Kodachrome Ibis |
| Description |
Kodachrome Ibis
Watercolor on 140lb paper
Sometimes everything works out no matter how hard you try to mess it up I was good, though, and let everything dry except for one muddy puddle I managed to fix.
In case you are interested, here are the steps I used...
1. Sketch the ibis with a pencil
2. Apply liquid masque over the ibis and wait 20-30 min for it to dry
3. Wet the paper (just barely shiney is good for me)
4. Apply 3 color spotty wash over the entire card (do not worry about the horizon line). Allow this to dry. Really give some time - it has to be dry for the next step to work right.
5. I painted a thick horzion line in a dark bluish-green line, cleaned the brush, wet the brush, and then pulled the green from the line down into the bottom of the card. Don't work this much or you will get mud - it needs to be done lightly and pretty quickly. Allow to dry.
6. Remove the masque and detail the ibis. Drop in a bit of shadow in the water. |
