    Withdraw By: Not Allowed
    Number of players: 10

    We're FULL!!!

FOODIE FANATICS MOLEY GROUP: All themes are free game, as long as they involve food &/or anything foodie inspired.

we will be following the atcsforall rules - as follows

    REQUIREMENTS
Because these type of swaps require a huge, very long-term commitment of time and resources, and because it is absolutely heartbreaking when a journal goes missing (unfortunately, it happens), there are special requirements for participation in a swap of this type.

    You must:
    * Be an actively trading AFA member (defined as: positive iTrader across 2 swaps in the last 3 months)
    * Have 3+ months in good standing (no neutrals or negative iTraders)
    * Have an iTrader rating of 25+
    * Be willing and able to do your very best work on a strict, inflexible time line, over a long period
    * Be willing and able to complete the set number of journal pages in the themes chosen by your fellow participants depending on the journal group guidelines
    * Have the cash resources necessary to ship the journals around the world using First Class or Airmail. Tracking is not mandatory, but could be suggested

    Additional Requirements for the Hosts:
    * Have completed hosting (5) swaps before hosting a circle journal swap. This is to give our Hosts the additional experience needed to handle a swap this long in duration
    * It is the Host's responsibility to get complete contact information for each member (real name, street address, mailing address if different, telephone numbers, email, etc.) And to PM this information to all members of the group.
    * It is the Host's responsibility to PM members who seem to be lagging behind in posting weekly and/or completing and mailing pages. If Hosts do not keep up with the members of their swap, AFA staff will assist.
    * If a player gets behind and the circle members are uncomfortable about leaving a negative iTrader, the Host shall, after notification to AFA staff of their intent, leave a negative iTrader for the delinquint player upon approval from AFA staff provided that the player:
    - has not responded to PM's from the Host despite logging in at AFA
    - has not posted to the thread for (2) weeks

Note: AFA members of iATCs can use their iATC stats to fulfill these requirements.

Limited sign ups for first-time participants. Individuals new to circle journals and book journal swaps at ATCsforALL.com can only sign up for one journal group initially. After the successful completion of their group, they are welcome to sign up for multiple groups but must check with a Moderator before signing up for more than three (3).

iTrader for players removed from a Moley group:
-If someone worked in a player's moley, and the player DIDN'T do theirs, they should receive a Negative until they mail pages, the rating will then be changed to a Neutral.
-If a player holds up a moley for more than 2 weeks past the mail out dead line, the owner can give neutral at their discretion.

    now for the fun part
we will be using the Japanese Moleskine accordion style pocket album. Approximate size is 3.5" x 5.5". Available at Amazon.com...http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/888370...=AC_SX200_QL40
& also at http://moleskine.com/us & most anywhere else that sells books/art supplies.

    Pick your foodie inspired theme!

Decorate the covers or wait till your book comes home
some like to wait to protect the covers from damage - some like to establish theme, palette, and mood by doing their cover before.

on the front inside cover please put your name, address and phone number in case your book is lost in the mail

also either in the front or the back inside covers put
    1. your username
    2. your assigned "travel-plan"
    3. a sign-in area for artists
    4. any special instructions
    5. also decorate the first three pages (the fold out ones) in your theme
this will leave 27 pages for the other nine artist to each do three pages in your book.

Allow plenty of time for drying before shipping. Wax paper between pages is a must in the summer heat!!! Please mail moleys in a ziplock type bag & use a bubble mailer to protect them!

Be sure to communicate regularly via email, PM, and in this thread
When ever you rec or send a book - include tracking numbers. They are required in case a book goes missing.

There has been issues with journals piling up with one player who is unable to keep up due to Life - please let us know - everyone understands and there are ways we can work around that if you find yourself with this issue. So please talk to me and we will come up with a way for you to finish and the books keep on moving. Communication is Key!

mail these journals at the post office personally. Don't want to chance them getting taken from the mail boxes plus that way you can be sure to get a tracking number.

you will do a 3 page spread in each book you rec. please be care of the the pages you are next too and keep your art to your 3 pages (unless otherwise noted by the owner) - post it's work nicely to keep the pages ahead and behind your art clean

***A special thank you to goat goddess & Nicky for allowing me to borrow their moley rules posts ***

    Participants & Themes:
    1. TF Balding---Theme: "In the Kingdom of the Sugar Shock Princess..." A panoramic tour of a bright & vivid realm of sweets & it's inhabitants.
Do: Create a section of this imaginary kingdom made of sweets & show us the flora, fauna &/or people who live in there. & to make each page & scenery flow into the next, please let your art spill over just a bit into the next section so the next artist can add to your section by blending it into their own, & creating an unbroken view of the realm.
Don't: Use heavy/bulky embellishments or unaltered magazine pictures or stickers as your main focal point.

    2. Grrrdjules---3 panels in a row, no carrying over onto next. Illustrate/collage a recipe. Lots of examples of recipes in the gallery. No legumes, desserts or tofu!

    3. CharlieBrown---Theme: arty/illustrated recipes. The theme of the recipes should be anything "food truck" related. It can be any type of recipe you might be able to enjoy from a food truck, which is essentially anything. A source for inspiration is http://www.theydrawandcook.com
Each person's spread does not need to merge into the next, but each persons spread needs to include a recipe. It's ok to keep it simple OR not when it comes to picking your foodie truck grub recipe. Keep in mind your space needed for recipe text. Neatly handwritten is fine, so are typed-out and securely collaged ones- you make the call on how you get it on there, just plan it out. You can do just the illustrated recipe or you can be imaginative with your recipe and include your food truck, truck foodies/fans, and surrounding city happenings. Any questions, let me know.

    4. Linda4atc---Theme: "Steampunk Village Feast" A panoramic view of the town and it's inhabitants during this festival of good eats.
Do: Create a section of this industrial gadget strewn town as the smartly dressed (steampunk) people prepare the feast. It is a happy festive occasion so there is no need for the typical monochromatic browns or grays of some steampunk art. Doing a slight overlap of pages is optional. But if you wish to use a version of an element from another page, such as a pipe in a wall, a tree, a bike or a gadget, in your page that is fine. Often towns will have similar aspects in more than one location..
Don't: Use heavy/bulky embellishments or unaltered magazine pictures or stickers as your main focal point.

    5. Kynara---Theme: "Outer Space Pot Luck" Set on a spaceship and all the different aliens have brought entrees, desserts, h'ordeuvres and/or drinks from their planet to share.
Do: feel free to make each page or set of pages from a different part/room of the ship. also, feel free to get as crazy, colorful and creative as you like!
Don't: run the pages together. You can continue the room if you'd like, but I'd like to keep it where the next person can do a separate room of the spaceship if their muse tells them too.
Please don't use heavy/bulky embellishments or unaltered magazine pictures or stickers.
*If you want to include a bit of a story about your pages on the backside that'd be great! however I don't want anyone to feel stressed/pressured to do this

    6. Mrs.Alderman---Theme: My theme is "Forest of food!" this book should be full of edible flowers, berries, herbs and fruit trees being tended by Fae! such as Fairies, antlered folk, gnomes and whatever else you may think to live in a forest. maybe a river mermaid?
no stickers or un-altered collage elements as focal points. if you use bulky things please make sure they are well protected in shipping and wont rip anything.

    7. KentuckyDakota---Theme: Food in Children's Literature.
Here are some ideas to get the juices flowing: You could go with a scene like Edmund and the Queen enjoying Turkish delight, or Lucy taking tea with Mr. Tumnus in The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Perhaps Harry and Ron eating Pumpkin Pasties and Chocolate Frogs on the Hogwarts Express. Or the banquet in The Phantom Tollbooth where everyone has to eat their words. Of course there's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, Hansel and Gretel, The Tale of Peter Rabbit all with food themes, and so many more.
I love hd/hp, though no rule on that if it's not a strength. Would love all the spreads to flow together as much as possible. I prefer no tip-ins.

    8. Angelmuz---Theme: Time Traveling Teddy Bears Picnic. So for my theme I would like folks to use the little dolls and animals on this page http://rinabears.com/index.php?PID=1 as the focus of the book and put them in various places and/or times. These are very tiny little animals and dolls so for example one might put them in a watermelon boat floating on the Seine with the Eiffel tower in the background . Feel free to use any number of the little darlings in your drawing. I don't really care that they be sitting down at a meal, they can be riding on birds munching crackers, or flying in a mini balloon over Africa with a glass of wine in hand. Basically for rules then, use at least two of the dolls/animals mentioned above in your spread (can use more) and make sure food is used in the picture.
If you wish to do mixed media (as I love to do) feel free. Hand drawn is fantastic. And a bit of collage is OK as well. Basically the same old rules everyone else has listed. Hopefully it will be a fairly wide open enjoyable theme for all you amazingly talented ladies.

    9. Waffle---Theme: Cupcakes and Tea - For this swap please make a scene with a table set for high tea with cupcakes being served as the main pastry. There can be other pastries and foods but the centerpiece should be a large cupcake or a grouping of smaller cupcakes. It can be any flavor mix you want, real or made up. You can use any medium you want, hand drawn, mixed media, etc.

The table can be far away or close up, set for one person or many guests, there can be people or animals enjoying tea, or the table can be lonely with no guests yet. The setting can be fantasy, vintage, modern times, etc. - it's up to you. At a minimum there needs to be an obvious cupcake and a teacup.

    10. Theweavershand---Theme: I'd like my theme to be Vintage 50s and 60s magazine food ads. I'd like the entire journal to have the feel of something out of a women's magazine from the 50s or 60s. It should feature the quintessential 50s housewife who wore high heels and pearls to clean the oven, etc. or be set in one of those fabulously retro kitchens with the turquoise appliances and "Leave it to Beaver" families. Each spread should be an advertisement for a food item of the era and since a lot of those ads featured recipes using the products, it would be great to incorporate that as well.

    Travel Plans:

Please note that the order of mailing will differ for each journal. Yes, this is absolutely more confusing than mailing to the same artist after each round of creating. The reasons behind jostling the order of mailing are (1) To keep the swap lively and challenging, by changing the person you're "working toward" in each round; and (2) To balance shipping costs across all participants.

    Yay!
I've set the first mail out date as "tentative" because I know people will need time to get their moleys, decide on a theme & finish their first three pages, so no worries yet.

Oh!! & everybody remember to pm me your:
    Real name
    Address
    Telephone #
    Email address
    Blood type
    & Mother's maiden name

so I can make out the list (ok, maybe not the last two)...

Tea will have to answer your question about what mediums. But it is a 60 page acordian book approximately 3 1/2" x 5 1/2". Mine arrived today.

#1--- If you fit the requirements set by AFA then of course!

#2--- Dangit.. I'll have to find a new link... But yes, that's the right one--the pocket size like Linda said.

#3--- Any media is allowed, but pay close attention to any stipulations given by whoever's book you have, everyone is allowed to make stipulations (like mine that stickers & unaltered magazine pics not be used as focals)...

thanks linda, I went ahead and ordered the one from Utrecht (gave me an excuse to order some more individual inktense pencils )

what's the paper in them like? will it hold up to watercolor? or is it better with dry mediums

I copied Tea's theme to word my own. Does this work? I am not good with words.

-Theme: "Steampunk Village Feast" A panoramic view of the town and it's inhabitants during this festival of good eats.
Do: Create a section of this industrial gadget strewn town as the smartly dressed (steampunk) people prepare the feast. & to make each page & scenery flow into the next, please let your art spill over just a bit into the next section so the next artist can add to your section by blending it into their own, & creating an unbroken view of the realm.

Shmoley moley!!! Wow on the themes ladies! I bought my moley at a good price on Amazon and didn't realize until today that they are shipping it from the UK. I hope it gets to me ok. I'm going to have to think up a theme.
