To all my lovely felting friends, apologies AGAIN, for not keeping up, this arthritis thing is a killer, so much for a holiday making you feel better.

Val, it looks like I'm not going to get your page finished today. Yesterday I broke 4!!!! felting needles and have to get more. I'm going away for the weekend, so please forgive me for being late. I'll try and get the page done and a picture posted next week. I'm going to run out today and find needles -- but won't have time to work on the page.

NYJ, that is fine, I'll look forward to seeing it when it's done. Susie, I am running late with yours. I came home with an upper respiratory infection and have stayed away from the textiles until it clears...hopefully it will be done by early next week.

Don't worry, Skipper healed quickly...but there seems to be a pattern here of broken needles working on pieces for me...I should buy stock in those needles!!! (Actually I have purchased quite a few myself)

I just bought 3 packages of those Clover hand punch needles. My husband thinks he will be able to cut them down so they'll fit my machine. I sure hope so -- they will be lots cheaper than the regular ones I have to buy. I'll let you know if that works. Otherwise, I'll hand punch while I'm out of town this weekend and finish up the page on Monday or Tuesday when I get home.

Oh -- poor Skipper -- stuck with needles. My needles broke in a person!!! (keeping you in suspence, Val)

The page was getting very thick --- so they broke as I moved the fabric. Then I just punched in one place; stopped the machine; moved the fabric; punched again -- they still broke. I think one of you (can't remember who - sorry) said that needles break easily when the wool gets too think.....I just proved that.

Val -- I hope you get well. Did you get that infection on the airplane???

I have called it 'Sunrise' Where I live I can see down onto the city of Sydney. Because of the pollution the sunrises are stunning. The air is clear here in the mountains but I can see this when I walk in the morning.

Thanks Pip. I was a bit worried half way through but the end result was exactly right. It's a bit more sparkly than the pic suggests.
