-in in a moley, I cut the paper away, leaving 2 cm tabs to glue tip-in to. This was in my moley, so I was okay with it.
Maybe some of the seasoned players that have added tip-ins before can pipe in with their experiences?

I've set up the Moley Travel plans and hopefully I've gotten it right. I've never followed this rotation before.
Just so that I understand how this works....
1. first mail out I will mail my moley to theweavershand. I will be getting a moley from TF Balding
2. I will then mail out TF's moley to aashelman. I will be getting a theweavershand's moley from TriLov.
3. I will then mail out theweavershand's moley to miss. I will get aaeshelman's moley from kentuckydakota
....etc, etc.
Is my understanding correct? I look at the schedule for who's moley I have, and that's who I mail to next.
TF Balding
08-19-2017, 01:30 PM
I think you've got the idea Miss M. :)
Your moley will follow the A•J•B•I•C•H•D•G•E•F•A route (with each letter corresponding to the sequential player number). You being Player 1 look for A on the list & that will tell you who's moley you'll receive next/where you'll mail to next (also the handy travel plans in each moley help keep things straight).

I would like my theme to be Beatles songs. Each spread should illustrate the lyrics of a song written and popularized by the Beatles.

My moley came today! Can't wait to get started. but, I'm still a bit confused on tip-ins. I want to use better paper but don't want to ruin the moley.
Miss M
08-21-2017, 02:41 PM
What is confusing, TriLov? (i.e. could you be more specific:) )
TriLov
08-21-2017, 02:55 PM
Am I attaching a whole 3-page spread(of other paper) on top of the 3-page paper in the moley? If yes, then do we glue it on or use washi tape...or...?
Miss M
08-21-2017, 03:31 PM
In the end, I'm going to recommend that you check-in with the specific owner of the moley of how they'd like it done.
Personally, I would cut out the moleskine 3-pages leaving a 2 cm "tab" on each side (meaning you cut away 9.5" and not the full 10.5") and glue in the tip-in to each "tab". If you weren't comfortable doing this, then I'd request you leave it loose, the other please should skip those three pages and I'll glue it in when it makes it home :)
If you don't know what I mean by tab, unfold the accordion paper and look at the wrong side. You'll see it's not 1 long sheet, but rather several sheets glued to together in such a way to make it look seamless from the front. You can see "tabs" where it was glued together. When I did my moley tip-in, I mimiced this tab.
kentuckydakota replied she did the same thing I described above. If anyone else has a way of doing it, please pipe in!
TriLov
08-21-2017, 04:02 PM
Oh I see! I get it now. I did pull out the full sheet to see what you were talking about it and it makes sense now. so, all I'm gluing are the tabs. Ok, then, I may try that with my first page.
Thanks for explaining! I've only been in one moley exchange and tipins weren't allowed so I never had to look into it.
Miss M
08-21-2017, 04:03 PM
LOL, I'm glad that made sense!

I may just replace my pages with a better mixed media paper before I mail it out. That way others won't have to worry about tip ins and can just go to town with a paper that's more art friendly.
And I'm still ruminating on themes. I'm having trouble narrowing it down. I might just go with "My Favorite Things" as a theme, and add a list and let artists pick from that. But give me another day or two to see if inspiration strikes before locking that in.
Miss M
08-22-2017, 09:18 AM
No problem kentuckydakota. We have 2 months before the moleys mail out, so there is still time...that being said though, it would be preferable from the hosts point of view to have the themes in place in the next two weeks :)
Still mulling my theme, too... Nothing seems quite right...
Miss M

Is landscape standard or should we note in out Dos/don'ts what we prefer?
Did I miss your question?
I think most people usually do it landscape, however, if you want to ensure that you can always add it to your do's/don'ts.
TriLov
08-22-2017, 02:12 PM
Oh yea, I forgot I even asked it! LOL
That's what I thought, that most do it in landscape. I'm ok with either.

The Great Moley Paper Debate!
You have me thinking I may try that myself...hhhhhmmmm, I have a giant pad of Canson Multi-media paper (the blue cover), it's not too thick, but definitely more versatile than moley sketch paper. Maybe this weekend I'll test out how it work with copics and watercolours. I know you can do acrylic on it easily, but I thought too wet watercolour still made it buckle bit.

Hi gals, I guess I am going to go with my all time favorite theme... The Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit movies
I would ask that each artist chose two people from my list here and use these two characters in their drawing ( you can use more than two). Once a character is used, I would request that the next artist chose at least ONE new character from the list that has not been used yet. ( so I don't get lots of repeats of the same character).
As far as medium I love the realistic look if one is able to draw that well ( I am not, but I will try my best.) Otherwise, I would appreciate hand drawn/painted for THIS moley. Tip ins are OK. Feel free to make whatever background you want and use quotes from the book or movie if you wish to.
List of Characters:
Sam , Frodo, Arwen , Aragon, Legolas, Gimli, Faramir, Eowyn , Boromir, Pippin , Merry, Thorin , Bilbo, Fili, Kili, Galadriel ,Gandalf, Tauriel.

So I have been thinking about the particulars of my theme "Little known Grimm fairytales.
Details:
Each artist will choose a fairytale from a list of 10 (one for each artist) which will accompany the moley. When you choose a title initial it so there are no repeats.
Do: use watercolor, color pencil, graphite, etc.
Don't: use stickers, collage, etc. and please no nudity although I have no issues with artistic nudity I have young children who will want to share in my moley when it returns.

Theme: Dogs Misbehaving.I have 5 dogs.currently have two purebred Malteses, a Cockapoo (Cocker Spaniel Poodle mix), a Cocker Spaniel mixed with who knows what, and a poodle mixed with who knows what. Feel free to use these breeds or any other breed as I truly love all dogs.
Dos: HD/HP.

Ok, I've honed in on a theme for my book. I was watching a Lord of the Rings marathon with my son this week and one of the characters was describing what it felt like to be old- “I feel thin, sort of stretched, like butter scraped over too much bread.”
It made me think first what a poet that author was to capture that feeling so beautifully and then to think of all those lines I've heard over the years that I've wanted to frame and hang on my wall so I wouldn't forget them or lines from movies that have snuck into, and stuck in, my family's conversation.
So my theme- "What's Your Line"- Take a line from a movie that sticks with you, resonates, is picturesque, is humerous. Those lines that you quote along with the characters, or rewind to hear again. Write it on the page. indicate where it came from (character, movie) on the back or front. And illustrate it as you see fit.
Do- Treat it as you treat your own book and make art you would be thrilled to receive. Beyond that it's up to you.
Don't- I don't do R rated so- no cussing, no nudes, and definitely no cussing nudes!

I realize that this moley group is full, but I'm trying to figure out this whole moley swap thing. I've never done one, but it sounds like so much fun!
Would you mind answering a couple of questions?
*What type of moleskine do you use? The link in the first post didn't really take me to a picture of one of these accordion type notebooks. I can't visualize what they are.
Any ordering info would be appreciated.
*The whole mailing routine sounds so complicated. This type of swap is a huge responsibility, so I'd want to be sure I understood everything beforehand.
Well, if I had more questions I can't remember them, so any help would be great! Thanks! :)

I order mine through Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Moleskine-Japanese-Pocket-Classic-Notebooks/dp/8883701046/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1506318549&sr=1-2&keywords=moleskine+japanese+album
hopefully that link will help.
It is a 10 month commitment that requires lots of communication and cooperation but its worth it.
there are several different ways to do the travel plan. this one is a little more complicated than some but works well when you have international mailers in the group because it spreads out the cost and doesnt require the same people to pay the higher postage every month. in some you simply mail to the same person each month and the journals literally just move in a circle.
i hope that helps.

Hi plumhill2001! The ordering sites don't have good pics of what the inside of the book looks like. This site gives you a peak inside (of course with some art too!)
http://www.moleskine.com/gb/news/japanese-albums-relay
And if you look through the previous moley threads, as theweavershand, explain not all the travel plans are like this one. (thanks theweavershand!) And yes, the first time I did a moley I was initially a little overwhelmed, but after a couple of books I got the hang of it and it's not so bad :)
plumhill2001
09-25-2017, 02:52 PM
Thanks TWH and Miss M! I've added the Moleskine to my wishlist over at Amazon so I can find it later.
One more question (for now): The instructions say we are to put our username and other info on the back of our 3 page spread. Does this mean that art is only done on one side? In other words, when the whole accordion is stretched out there is art on only one side and the other side just has our username info?
Oh, another question: The mail by dates. Is that the day you actually put it in the mail to the next person, or the date it needs to arrive by?
I'm sure I can figure out the whole travel plan thing with the help of my compadres when the time comes. ;)
Thanks again! :D
Miss M

Keep watching this thread, as since it's almost October, players will start sharing their initial travel pages and first spreads and you can see examples. Alternately, I have my previous moley pages in my gallery under book journals. I have my sign in and first spread in there. My sign in was on the inside front cover, my first spread was the back of the first page plus the next three accordion pages. After that each player does three accordion pages. This makes more sense once you have a Japanese album in your hands.
You can sign/username/date etc the backside of your spread (some players explicitly request it), but there is also a "sign-in" page, usually inside cover.
Yes, when you stretch out the accordion, art is only on one side.
Yes, the mail date is the date you should to mail the moley to the next player, which is the same date each month. Travel time depends on how long it takes to get to its destination. For eg. I would assume a two week travel time between Canada and US. So that leaves me two weeks to work on the moley before I need to mail out again. US to US could be faster, so you'd have more than two weeks to work on the moley.
International mailing could take upwards of 4 weeks depending on where in the world, so the once a month mailout doesn't work and why I limited location for this one.
Hope that helps! :)

This is my first page for the Grimm Fairy Tales. I have created a mini zine for all to sign in on as you create your pages. It will be located in the little envelop in the back of the moley. I would like for us to go in order so the zine acts as the table of contents.
Argh, I keep promising myself I'm going to commit to a theme, and then I don't... By the end of the week, I promise!

Gah! Sorry this took me forever...
Please no sock monkey characters based on real people/ characters.

Soooo guess who lost their own moley for like TWO WEEKS (on my art table of all places. It was RIGHT. THERE. The entire time.)??? *derp* I'm awesome sometimes. I had been working on my spread & I figured out that cats? Love it when you drop accordion pages. So I set it aside & it got buried in my tizzy to finish up last minute Halloween deadlines. I found it tonight & I finished inking 1 page. I'll be doing my best to get my bits finished on time, but I hope y'all won't be too offended if I don't get it all exactly complete. I swear I am better with other people's books.
Also, this is one of the few art projects I'm taking on until at least January. My job is a bit rough on my hands from mid-August through Christmas (I cook peanut brittle in a candy kitchen). I'm actually really thankful for the tight schedule as incentive to keep my hands moving, but I might not be very active in the thread (aside from required check ins) until after Christmas. I'm here & I check my messages regularly though, so no worries. :) OH!!! After Christmas I have the luxury of taking my art to work to play with. As I said before, it IS a candy kitchen. We cook with nuts. Lots & lots of nuts. Does anyone in this group have any allergies?? I don't know how sensitive those allergies are & I don't want to accidentally kill anyone by taking a moley to work before I pass it along!!!
Miss M

Howdy folks! Sorry, I've been a little scarce...I'm in the middle of a whole bunch of house projects I have been putting off for a couple of years. (LOL, I have the energy and my back is finally stronger, so I guess the really gorgeous fall has given me incentive to do all the outdoor chores) Right now I'm cleaning out/painting/rebuilding-the-shelving in the garage. I've been trying to do a little bit each day so I don't hurt/tire myself out too much, so I haven't been in front of the computer as often as normal.
We have a day and a bit to go! I'm very much looking forward to getting this whole round of moleys started :jiggy:

I am addressing my envelope as I speak/write. However, I did opt to upgrade my paper for a better art experience for everyone. Since my paper is thicker than the original I couldn't fit as many pages in my accordion so I won't do a full 3 page spead. I just did a one page spread. Everyone else can do 3 pages though.

Me too! I swapped out the moley paper with Canson XL mixed media paper, so we'll see how it goes and if people like the paper. It wasn't bad with watercolours, but I don't think there's any cotton in there at all, so wet-in-wet gets a little soggy and takes verrrrry long to dry by itself. (but it took the watercolours better then the moley paper, and not as much bleed through with the copics)

Okay, not a stellar start to our moley swap as only three books have been mailed on the first mail out date, and I have an update from another two players. So half the group is already MIA. (Thanks to those who posted!)
Please, please, please check-in on the thread on the mail out date and give an update. (I'd prefer to be an executive assistant for this swap, rather than an enforcer, but I will follow AFA guidelines if necessary)
A reminder, refer to Book Journal Guidelines (http://atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10827), players are expected to post regularly (i.e. once a week). I know life gets busy, especially this season, but minimally DO post
- when you've mailed on the 1st of the month (and if there is a tracking #) or
- if you are running late on the 1st, and again when you do mail out
- when you've received the next moley
These swaps have really gone awry in the past. A few regular posts just lets everyone know everything is on track and people don't have to needlessly worry about their moleys.
I hope that was my only rant on the topic :)

Isn't what they say about kids, that if they are "rough" (meaning fussy and colicy) as babies they grow up to be quiet teens? I'm going to apply that logic to this swap :)
I'll let TF weigh in on her schedule and what/when she can accommodate. If it comes fast to me, them maybe we can still get it to her by mid-month.

Amy that looks totally cool! Hopefully that back gets better soon and that you aren't over-taxing yourself :)
Thanks folks. The doc says I should recover quickly, but I am taking it easy. I don't want to mess around with a knock on the head. I don't think I want to drive today as I'm still feeling pretty tired and I have yet to see how good my concentration is today.

Hey everybody! Just checking in :)
Did y'all have a good Thanksgiving? Any good shopping finds on black friday shopping, if that's your thing? I find it kinda, as in Canada all the stores adopt the whole black friday sale thing, but out Thanksgiving was back in Oct... I managed to get a craftsy class I was eyeing (normally $77) for $23, but that was about as much deal shopping as I did. (And I seriously dislike going into crowded stores at this time of year)
The next moley mailout is approaching! I'm up to my eyeballs in art nouveau candy :)

Finished KD moley and she (Kentucky Dakota) will send it out for me to the next player. I am off to Canada tomorrow for a month. I have to go back and forth to keep my residency, so may not post while there as I won't have the moley. You can ask KD if the moley that I am to work on(January) is arrived, as she is at my house ( mom's home) often and she will know. I will be back in time to do the moley and mail it by the end of January. After January, I will be staying put for several months. and I will make sure to post regularly. With the fires, and the travel, I have been not communicating as well as I should. Have a great Christmas ladies!
