The miracle of a stem cell transplant
bethematch.org saved my husband's life, well that and a stranger from Germany. Overall pretty easy to donate stem cells and save someone's life. But they want 18-44 year old donors. Unless it is a sibling match.
They give the donor, 5 days of steroids and harvest the stem cells from their blood.
