Cathy, I'd suggest that you require each person to post IN this thread the day they recieve, and the day they send.

For all the participants, I'd suggest getting some bases ready to go, with the lines, postage, correct size, return address, and the 'tag, you're it' on it. You can decorate the back when you get tagged, but

Since this is a commitment (by having your name in the thread you agree to participate and reciprocate when tagged) you can leave an itrader for the person who sent to you.

Also, I think there should be a rule that you can not send to the person who sent to you (keep it spreading)!

Okay - I just read the USPS postcard requirements. 4x6 is fine, but the maximum thickness is 1/64 of an inch. I was thinking of making fabric postcards - but then I would probably need to put regular letter postage on it. Who has experience mailing handcrafted postcards? Should I stick to hand drawn/rubberstamped/one thin layer of collage??

I have mailed out of USA and we did collage but kept 'em thin. If you choose to do thicker maybe send it in a large envie. A top coat of gel medium will help a lot to keep 'em from falling to pieces.

You can mail anything as long as you have correct postage. So if you want to take a chance wih fabric you shouldn't have any problem as long as all is safely secureed. I think an envelope would probably be a good idea to ensure safe delivery.

Janet, fabric postcards sound very cool! I've received leather postcards (from TX, of course!) through the mail. I've also received a postcard made with a postcard base and wrapped in a thin sheet of copper. They all had 1st class postage on them, but if I were you I might make a sample to take by the post office and ask about the postage.

Hmmm...all this waiting has made me realize that we need more than one postcard going at the same time. Monday morning I will be mailing out -- at least 1 and no more than 3 -- more postcards. That should kick things up a bit!

Game update: Those cards didn't go out on Monday. Apparently they just laid in the spot where we put outgoing mail and were ignored. I've been on bed rest all week, today was my first day being able to leave the house, so I just noticed. Grrrrrr (insert smilie of cat-smilie hitting husband-smilie over the head with tire iron)

So, there are two in the mail box which will go out tomorrow.Attachment 33069

Please note: OY isn't on the player list. I put her on thinking she was playing, but was mistaken.
