Question Anyone Interested in a Gathering in Washington State?

I live in the nice rural town of Monroe, Washington, and we've got an amazing Library down here that would happily host a gathering for us- of ATC card makers/traders, and folks who might want to learn to get into it too...

I was wondering if anyone in the Seattle-ish area might want to come out here and enjoy a little social and trading gather?

Keep bumping this up so more folks see it. My feeling is there are several artists in your area that might want to play.

I say we try to set up a single event for now and discuss expanding after that goes off without a hitch.

Oh yeah, I would definately suggest a single event, just to meet up and say Hi, and generally sit around and play with ATC's... bring collections to show around or some of your own ATC's to trade to the new friends you meet there...

I would like to think of it as a very low key party- come meet fellow ATC artists, and if we hold it at a public place like the Monroe Library, we will have light snacks/coffee/tea and it would be open for the community to drop in and learn about ATC's too, if they have heard of the event!

Monroe is only about 1/2 hour drive from my house. If we have it at that library see if they would let us hang a collaborative project somewhere. Maybe we collect 3 cards from each person and mount them on a display board and donate it to the library. We can put the url for this site at the bottom as well as a short description of what an ATC is.

Ooooh, yeah, they do have a little display area right there by the doors- a locked glass case they like to show stuff off in... that'd be cool!

Lilbad: Monroe is east of Everett, Wa, and Northeast of Seattle, Wa.

If we do it during the summer I recommend August. It looks like there is another, larger, event being planned in Seattle for spring.

I haven't been to a meet up like this before. How should I prepare?

I think if you want to do a one day local meet up, just find a place to do it and invite people. Show up with some art supplies and "let it play out" .
You can make other plans at that time.
You'll want to be sure to have some table coverings (dollar tree shower curtains and some masking tape work great) and a couple garbage bags. Other than that, just start easy and it'll take off from there!
