August 2008 RAK Attack!

Welcome to the August 2008 RAK Attack!
Victims info sent.



A RAK is a Random Act of Kindness, and a RAK Attack is this group of participants mailing some sort of surprise to a ‘victim’ who is selected by vote through private messages sent by you. Please try to send the name/user name of the ATCsforAll member and their address (if available) when you sign up. (Please one nominee, per person.)

This is not a popularity contest it is simply our small way of spreading cheer in our little community. This particular RAK is intended for members of ATCsforAll. If you have friends in need of a RAK feel free to open a new thread and let us know, there's always someone to step up and contribute.

One person per month, not the same person in a year. A list is maintained to assure no repeats. If you nominate someone who is ineligible I will send you a private message to send in alternate nominations. The RAK host (me) cannot be RAKed.

Who to nominate and why?
Any member who is going through a rough time and could use a smile, who has been especially helpful or accommodating, the victim does not have to be a participant in the monthly RAK, just any member of ATCsforAll.

What to Send On a RAK Attack
Anything Goes: ATCs, Arty bits, cards, Handwritten written wishes on handmade or pretty stationary, Envies, Handmade stationary for gift, Candy, cookies, Stickers, Books, Artwork, Encouraging words, Poetry, favorite quotes. You decide what to send based on how much time you have and what your budget is, look to the supplies you already have and all it will cost you is a stamp.

How Do I participate?:

1. Post in this thread to sign up

2. PM me one member nomination and their address, if you have this info, it is extremely helpful. This information is always kept secret from the participants so do not ask.

3. I will PM you all with the address of the RAK recipient and the date to start mailing out. Expect to see this info around the 15th of the month. You can only receive this information from the host (me) so please do not ask others.

This is a surprise! Please do not tell the RAK recipient-let them find out in the mail.
Please PM me if you have any questions.

Remember, the RAK is to bring a smile to somebody and show them we care.

All participants welcomed up until a day or two before the mail date provided you can still mail on that date.
(And don't forget the Make A Child Smile "MACS" also located in this forum)

But anyway, I got this humongous envie from Smokeysmom that was jam packed full of a wide variety of stuff (that girl got her moneys worth on postage, I'll tell ya).

OMG, I got 2 packages in the mail today! Does that mean I WAS really it?

Today I got packages from Mysia and Wulfcwen.

4 hand drawn colored pencil birds from Mysia (they're sooo cute), plus some cool foreign text (is that Finnish?)
and from Wulfcwen a flower ATC, a butterfly ATC (both very lovely) and a flower matchbox shrine!

This is so awesome. Thank you guys. You guys are the best. I feel like I'm totally surrounded by flowers, birds and butterflys and the best friends in the world.

Today I received a windfall. Envies from:

Ya know...I love giving, but I gotta admit, this is nice too.

My update. Another good day. I'm doing quite well really. Hubby is pleasantly surprised by how well. And I get stronger every day. I have to be careful, cuz if I over do it, then the next day I have a bad day (very tired and sore). So I'm trying to do things in small bursts.

Good thing I don't have to lift my dragons to take care of them. LOL

Wow! Yes, I must admit, it is nice to get a new surprise everyday. And today's surprises are from:

NYJunkie - a most fabulous Peaceful Woman ATC. How totally appropriate!!
MRubyjean - a citrine and pearl beaded necklace and matching bracelet (so pretty!) and some delightful papers, including some blanks that I'm pretty sure are hand marbled
JAD - a big envie of art supplies!!! Including markers and blanks and such
