Lightbulb Children Creole ATC for Haiti

THIS IS FOR ATC TRADES 3:3 or 9:9 ONLY.
Since the first ATC book for the Hatian orphans landed in Haiti in person on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017. I thought it was time to start collecting ATC's again.
So I offered to create an entire A-Z alphabet Creole ATC card set for them.
I will trade you 3 or 9 ATC for 3 or 9 A-Z Creole language flashcard. If you are so inspired to send me an entire set (26) A-Z in Creole then I will send you a private trade of choice.
Please include the artist info of the location (at least.)

    Trade: 3:3 or 9:9 .

ATC A-Z set trade; something of mine private trade.
    • Must be Creole language. Meaning it needs to have a creole word on it.
    • Must at least have artists location on the back of each ATC.
    • Can be hand drawn, painted, collaged, digital.
    • Must be ATC size on sturdy cardstock.
Please non food art. Due to the hunger.

Please make sure you use a non-toxic medium!!!

DO not include bling, or thick junky or brads or buttons. No glitter please!

    Deadline is February 28, 2018.

If you are interested please PM me for my address.

This is really intriguing! Do you have a link to Haitian Creole words & alphabet?

Cool! I was in Haiti in 1984 as a dental assistant. I picture us sending drawings/paintings of a Kitchen, bus, doctor, fish, etc as we know them, and the kids looking at the card with very puzzled expressions :-)

I hope you're able to post examples of the cards you recently delivered and examples of what you're looking for. This project sounds so PURPOSEFUL!

This is really great. I understand that we're making 26 cards - A-Z with Creole words and matching images. Is this correct? And these are due to you by next February?

Yes, I would love to help out.

A lot of my cards would disqualify already. I use nailpolish marbled in water as background for many cards, or acrylics or they already have English words on them- or they have glitter or something 'bulky' even though I don't like 3D effect in my cards...

English words are ok as well. That helps the adult haitians as well. I just wanted more or less to start out with trying to get the A-Z set accomplished then I will fill in with other 'word' ATC's. I have to have 90 to 180 depending upon the book that I get.

Yes 26 cards for the A-Z then I have to fill in with others.
As soon as I get started on mine today I will post pictures. Once I get some in and traded for I will post the progress. This is something that will be tangible for each child to flip through and learn. They will be in the sleeve individual plus in the 6 sheet potector page inside the book.

pennydoodles, thank you for the information. Yes, I'll make time for this. It sounds like a great opportunity to give to some really needy and deserving children and adults.

    This sounds very interesting !
I'll look into it.. thinking of a 9 pocket but I dont have the actual pocket and I can't seem to find a good store here.. When I ask anywhere for ATC stuff I get a very blank look from the person behind the counter... *sigh*

The 9 pocket is a base ball card sheet protector. Yeah around here I have to explain ATCS in detail. Lol. It's ok if you don't have the pocket. It makes it easier to ship and add items in.

I found some !! In a toy store in a bigger town a few miles from where I live
So with the A to Z cards the idea is to make like A for airplane, B for boat and so on but then using the creole word on the card?

Yes to use the creole word. Oh I was informed today to be leaning towards non food items because most are hungry children. Seeing a card with food on it might make them think of how just hungry they are.
    Thanks.

For the record, if anyone recognizes a card they made in the video of the notebook, I did contribute some cards from my collection. I thought giving them to the children would be a good thing. I hope nobody minds. I did make sure the artist's name was visible on the back.

I recommend looking at pictures of Haiti on the internet. Some items that are common to us may look totally different in Haiti. I'm picturing their common everyday buses--tap taps--Woah! Those would be fun to paint or draw
