Zoology of the Future |
| Description |
In the future there will be pigs!!!
Let me introduce to you the creature of tomorrow, today!
Great Land Pig - large herbivour
Running Pig - main predator of the Great Land Pig
Marsh Pig - solitary plant eater
Burrowing Pig - lives in burrows
Running Pig (Cursor Formidonis Porcum) - Descended from domestic pigs after the Final Great War. (It really was the last war since it led to the depopulation and eventually extinction of the human race.)The Running Pig is the apex predator of the open grasslands. They prey almost exclusively on the Great Land Pig. Approx. the size of a large dog, the Running Pig is an ambush predator. The Running Pig has a reddish brown coat with dark brown points and black spots along the spine. Tusk size and weight differentiate male from female. The Running Pig has evolved longer legs, paw like feet, razor sharp tusks and a taste for meat. They are strictly carnivorous. Running Pigs have a great sense of smell and eyesight. Using its razor sharp tusks, the Running Pig will disembowel its prey. A strong full grown Great Land Pig is safe from the Running Pig however the young, the old and the sick are fair game for a pack of Running Pigs. A pack ranges from 8 to 10 members and is made of a boar, several sows and their offspring. In a quirk of evolution, the Great Land Pig help created their only predator. With the Land Pigs rooting for food, they destroyed the woods and forest that was their ancestral home, forcing many others to adapt or die. In order to survive, the early Running Pigs began to prey on smaller pigs and slowly moved from omnivores to strictly carnivorous. |
