This is an ATC swap with a difference. Not only will you be making three cards on theme but also making a booklet to hold them in.
See HERE (http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showpost.php?p=25037&postcount=1) for instructions on how to make the booklet - with thanks to Fantasy Firebird posting this article in the Art Discussions thread. You will need one insert which will hold four cards plus you will need a cover.

Please decorate the cover on theme (and decorate the insert if you wish although not mandatory).
Your cards and booklet can be drawn, collage or whatever you like. They can be whimsy, serious, comical - the choices are endless and only limited by your imagination. Let's see how creative you can all be.

You will receive three cards and one booklet in return.

Please - no dark or rude cards.

You can use any media you like except digital. Please no heavy embellishments or really bulky cards as it seems the mail machines just love to chew these up. And no stickers as the focal point of your card.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
As this is the first time I have run a swap for a booklet as well, it is an evolving project. Hence - you need to make the cover of a stiffer consistency than just paper. If you don't it won't stand up to travelling which is what the cover is designed to do - protect your cards.

And the cover should be decorated in theme.

I made my booklet cover and inners out of scrapbook - bassil paper which is much thicker and although it was a bit of a pain to fold it will stand up to plenty of wear. Hope this helps those of you still to make your booklet - PM me if you are having probs.


Now the small print - PLEASE READ

Please do your best work! Everyone wants work with effort and creativity put into it as a part of their collection.

Sub-standard work will be sent back and neutral feedback will be left if you fail to send in cards and do not communicate. I like to swap on due date so please ensure your cards arrive in time.

Mailing and Postage
• Include at least your username and swap name on the back of the cards, and on the back of the booklet so everyone knows who to give rep points to when your work is received.
• Place each card in a plastic sleeve for mailing.
• Allow yourself enough time to mail your work by the due date. Late work will be returned. It takes 7-10 days for mail to reach me.
• Please send a large return mailing label and a discreetly hidden US$2 for postage. I will take care of the return envelopes. Please do not send stamps - I cannot use them as New Zealand is not part of the USA. For those of you who do not have access to US$, please PM me for my Paypal details.

Players - when you receive your returns for the swap, remember to leave iTrader for the Host (me) and Rep Points for the people you received cards or a booklet from. I will leave you iTrader points when I receive your work. I will also link your first post to this post so that leaving rep and itrader is easy.

An extra ATC on subject is certainly appreciated and cherished but not mandatory.

I have to ask ... what's a piece of A4 paper? Near as I can figure, from the illustration it measures 12x12" ???

Ah...... I only have a centimetre ruler here at work but it is 210 cms x 300 cms. Does this help.

I went on-line - it turns out I had the measurements in cm and they should have been mm - it would have been a very large booklet LOL. - I'll go and change my original reply to you in case someone uses the measurements and then wonders why they can't get an envelope big enough :spinny:

So- this is what the converter on google gave me -
210mm = 8.3 inches
300mm = 11.8 inches.

It wouldn't matter too much if you used measurements that were to the nearest quarter inch if that makes it easier for you to measure.

Just remember to check that the ATCs fit before assembling the booklet and you will be fine. Please do not stress any over exact measurements. :)

It works ... it works ! 8 1/2 x 11 inches ... the instructions are a little vague, but I figured it out ! It really works ... wow ... I'm impressed ... nice way to build a book for traders when traveling.

Yes Ceejay, I use a similar form of this booklet when I mail returns for swaps and trades. Some of you will have received these from me previously. This is just another version made into a booklet with a cover. Over the time I have been swapping I have received all manner of ways of sending cards to me. Some good, some not so good. What really peeves me off is the ones that are cellotaped together. It takes forever to unravel them and then the sleeves are usually damaged by that time.

And it is fun to try something new with making a cover for the insert and thus protecting the cards to and from me. When I use them as mailers I make the last fold so that the pockets are on the inside and print a message to my swappers that shows on the outside.

You never know, you might like the idea and make a couple to use when sending in swap cards - they can be used over and over again - you can personalise them, include instructions, hid the $$ discreetly - include any message for the host - you get the drift......

Remember of course that the booklet must stand up to being mailed to me and then to its new owner so it is best to make the decorations as flat as possible.

Hidden Treasure, I have made heaps and heaps of these as card carriers for my swaps except I fold them 'inside out' as I have never made the cover before. I think they are fantastic and glad you found them easy to make.

I hoped to make my cover this weekend but I have been busy making paper flowers as I bought myself the Tim Holz Tattered Flowers die. The flowers are too big for ATCs but I am sure I can find a reason to use them. I have made about a dozen so far and have some more cut out ready to make.

I think the front definately and it would be great if the insides and back have at least some nice paper on them - they should not be left with a cardboard look. Up to you all how much or how little you put into it but I will try and swap effort for effort.

One thing for players in this swap - if you mail your book 'open' it will sit flatter in the envie. This may be a cheaper option postage wise. I intend to mail the returns out this way as our postage costs are very high and this will work out cheaper for me. Up to you all but I am happy either way. :D

I have gone ahead and swapped the cards and the carrierrs. I did this as a two part exerise so although you will have 3 cards from different card makers you may have the card carrier made by one of those people.
