    Talking 1:1 Handmade Jotters

Hello everyone! Change of plan! I started this thread with the idea of trading little atc booklets, but they seem to small. So here is a new 1:1 swap idea. Creative handmade jotters. I love little journals. I use them for many things , planner, art journal, watercolor sketching, daily life pictures and stories. They are easy to make and small enough to carry with you where ever you go. Wouldn’t it be fun to trade and collect journals? Most art paper comes in a 9x12 size. our journals will be around 5 x 6 1/2 when put together . Fold and cut in half a 9 x12 sheet of paper and it makes a nice jotter size. (4 by 6 1/2)

We will be trading one handmade journal for one in return

The outside and inside cover must be decorated. The cover has to be made of thick paper (watercolor paper, file folder, heavy cardstock) the cover can be decorated with embellishments like beads, machine sewn scraps, fibers, dangily things, charms.
The pages inside have to be decorated . It’s ok to have some blank pages .Think gelli print pages / Han painted pages, assorted papers, scrapbook pages, flaps, envelopes, washi tape, tabs, book pages
    add.

Here is a pintrest board I made to inspire!

Must have original artwork of yours somewhere in it. Atc, postcard, 2 page spread in the journal. the first page you must have info on it. (username, name, location, month journal was made, any thing else you’d like to

    Putting your journal together.

First start by painting your pages and choosing the papers you‘ll be binding together. Make sure all your pages are the right size. Gather your 10 sheets together . Trace your book onto the cover. Right next to the traced image trace your book again. Cut out your cover . Decorate your cover and bind your jotter together. there are many ways you can bind your book together. Here are a few you tube tutorials on how to bind your book

post who would like to trade a creative journal with me?
the first person who replies will be your partner
you have a month to complete your journal and mail it to your partner
leave an itrader for your partner when the journal has been recieved.

    Ashley,
Do the individual pages have art on them? or do you leave them blank to add ATCs as you trade?

hello everyone! came up with a new idea. Atc journals was my first idea for a 1:1 trade, but now i am thinking maybe a bigger size journal would be more fun. the journals size would be around 5 x 6.5. most art paper comes in a 9 x 12 pad/spiral book. fold the 9x12 sheet of paper in half and that will be the size of of the pages we will bind together for our journal.

we will trade a little handmade journal for one in return
each journal will have 10 sheets (total of 40 pages) in it
will will decorate the covers, hand paint some of the pages,
    would you be interested?
    i'll give more details tomorrow.

i was thinking the 4 3/4 x 6/12 size would be good because you don't have to measure anything just fold and cut a few 9 x 12 sheets of paper in half and put 10 little pages together and you have a 40 page little journal :] i'm up for trading! i'll get started on yours today :]
