I would love to see a swap called "Channeling Eric Carle". Anyone who is a parent out there knows who he is. If you don't, or if you want to know more, check out his website http://www.eric-carle.com/home.html. He hand paints paper and creates collages with them. The idea would be to emulate his style while incorporating your own.

In the OS, I made a poll: What should be my first swap?

    The result was:
    1. Painted/Drawned Cows (17 votes / 34.00%)
    2. Silhouette / papercut (14 votes / 28.00%)
    3. Origami (11 votes / 22.00%)
    4. Painted/Drawned Mountains (8 votes / 6.00%)

I just sent the cows today, so I plan to start the silhouette next.

I have this on my idea list - I was just waiting to finish up a couple of things...

    Here's my ideas:

    Faith
In the Style of Eric Carle
    Wacky Warning Signs
    Audrey Hepburn
    Peace Workers & Activists

And someday I want to do an ultimate ABC swap - limited to 26 players and each person has to do a card for each letter. That way you would get one of each artists work back. My mom (slrandom) said she would help me, but there is no way it is happening until after the garden harvest. But wouldn't that be fun?

ok we need a link for this, it sounds fun. And I'd love to do a swap like this. I just made a card of a t shirt I saw once, stick guy falling down stairs and it says, do not fall down stairs. It would be cool to do a swap.

Organicmama you ought to know that last year someone hosted that ABC swap and ran off with all our cards! That was 702 cards!
So if people are hesitant to join, it is because of that.

Some I'm thinking about hosting are...
    ~desert landscape
~in the style of Ted DeGrazia, a southwest artist
    ~kokopelli
~3 letter word (you make three cards and put one letter on each one)

I plan on hosting my first swap here in the next month or two.

I would love to host, but I only have 4 itrader points so far. I'm working on a lot more though. heymaggie and I were just talking about doing a one-on-one Star Trek trade but I think it would be a great idea for a larger swap as well. Would anyone be interested in hosting such a swap? If so I would sign up for sure.

    Other ideas/interests:

    1) Environmental "Speak-Out" swap (save the whales type) (maybe even made of mostly recycled materials.

    2) Nine piece set (I think there is a special name for this, but nine cards that work together to create one larger image while each card could still be interesting individually.

    3) Monk (Tony Shalhoub)

I also really like to Eric Carle idea.

Kbutts, we have so much in common. I have done a 9 card set swap and was thrilled with it. Would really love to do that again. Also, Monk is one of my favorite shows. I'd be very interested in doing a Monk swap as well. When I get caught up I may host Star Trek and Monk swaps. When I do, I'll PM you.

I was part of an alphabet swap some time ago on OS- and it was fab! We didn't send to one hostess, we sent to the next person along until it came back as a complete set. Hmmm- I'll have to see if I can find out details of that. The 'hostess' was in a sort of oversee-er capacity. Now, who was it? Nicky? Any old timers remember?

As for other themes... I'm always up for any sci-fi and fantasy swaps. Colour themes are cool (I think there was a time when there was a swap for just about every colour of the rainbow at the same time. Actually, I was in a rainbow swap then as well!!!)
Ooh- Gold/ Silver swaps would be fab.
    What else?
    Night scenes
Clouds- we all see something in the clouds- it'd be interesting to see how folk interpret what they see.
    Quotes
    Historical costume
Muppets (yeah, ok, angling for Kermit!!!)
    Seasons
    Going to go and think....................
I didnít do it. Unless I was supposed to do it. Then of course I did it!
