May 2009 RAK Attack!

Welcome to the May 2009 RAK Attack!

A RAK is a Random Act of Kindness, and a RAK Attack is this group of participants mailing some sort of surprise to a ‘victim’ who is selected by vote through private messages sent by you. Please try to send the name/user name of the ATCsforAll member and their address (if available) when you sign up. (Please one nominee, per person.)

This is not a popularity contest it is simply our small way of spreading cheer in our little community. This particular RAK is intended for members of ATCsforAll. If you have friends in need of a RAK feel free to open a new thread and let us know, there's always someone to step up and contribute.

One person per month, not the same person in a year. A list is maintained to assure no repeats. If you nominate someone who is ineligible I will send you a private message to send in alternate nominations. The RAK host (me) cannot be RAKed.

Who to nominate and why?
Any member who is going through a rough time and could use a smile, who has been especially helpful or accommodating, the victim does not have to be a participant in the monthly RAK, just any member of ATCsforAll.

What to Send On a RAK Attack
Anything Goes: ATCs, Arty bits, cards, Handwritten written wishes on handmade or pretty stationary, Envies, Handmade stationary for gift, Candy, cookies, Stickers, Books, Artwork, Encouraging words, Poetry, favorite quotes. You decide what to send based on how much time you have and what your budget is, look to the supplies you already have and all it will cost you is a stamp.

How Do I participate?:

1. Post in this thread to sign up

2. PM me one member nomination and their address, if you have this info, it is extremely helpful. This information is always kept secret from the participants so do not ask.

3. I will PM you all with the address of the RAK recipient and the date to start mailing out. Expect to see this info around the 15th-20th of the month. You can only receive this information from the host (me) so please do not ask others.

This is a surprise! Please do not tell the RAK recipient-let them find out in the mail.
Please PM me if you have any questions.

Remember, the RAK is to bring a smile to somebody and show them we care.

All participants welcomed! Nominations accepted until the 14th of the month.

I still haven't sent my RAKs for Feb and March, but will get them ready this weekend and make them worth the wait. I had 2 surgeries 1/26/09 and still not quite myself yet. I am going to wait until I feel 100% before I sign up for anything else.

Oh my goodness..... I think Ive been RAK'ed!!!! :wubclub:

My youngest and I went to get the mail this morning out of the letterbox and it was soooo full! I wondered what why I had so much mail in there. Then I saw some of the return addie names on the envies and though to myself 'am I hosting a swap, Ive forgotten about!' and breifly started to panic! LOL

Then it finally dawned in my rather slow brain, after turning over the envies to open them, that I have been Rak'ed! And I burst into tears!

I have had a really hard time health wise over the last couple of months with still no resolution. Ive had many tests and they still dont know why my results are the way they are so they have no idea what is going on. :( This whole thing has effected my life, my family and my art.

So to receive these little packages in the mail has made my year! Thankyou sooooo soooo much, I just love this community and everyone in it! You are the best, kindest, ,most loving, funest bunch of peeps on the planet! (((((BIG HUGS)))))

OMGoodness - It was like Christmas in my letterbox today!

I RAKed Purplerealm in Indy too. I wonder if she got anything from anyone that wasn't purple? It was so cool to be able to RAK her in person. But, I don't know how she got all that stuff home!!!!!!!!!

I got raked in person from the gorgeous Lilbad, Lini and PattiM in Indy!!!!! Each gift is sooo precious, thankyou soooo much girls! :D

And yep, I did manage to squeeze everything in my suitcases....with some excess baggage to pay! LOL

I have some envies here waiting for me to open, but I have managed to catch some sort of bug on my long flights home....so I havent opened them yet. But I will in the next day or two. Thankyou soooo much everyone! BIG HUGE HUGS......
