Some of us folks are wanting to start a ring of tags so that we can enjoy art on our desks everyday. This is a MMH thread for those tags. Hand drawn and hand painted, hand stamped, or exceptional collages are all welcome.
For those of you who have never done a MMH before. You agree to make the person before you in the thread ONE of their requests. You in turn list 3 things that would make you happy and the next person after you will try to accommodate your request.
The Nitty Gritty according to AFA:
You must have an iTrader rating of +3 to start or participate in a PIF or MMH.
When setting up your PIF/MMH please require players to send out their item before accepting another/offering trade.
Encourage them to post pictures of what they have made in the thread.
Players should agree to a 2 week maximum mailing dead line, and keep in communication,
If not a Negative iTrader should be given.
No chatting in the PIF threads - this makes them really hard to follow.
NO STICKERS!
USE PRE CUT, HEAVY STOCK MANILA TAGS OR...
HAND CUT HEAVY PAPER, BRISTOL BOARD, WATERCOLOR PAPER ETC.
Size range from a # 5 tag (4 3/4 x 2 3/8) #6, # 7 and number 8 tag (3 1/4 x 6 1/4 inches) This way they aren't too small and the # 8 are a nice size for drawing on.
IF USING A GOOD QUALITY TAG IS A HARDSHIP FOR ANYONE, PLEASE PM ME AND I WILL DIE CUT YOU SOME #8 SIZE AND MAIL THEM TO YOU.
NO MESSY BACKS. IF YOUR MARKERS BLEED THROUGH, OR YOU HAVE AN EXCESS OF INK SMEARS ETC. PLEASE COVER THIS UP WITH AN ADDITIONAL LAYER OF PLAIN OR DECORATIVE PAPER.
Please give some thought to a clever title for your work and include that on the back of the tag with your user information and media.
NO WHITE BACKGROUNDS.
If you are stamping, consider doing multiple stamp techniques to create a scene or a picture. Some of this kind of work is totally awesome and would be cherished by most people.
KEEP IT FLAT. NO EMBELLISHMENTS THAT STICK UP.THIS MAKES IS AN EASY MAIL FOR ONE STAMP AND A REGULAR ENVIE. IF YOU WISH TO ADD FIBERS OR RIBBONS TO THE TOP OF THE TAG KEEP THE FLAT CAVEAT IN MIND FOR MAILING.
I did a couple of examples to get your started thinking. They are both done on the # 8 size tags. The fish are hand drawn with colored pencils, the background is inked and over stamped.
The collage tag is inked, over stamped and then collaged.
Please be aware that I occasionally have vitreous hemorrhages in my sighted eye. It can take a week to a month (or longer) before it clears up & I'm able to see again. This means that, should you trade with me in any way, you may wind up waiting for your art until my vision clears. If that happens, I'll let you know as soon as possible.
