Lurking, getting ready to start my first Art journal made from an old and slightly damaged French encyclopedia. Lots of lovely work here. When I get more practice, I hope to do some trading of the larger Art variety. Till then, I'm enjoying the view! Thank you.

Hi Wolfpax ya there has been some really cool stuff. If you are interested in larger art this is the way to go. Then you don't have to worry about damage or loss of yours or someone else s journal.

    awesome moonrose442 lets see them.

redplantlady I sure will try, but so far I think all of the pages have been leaning towards the cute, sweet and whimsey. I can not make promises.

This is my first fantasy page which is based on the fantasy novel I am writing at the moment for my MA dissertation - the faeries have swapped their own child for this fair-haired, blue-eyed baby...

Good question. As long as the page is on paper stiff enough to stand up when held on the bottom edge I think it is up to you on backing. I have received some lovely backed pages, and a couple with quotes or stories on the back. I then have to find a way to display the back as well as the front in my book. These pages do not need to be several layers thick like a chunky page, but they shouldn't be on printer/copy paper either. They are inserted in to protective pockets in a book.

I do not back my pages since the way I store my pages is back to back in a scrapbook album. (Also why I like a small signature placed on the front)

For the Journal group I am in I had some notecards with a decorative edge I wrote a note and placed it, laying open behind the page so if the recipient wanted to glue it in they could. I do add personal info on the back of every page.

All that said, Seeing the pages I've received in my last Journal group and in this swap already I am thinking to some sort of back. Maybe something I print out since I do not have a neat penmanship.
