Ottawa, Canada meetup in April 2017?

VikingLady and myself were wondering how many people would be interested in a live art meetup in Ottawa in April 2017? (exact dates TBD) We are posting this early, so that everyone has a year to to save their pennies and join in!

The idea would be like a the SeARTle format, i.e. Fri-Sun of art gatherings and fun.

There would be a registration fee to cover the costs (e.g. room rental @ hotel to use for arting), which would depend on number of participants and location.

If you are up for it, please post below. When we get enough interest we will firm up plans!

Thanks so much for your well wishes HHC! I'm hoping some of our American friends from Ohio, Minnesota and Pennsylvania can maybe make it up to Ontario next year. They're the ones closest to the border of Ontario.

Hey, how far is Ottawa from Montreal? Montreal is just over the border from Burlington VT and I've been there many times... I wonder if it's a drivable distance... hmmm.

Hi GwennieJo! I think it's about a 2 hour drive to Ottawa from Montreal. Is that about right Miss M? Sure hope you can make it for next year. It would be great to meet you!

Woot woot! Yes, GwennineJo, it's about 2 hours from Montreal (more like 90 minutes if you drive like me! hee hee). Would love to meet you!

Definitely Mtl to Ottawa is driveable! (Make sure you ask mcgillisj for tips on getting here faster! LOL) Train service between the two cities (www.viarail.ca) it pretty good too, so for anyone flying in, Montreal airport is also a possibility if you want to extend your stay and see more of Canada while you are here!

It would be great to have people come to Canada. I was thinking Vancouver, because that's where I live. I'd love to go to Ottawa tough. I'll keep an eye on this thread.

I'm going to watch this thread develop. I wouldn't mind taking a trip to Ottawa. And an art meet up would be cool. Super cool actually.

Mistiko, nightowl too, and Amerasu, I'd love to meet you gals. I think what I'll do when I get back is maybe have some face time with Miss M and so some brainstorming to see what we can cook up as fun activities. Ottawa is a beautiful city and I can't see crafting together in some hotel room for five days straight when there's so much to see. I was thinking we could combine both art and a tour of the city at the same time? Miss M and I will have to investigate the possibilities though and get back to you at a later date.
