G -18 Lighting Hearts Circle Journal Group - FULL

Due Date: 2 pages per month for 5 months in a row
Withdraw: not done since this is a long term commitment
Why: it's fun, it's rewarding and you'll receive great art from motivated players
    Number of players: 6
    Medium: Hand drawn/hand painted

Pens, Paper, Paints, Hand drawn CJ Group

As far as I can see, it has been a long time since there was a circle journal group active so lets get one going shall we?

This group is for hand drawn art, paper, paints, pens, oil pastels, and pencils of your choice. It is not for stickers, rubber stamping, embelishments, digital or photography. .

We will be doing two pages that face each other as in an open book. These pages are often one continuous picture. Size is normally 6x6 or 8x8, but can vary some as long as it is not larger than 8x8 or smaller that 4x4.

What is a Circle Journal? Read the sticky threads on top of this (sub)-Forum. And for those new to Journals, by all means - look in my gallery for examples - there are a few from the old days.

To join this group one needs +15 iTrader

As a participant you are required to:

    • check in with your Journal Group at least once a week
    • report to group when you will be away from net or out of town and where you stand on spreads at that time (VERY Important)
    • report when pages are mailed
    • report when you receive a spread and from whom
    • notify the group and your partner if you cannot mail on time
    • notify your next trading partner, if you fall behind, not to create or mail a page for you until you are caught up.

!!! Be prepare for postage costs of mailing large envelopes for 5 months in a row and possibly around the world (which makes collecting spreads for a journal even more fun)

Note: If you do not post to your group thread or to a Group Host for more than two (2) weeks, the Group Host may report you to the Moderators and your membership in the Circle Journals will go on suspension. Your name will be taken off the rotation and pages will not be sent to you. NO EXCEPTIONS. We expect active participation in all the groups.

!!! I plan to follow these rules. Communication is EXTREMELY important with long term swaps like these

    * You will be notified to PM your Journal Group Host with your FULL contact information (Name, mailing address, email address, and (all) telephone numbers).

    * A Start Date is selected either by your Journal Group Host or there may be discussion in your group.

    * Delivery Confirmation Numbers (for USA) on packages are no longer mandatory for page spreads, but if you do use them, post the # in the group thread.

    Any Questions?

Who wants to play with me for the next 5 (or 6) months?
What is your page size and theme?

After sign up I will pm you for full information.

    A) Nicky - 8x8 - African Wildlife (nature, animals, people)
    B) Corrie04 - 8x8 - sidewalk cracks and blobs made into imaginary creatures or people
http://www.flickr.com/groups/2134325@N22/pool and http://www.carlasonheim.com/sidewalk-cracks. Please note: I do not expect the sidewalk cracks that are on Carla Sonheim's page to be used. Please use any sidewalk crack or "Blob" that you find around your home or work. I was just using that page as an example.
    C) Robin - 8x8 - Whimsical Butterflies
    D) Evalila - 8x8 - Anything Fantasy (dark and gory would be okay, too)
    E) Linda4atc - 8x8 - fantasy, not real. I want you to draw something that inspires you. It could be a lovely
underwater scene with mermaids, A cool scene of a vampire entertaining in his castle, a surreal landscape full of
funny little plants and creatures. If you have an idea and are not sure just ask.
    F) Chatty - 8x8 - anything about frogs!!

Lovely to see you Robin - remember doing a CJ in 2007 together and such a fun theme!! In the old days 'whimsical' wasn't so popular as it is now...
And please do join us corrie - so nice to have people on a CJ that I haven't traded art with yet - and CJ-ing is a bit of work but so rewarding and so much fun!!!

Can the backgrounds be collages with different types of paper, as long as the main subject is completely hand drawn/painted? Or would you prefer strictly hand drawn/painted?

Ohh Count me in too, thanks for the invite. I want 8x8 fantasy, not real. I want you to draw something that inspires you. It could be a lovely underwater scene with mermaids, A cool scene of a vampire entertaining in his castle, a surreal landscape full of funny little plants and creatures. If you have an idea and are not sure just ask.

In my last CJ group I found a lot of people have created their own fantasy characters and worlds with a story behind them. That would be fun too.

Great chatty and what a fun theme!!! This means that we're full ladies... much faster than I had expected. This is going to be so much fun for the next few months.

Would those who haven't done so yet, please PM me with your FULL contact information (Name, mailing address, email address, and all telephone numbers)? Thanks!

I suggest that we will start in May - so the first Journal Pages should be mailed out on May 30? Can we all do that or is it too soon? Please let me know and also if we need an AUGUST holiday break?

We've got a number (G-18) and I have left the name for what it is.... In the 2nd post you will find the mail rotation list - There you can see who you will be doing your first spread for... (and your second, and your third.... hihihi) I'm waiting for the contact details of one of you. As soon as I have them I'll mail you an address list.

Happy drawing/crafting and don't forget to check in at least once a week. A short hello or update on your progress will be a comfort for the others - at least we know that we're all still around... and by all means DO SHOW THE RESULTS - I'm sure we all want to see what the others get too....

    Well I found this quote...

and I thought a name with something like Lighting Hearts CJ Group. Not a great name, maybe someone else has an idea?

I am pretty much open to whatever the others want for the dates and the name. LOL

LOL Nevermind. You posted While I reading art quotes. LOL
