Since there seems to be interest in this I will go ahead and get this going! Here is the idea:
Someone offers an altered cabinet card of their choice theme and medium wise, the next person who comes along accepts it and then offers their own cabinet card.

All mediums are welcome, but only send out kick ass cards that you would want to receive! Please attempt to mail within 2 weeks or otherwise communicate with the person you are sending it to. Please leave iTraders for the person who sent you the card. Please do not post if you are not willing to send internationally.

You CAN offer themes, but you are NOT obligated to!

I have a few questions. Do we need to purchase the original photographs to use or can we use scanned images from the internet? What size are the cards supposed to be?

They have to be 4 1/4 x 6 1/2 inches. This is the list Katilady supplied for things to go on them:
Elements needed is easy enough. The only requirement is that they are cabinet cards, what you add to alter them is entirely up to you! I have never done one before but I have several cabinet cards so I thought this would be a good challenge for me. some ideas are:
paint
lace
fabric
pens
rhinestones
puchinella
feathers
text
trim
german scrap
Anything else you can think of!

I don't think they need to be original photos. If you want the look of a photo you can just print it onto glossy paper so it has the appearance of a photo

I am using the original photos cause the are on thick carboard material. If you are using scanned photos the must be matted on something like matboard.

I have just purchased some cabinet cards, I have 2 sizes sml and large, does it matter which size I use? As soon as I get a bit of free time, maybe mid week, I will make a start on one, then I can join in!

I LOVE cabinet cards and would love for someone to make me one. I've got one if somebody would like it although it's not really altered in the usual way since the photo on it was so faded it was nearly gone I cut a hole right through the center and made it a double-sided work since I loved the photographer's logo on the back - lol.

I finished GS's cabinet card - family archive pictures were too small so I had to "borrow" a family member elsewhere.
