Welcome catladybj. As long as they fit the challenge of using the paint chip name for the theme, they'll be perfect.

So if I am going to paint my kitchen, am I going to paint it yellow, or a brighter sunshine yellow, or a muted egg yolk yellow, or a pale yellow? I can get samples of all of these colors, bring them home, and see what looks better in my kitchen.

Paint chips can be small, with 4 or 5 colors on one card, or large, with one color on one 3 x 4 inch card (which is probably what the Golden Mushroom card is)

That's a great explanation, Vicki! Check out this thread for links and some of the cards that were included in the first swap: http://www.atcsforall.com/forum/showthread.php?t=20428

P.S. I've fixed the states... abbreviations are a challenge for me. LOL!

    What a pity.
We have lots and LOTS of paint companies competing for the same business, so if a "free" paint chip sells gallons of one companies' paint over a competing companies' paint, the "free" paint chips are considered good advertising.

I am mailing you some paint chips, mariloupatch.
I was going to put them with your returns from our last swap, but I already sent those returns out, so the paint chips are getting mailed separately.

    Watch your mail.
You should still have time to sign up for this swap after getting the paint chips - if you are interested.

Oh, Helen I loved this swap. Please may I do it again? It was so fun the last time. I'm glad that someone is sending Marilou paint chips. That's difficult, so how do yo decide what color you are going to paint your walls? I have to live with it for at least a few weeks taped to the wall, then I usually decide I hate it and go and get 4 more colors to live with. It would be terrible to paint a room a color that you ended up hating.

    WOW!!!!
I thought I was the only one who did that!!!
I taped my colors to the kitchen wall, and found that the colors looked different at different times of the day as the colors got more or less natural sunlight or were being viewed under flourescent light. Looking at colors over several days in different light made a HUGE difference in what color I finallly picked.

I also didn't realize paint chips were only available in the states. I had no idea Internationals didn't have them available at every paint store, hardware store, and home improvement store. Could paint chips be called something else overseas? People must still paint walls. . . . .

Thanx for the note, Helen! Count me in. I don't have to be an "International" this time as I'll be in Florida in January and will send an envelope with my US address. I have a Jazz stamp but there is no amount on it. Is it enough?

Thanks Vicki, Helen and Nancy for the samples.
We do have small pots we use to check out the colour on the walls, but they
can hardly be called chips, and they cost about 3€. We have them in acrylic
and water paint, and they are much cheaper than what is available in art/hobby
    stores.

Some of our stores are starting to carry small pots or pouches of paint that we can use to check out the color on the walls, so maybe some day our paint chips will disappear.

But right now they are available, and free, and every time we go into the store, I pick up a few more samples.

It will be interesting to see what assortment of paint chips you get from the three of us. I bet the assortment, and the colors sent, will give you a lot of variety to create art from. I see Helen has already given you the link to additional paiant chip samples so you should have FUN creating. And you have a new challenge to use a new product background.
