Vintage APCs: Jacks - due date August 8th

Swap Due Date - August 8th
Signup/withdraw date - None, but please communicate
Number of Cards - 4:4 only
    Number of participants - Unlimited
Medium - Collage and/or mixed media

We are continuing this themed deck with Jacks. This will be a 4:4 swap - that is, you will send in a full set of four Jacks (Jack of ♥, ♦, ♣, ♠), and get a full set of Jacks in return. I will run through the full deck (Tens next, then 9s, etc), so if you stick with the series, you'll build a full vintage-themed deck in time.

If you are feeling so inclined, you may send 10s, 9s, etc to me with the Jacks, as long as you include separate return postage and a separate address label for each set!

No cards and no communication by the swap deadline will earn you a neutral itrader. I've never had need to give one out so far, please don't be the first! Late cards WILL be returned to you unswapped, using your return postage/postage funds. Please send on time and save us both some stress!

    General info:

    - Vintage themed APCs! (Altered playing cards.)
    - Real playing cards must be used.
    - APCs must be the standard size of 2.5" x 3.5". Note this is POKER size, not bridge size! (Wrongly sized cards will be returned).
    - The top left suit and number must be visible/uncovered.
    - Create cards that you are proud to sign your name to and would love to receive!
    - Send each card in individual plastic sleeves.
    - Put your name, username, location, the date, and any other info you'd care to share on the back of each card.
    - A hostess card would be gratefully received (please refer to my APC wish list in my signature), but is not necessary, so please don't feel that you have to make one.

    Mailing info:

ALL PLAYERS -- Please send a LARGE, neatly written or typed, self-addressed sticky label. (If you can't get large sticky labels, your address neatly written/typed on a piece of paper will work.) I will provide all return envelopes, so please DO NOT SEND ENVELOPES. In New Zealand, postage cost depends on the size of the envelope and I know mine are the correct size!

    POSTAGE COSTS:
    - New Zealand players - one Kiwi stamp (80 cents from July 1st)
    - Australian participants - you may send either US$2 or a $2.60 Aussie stamp.
    - International participants - Please send $2US - I occasionally receive just one dollar bill, and this is not enough to cover return postage to anywhere in the world from NZ, so please ensure there are two bills in the envelope

Please note: I don't have a PayPal account so this is not an option.
Players - when you receive your cards for the swap, please remember to leave iTrader for the Host (me) and Rep Points for the people you received cards from!

Please PM me for my address when you are ready to send your cards! Allow at LEAST two weeks for mail to make its way Down Under.

I love eye candy (as I'm sure a lot of us do!) so feel free to post pictures of your finished creations here.

    So, who wants to play?
(I will leave iTrader for you when your APCs arrive.)

For me, personally, Della, I have decided to try to understand Kiwi's obsession by watching the Wild, Wild West series to see what is so cool about it! I have only seen one episode, but I found it entertaining enough to desire to see more of it. It is actually a very good quality tv show for being vintage! In that I mean, the acting is excellent, the dialog is fun, and despite that it has some silliness to it, the creative aspects are incredible! I am a sucker for spy stories, anyway. Maybe Kiwi will get us all hooked on the show!

Here are my little "men!" Oh, I had so much fun making these cards! I had planned to create the Knights, but if you look at that little Chimney Sweep fella - I fell in love with him! He is so cute! I just want to take him home with me. He reminded me of all these things I was taught about the Luck of the Chimney Sweep from when I was a very little girl...lots of folklore there! I know that chimney sweeping was a very dangerous job, and poor little tykes hard a hard go of it in life...but this little fella, despite his soot face and bare feet, has such a cute smile!

Anyway, he got me started on creating the Jacks based upon little boys from the Victorian Era. I learned a lot of new things about Victorian Era boy clothing styles. These boys are all about 4-5 years old. Younger boys are dressed...well, in dresses! LOL And they wore long, curly locks for their hairstyles. The sailor suit was common after the infant stage, but before attending school. So I have chosen a variety of Victorian Boys from the poor chimney sweep, to the wealthy Sailor. In between is probably a Middle Class, yet very serious, boy pretending to smoke a pipe...which I decided needed to be a bubble pipe! LOL And the poor, but not too poor, farmer's son - who I am pretty sure is Jack from the Bean Stock Story. He is also a favorite, though I honestly love them all!

And then there is a new Artemus Gordon APC for our lovely hostess to add to her collection! (Which should be close to being completed, wouldn't you think?! But, hopefully, not yet - as I have been collecting all kinds of images specifically of Artemus Gordon, in all guises! )

They are wonderful cards, arcana, as always. And I can see why you fell in love with that wee chimney sweep. He's adorable! And you did a wonderful job on the Artemus card. I'm guessing I'm about two-thirds of the way through my Wild Wild West deck at present.

And Della, no beans to spill per se, I started watching WWW last year (hubby bought the boxed set) and got hooked. Great stories and great characters. OK, I kinda fell for Artemus, I admit it. But it's a lot of fun building a deck of APCs in a chosen theme. I'm also building a Doctor Who deck as well as a Hunger Games deck for my daughter. APCs are definitely addictive!
