Magic Pyramid Swap
Venice Mask Theme
My first magic pyramid swap was really fun and the art was really great, so here is round 2!!
This swap is going to be simple and easy BUT the directions might seem complicated so please read them over carefully and completely before joining! :cute:
OK. Here's the idea. Using a sturdy background material (i.e. matt board, thick cardboard, heavy watercolor paper) we will construct the parts for a pyramid-shaped assemblage. The thicker the paper the better!!
You will make and decorate 4 side triangles + a square base. The 4 side triangles will be 10 cm tall by 10 cm wide, and the base square is also 10 cm by 10 cm. Which is the same as saying 4 x 4 inch.
All sides are decorated in the "Venice Mask" theme. So lots of feathers, gold and glitter!! Sounds fun, right? :)
You will keep your square base and one of your sides, at home!
You will send in to swap, 3 side triangles. I will send you 3 sides back, made by other players. You can then assemble you own magic wishing pyramid! Or jewelry-holding pyramid, or whatever you want to call it.
The sides of the triangles that will make the inside of the pyramid, should be flat and smooth, for ease of assemblage. You can add a little bit color or so of course :cute: But just keep it flat.
The sides of the triangles that will make up the outside of the pyramid should be decorated using several media and embellished! Just don't have to much hanging over the edges, please, because this will make the finished piece more difficult to assemble. And don't forget to put your screenname somewhere.
You can do the base of the pyramid like you want, you can put legs under it and add beads on the side, or whatever.
The triangle that you keep, will be the "door" to you box, i.e. the side that opens. So find a little hinge to attach it, in the meantime. This hinge will attach the square base to the bottom of the triangle. For extra fun, you might put a little door knob or handle on the triangle you keep at home. This part is up to you, totally.
When cutting your pyramid pieces, please use a ruler, straight edge and sharp exacto knife or a paper cutter, and get them cut to the exact specs! Measure twice, cut once! Please be neat & careful because this will affect how the finished pyramid looks
ANY QUESTIONS?? PLease ask if something is unclear.
Ok so. Are you with me so far? ;) Here's the rest:
1- send 3 triangles, 4 inches wide by 4 inches tall, outsides decorated in "Venice Mask" theme, insides plain. Keep one triangle for your door + your base at home. Please only send work that you are proud of and would love to receive yourself.
And please post in thread when you're sending.
2- Include a self-addressed label. I have envies enough to send them back.
3- I will cover postage (there are not many here from Holland...) If you are from the US a loose stamp would be nice, so I can use them for other swaphosts. As a hint, I collect pins from cities, states or countries. (you know, that things you put on your backpack, so people can see where you've been LOL) An extra ATC in the themes I collect or an extra triangle is also nice. But it is not required.
Last sign up date is August 1st
4- these are due to me, in my mailbox, not later than September 1st. And please notice that I'm in The Netherlands! Returns wil be mailed within a week.
5- when you get your returns, assemble your magic wishing pyramid and post a pic in this thread! If you can, I mean. This is not mandatory but I would love to see what you end up with.
