It seems a kitchen is a busy place during these cold winter months! We often prepare traditional food or drinks for holidays. Maybe we have special cups or plates that are only used for the holiday season. The kitchen can be a warm and cozy retreat that brings memories of years past. Kitchens have been called "the heart of the home". What comes to your mind when you think of your kitchen or any kitchen in which you've enjoyed spending time?
Let's share some kitchen memories on Artist Trading Cards.
Maybe you remember rolling out the dough for cookies, decorating gingerbread men, baking your first pie, or perhaps you have a favorite bowl that belonged to your grandmother or a recipe passed down through the generations. (Feel free to share a recipe along with your card if you wish)
I usually think of women in the kitchen but you can have men or children on your cards. And the kitchens of my imagination are often from the 1950s or 1960s. What is in your imagination?
Each card should have some elements of cooking, baking, and symbols of the kitchen or food. And having a person in your kitchen is great, but not required. . Your art can be modern or vintage.
Some items that might be included are rolling pins, cookie sheets, coffee pots, tea kettles, pots and pans, aprons, oven mitts, and more. What comes to mind for you?
Enjoy combining paper, collage elements, rubber stamping, embossing, stencils, paints and ink, found poetry, and more. Remember that flat cards will travel most securely through the mail.
You are limited only by your imagination! Please do your best work and I encourage you to try something new.
The due date is February 10, 2023
